QUOTE(jaychew90 @ Oct 28 2020, 12:11 AM) Regarding the 2 accessories package. Many dealers did not understand the memo from Proton HQ. Thanks, it does make sense and I hope that's the case. The memo mentioned each "unit of allocation received". These units are the display/test drive units that the dealers received days ago. Proton HQ is NOT referring to customer units. For example, if the dealer received 2 X50 for display and test drive purposes, they need to order 2 accessories packages and suppose to install them at those 2 units. Many dealers thought each customer unit need to order one accessories package which is not meant by the memo. So if your SA is forcing you to buy one, explain this to them. And if they dont believe, ask them to reconfirm with HQ instead of asking their boss or whatever. My SA did mention the sales team were quite confused by this actually but will seek further clarification. |

QUOTE(storky20 @ Oct 28 2020, 04:14 PM) Just went to showroom to have a test drive. Nice review!Pros, the car interior really doesn’t feel like a Proton. The screen really gives the impression that the car is way more expensive. Engine was quick and can feel the torque when you floor it. Cons, the side cameras are definitely noticeably ‘blur’. It’s not HD but it’s alright, too used to using my side mirrors and didn’t notice the ‘Lanewatch’-ish feature that appeared on screen. Reverse camera was fine and clearer. QC wise, there were 3 units on display and 2 for test drive but the chrome trim misalignment wasn’t there or really isn’t noticeable. Colour wise, Red is not pleasing to my eyes... it looks very cheap... but some people like red ah well. Orange looks like Renault orange which may appeal to some. Grey looks like X70 grey aka air longkang colour to me. Silver was okay actually and can see it being a big seller for non-Flagship models. No white on display. I remember watching a wapcar video on the Binyue, the presenter mentioned that the car in "D" mode will not move unless you press the accelerator? As for the colours, I can imagine what the red will look like but I think the orange is easier on the eyes. The blue is probably like the Iriz blue. The dual tone white-black remains the nicest colour IMHO, always ogling when I see Volvo XC40 or Range Rover Evoque with that paintjob |

QUOTE(creations @ Oct 28 2020, 08:32 PM) hi all, The other major difference is Level 2 autonomous driving assistance. A very important feature IMHOthe major difference between x50 premium and flagship are just engine TGDI and non-TGDI. Should i go for premium although flagship is still within my budget? i have yet been test drive, so want to seek advice from anyone who have done test drive on both variant |

QUOTE(sonotme @ Oct 29 2020, 08:27 PM) Flagship. Yet to even test drive the car lol. Huh? Can get the car already? Flagship is the one that's different compared to other rivals (city, almera, hrv). 2 person already got their x50 today from the place i booked. QUOTE(ycs @ Oct 29 2020, 09:22 PM) I previously stated that my SA said the add-on is compulsory if I want to get the car this year. However, SA updated today that it's confirmed optional. I think a lot of dealers got confused by the internal memo by Proton HQ |

QUOTE(madmoz @ Oct 31 2020, 11:26 AM) I would ask you to reconsider really, if the 'flagship' is within budget. I'm not gonna throw out the cliche 'you can't put a price on safety' statement but I don't see how one can actually say one does not need Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). Definitely cannot put a price on safety especially in a country where accidents and deaths on the road are so common. That in itself is worth the price of admission, if you ask me. As for the rest of the ADAS suite, the only one I find useful or helpful in my current wheels is the blind spot monitor thing. After a while you fo tend to check if that red triangle is in your sideview mirrors before turning. The rest like the auto park and what not, yeah I don't use. Heck, I don't even know how to engage them tbh  Features like ACC will also greatly help especially if you're tired driving late at night and also in traffic. |

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Nov 3 2020, 03:18 AM) Proton has updated their service page to include X50 https://www.proton.com/en/after-sales/service-maintenance Timing Belt RM195.16 Drive Belt RM112.89 QUOTE(spreeeee @ Nov 3 2020, 08:36 AM) seriously.. 10k (air filter) and 20k (n95 filter) already changed filter.. what a waste? All these service cost covered by the 5 years warranty? Or is it the 5 times free labour ?not only that, each service also needs to replace those filters.. |

QUOTE(steven789 @ Nov 3 2020, 09:24 AM) If you notice carefully, both air filter and cabin filter alternately change every 20k which I think is reasonable. My Myvi also has similar interval. Yes, to change N95 filter every 12 months is quite reasonable considering it is much more efficient to filter air borne particles compared to the normal air filter. Plus, the air on the road is so much more polluted. |

Very short review: On sports mode, I did not even floor the pedal, only halfway, but the car jerked forward and accelerated quickly. The engine is really responsive and can feel the power. The steering wheel felt light on normal mode but I couldn't remember how it was on sports mode, apparently it should be heavier. I love how the panoramic sunroof let in so much light into the cabin. Makes the car feel more airy. The seats were great, I like how there is sufficient support to the lower and middle back. Build quality is okay - plasticky air con vents and door handles but I'm not going to nitpick on this. Did not manage to try the other features like ICC/ACC/parking assist nor the 10.25" infotainment screen. woodentiger86 liked this post

Hey, stupid question: Can you connect your phone to the infotainment screen through bluetooth and play songs from your phone = audio comes out from the car speakers?
