QUOTE(Created On 21/1/2021 @ Dec 17 2025, 07:35 PM) How is it possible? My car is 4 years old. I have the most expensive Vkool tint At condo, parking is cool and shaded in the parking lot building At work, parking underground also cool and shaded While driving, I never get the feeling the car is hot. How can it “melt”? Is it purely cosmetic, or something that will gradually worsen and need to be worried about? |

QUOTE(josh5671 @ Dec 17 2025, 07:51 PM) i dont think it cause by sun..at least not directly, as you describe you almost everyday parking under roofed place. No sun reflection issue, in condo, my car windshield faces inwards so doesn’t get hit by sunlight.mine 4yr plus too, working will get direct sun, at home park under roof no such marking. so i suggest you sent your car to accessories shop you well know, let them take a look edit: any chance you daily parking the same spot and have mirror or window reflecting the sunlight ? At work it is basement parking so no sunlight. Anyways I have checked at X50 FB group, apparently this is a manufacturing defect and need to get it changed at SC. Apparently one user shared they got it replaced for free as the car was under warranty. But what a weird defect and what bad luck to get affected by it. If anyone knows more, please share. Just an update. I went to the Proton SC and they inspected. They confirmed the top layer of the dashboard has deformed. Apparently got 3 layers. They tried asking if I park in the sun or placed any material on thr dashboard, I vehemently disagreed.
After checking, they said will proceed with warranty claim. However, they said it is purely cosmetic and the airbag is functional. When I asked what caused it, since I very rarely park in direct sunlight (and even then it is for a short while), plus my car has a good Vkool tint....the technician says he not sure. He just say it might be a quality issue but cannot say what caused it to happen. He also claimed.this is the first such case the SC has ever seen. Parts are ordered, will arrive next week and the repair will take 1-3 days. If anyone got any input please share |
