I bought this one. Wired. The box firmware can update so considered original? Because imitation can't upgrade. Will brick the device.
You can opt for the wireless one. But I feel wired is better and cheaper.

1. You still need to plug in to charge unless using wireless charger.
2. Wired more stable connection?

musicolet i actually redownload and it able to install.

just minor problem, android 5 on HU seen cant read music library from removeable storage.

It's quite weird because the USB is already mounted. Why the music players can't read the USB device.. Those like ES is able to read.

I think I will only stick to Android Auto / Carplay and not using the native HU to run any apps.
Keep that as cool as possible, minimum CPU usage. Last as long as I'm able to have this car service me.

Oh ya, please be extra careful when you install APK from unknown source.
During the test, VirusTotal is reporting suspected malware in ES File Explorer I got from Russian group, so better download from trusted and known site.

Actually my SA proposed Ala Carte to me, er... more like he force the Ala Carte on me using the popular phrase of "it was installed from factory"

But I don't really mind that since I get to get rid of all those other unnecessary item.

I think it really depend on outlet and SA, mine were from Lesydear.

What happened if i uninstall using the script but leave the apps like waze. Will it still works?

It will, there is no dependencies between apps after install.
It just that later if you need more apps, you have to do it again.

Just followed the instructions given.
Copy everything needed in the usb drive that prepared and plug into X50 USB port.

A screen will popup asking if the USB is music or video media, just be patience there and wait for it to reboot.

Took around 15mins to install my apks showing in the pictures before it start to reboot.
Best is that you opening the app manager (the left icon next proton icon at the bottom centre of the screen) to observe the installation progress.

To install in batch, what I did is copy all the apk files into data folder that created and do the necessary permissions.

<Below only for those who understand the script syntax. >
Then use "pm install -rtdg --user 0 (replaced with your folder location)/Netflix.apk".

Uninstal script only remove /data/app/es/es.apk.
You need to uninstall it first from App List, before running the script.

Successfully installed but my es crash when loading. Aduh. Need to downgrade the version?

Yes, you can rename  Waze to ES.apk,
For the ES explorer, you could also use other file explorer as long as it supports android 5.1.

Our head unit still running on ndroid 5.1 which no longer supported or recommended by Google.
So everything software have to be old enough to run on the new car... Haha.. 😅
