why proton official website still do not have x50 listed?

Regarding the 2 accessories package. Many dealers did not understand the memo from Proton HQ.

The memo mentioned each "unit of allocation received". These units are the display/test drive units that the dealers received days ago. Proton HQ is NOT referring to customer units.

For example, if the dealer received 2 X50 for display and test drive purposes, they need to order 2 accessories packages and suppose to install them at those 2 units.

Many dealers thought each customer unit need to order one accessories package which is not meant by the memo. So if your SA is forcing you to buy one, explain this to them. And if they dont believe, ask them to reconfirm with HQ instead of asking their boss or whatever.

Just went to showroom to have a test drive.

Pros, the car interior really doesn’t feel like a Proton. The screen really gives the impression that the car is way more expensive. Engine was quick and can feel the torque when you floor it.

Cons, the side cameras are definitely noticeably ‘blur’. It’s not HD but it’s alright, too used to using my side mirrors and didn’t notice the ‘Lanewatch’-ish feature that appeared on screen. Reverse camera was fine and clearer.

QC wise, there were 3 units on display and 2 for test drive but the chrome trim misalignment wasn’t there or really isn’t noticeable.

Colour wise, Red is not pleasing to my eyes... it looks very cheap... but some people like red ah well. Orange looks like Renault orange which may appeal to some. Grey looks like X70 grey aka air longkang colour to me. Silver was okay actually and can see it being a big seller for non-Flagship models. No white on display.

the major difference between x50 premium and flagship are just engine TGDI and non-TGDI. Should i go for premium although flagship is still within my budget? i have yet been test drive, so want to seek advice from anyone who have done test drive on both variant

Flagship. Yet to even test drive the car lol.
Flagship is the one that's different compared to other rivals (city, almera, hrv). 2 person already got their x50 today from the place i booked.

Maybe they pay by cash..

I would ask you to reconsider really, if the 'flagship' is within budget. I'm not gonna throw out the cliche 'you can't put a price on safety' statement but I don't see how one can actually say one does not need Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
That in itself is worth the price of admission, if you ask me.

As for the rest of the ADAS suite, the only one I find useful or helpful in my current wheels is the blind spot monitor thing. After a while you fo tend to check if that red triangle is in your sideview mirrors before turning. The rest like the auto park and what not, yeah I don't use. Heck, I don't even know how to engage them tbh  :confused:

Just use the mirror QDlink unfortunately.. can try android auto dongle if it works.

Btw, does the x50 have walk away lock feature?

seriously.. 10k (air filter) and 20k (n95 filter) already changed filter.. what a waste?
not only that, each service also needs to replace those filters..

If you notice carefully, both air filter and cabin filter alternately change every 20k which I think is reasonable. My Myvi also has similar interval.
