Guys serious question. One thing I absolutely hate about my X50 is the lagging head unit. For simple thing like Bluetooth music and change aircon also it will take a while to respond at times.

I don't even use it for any smart features cause it's too slow.

Anyone know the specs? Why Proton cheap out so much on it? I rather pay rm500 extra for better specs that also helps to future proof.

If I wanna change the head unit in a few years can be done officially by proton?

I never updated, and am thankful I never did after reading everyone's horror stories.

But truth be told, I've never actually seen any pop up for update. How will it even do so without connection to Internet?

Guys my 2nd car remote also now showing low battery after just 14 months.

I've swapped out the 1st one...the stock battery is Maxell. Is that a good brand?

Is it same experience for others both remote battery get low battery warning within 12 to 14 months

Damn, I guess the earlier batch of cars had a better default cr2032 (Panasonic maybe?) and the latter batches had a shitty Maxell battery that lasts 12 to 15 months

How about the main car battery...how long can we expect it to last? When to change? Did any of you go SC do the free battery test?

How accurate is the Proton SC battery test every 6 months? What is a telltale sign of impending battery failure?

Just worried it happened one day...my car is Executive now 1 year 3 months old.

Will Standard/Executive battery last longer because lesser electronics compared to Premium/Flagship?

Not sure if there’s an issue with my cars telemetry.

I find that if I drive on “hilly” highway like the NKVE (after Duta toll heading to Elite), MEX or on MRR2 (the many flyovers), if I accelerate sharply downhill and ease off the accelerator when going uphill, my fuel consumption is MUCH better than when traveling on a more flat road (such as Federal) at the same average speeds.

Does it make sense?

I notice better fuel economy when driving north on NSE (using the hilly terrain to my advantage) than south as well, again at average speed of say 110km/h.

Guys, when we go to service the car, any idea what kinds of checks are done FOC as part of the service?

Do they check/fill in tyres? How about battery? What else is checked (if at all any)?

Driving on "proper" roads, gentle acceleration, gentle cornering, up to 120km/h on highways.

My battery is gonna go dead soon (SC says SOH 3%), wanna get ready in advance.

Wtf Proton was so farken stupid to change their OS like that. Me too, not gonna change it, ever.

They could do so much to improve, but they came up with a shittier update.

I also got the SMS, my car was manufactured in October 2021.

A few questions:

1. Is it necessary (or recommended) to get this update?
2. What is changed/improved?
3. Are all X50 affected since launch? Or only certain batches?
4. Will the update cause GKUI to update to Atlas OS?

I'm about to renew my road insurance (2nd renewal) for X50 Exec variant.

During my first renewal, the sum assured based on market value was RM68,900. However, it's still remains as RM68,900 this year. How come?

Is the market value of a 2 year old X50 Exec that high?

Hi guys, my car battery is on the last legs, cranking taking longer. Can you recommend a good replacement battery? What's the stock battery?

Mine still stock from factory, 21,000km done, car manufactured and received in October 2021. Executive variant with zero modifications.

Still some guidance would be good. Proton SC quoting me RM459.

Last time back in June they told me need to change urgently since SOH just 3%
