Same. I cycle & still ride my MTB on taman, tepi longkang, road tarmac. Etc only.
Just recent got time & seeking a little adventure , heading to the hill trails (entry level, low one) with my son.
I Got one mtb donut by BIL and another mtb (too big for me - L size, won from lucky draw). But still can manage to ride although over size for both of us.

So, me & son venture to the hills as noobies. Lol. Imagine all these years I never ridden the mtb up hill or trails before.

Enjoy the greens & air, and found new recreation activities as well. my legs & stamina not that strong for high step ascend to follow my son. I needed many stops and rest to catch breaths. Still coping. But I enjoy the rides. The rest of my family can hike up the hills while son & myself on mtb.

I'm looking for a full suspension MTB, with budget of around Rm5k-6k.

Looking for members suggestion between these 2 options:

Merida 99 CF
or
Alcott Denon

The Merida is 29" while the Alcott is 27.5"
The Merida is available on discount as it is an old model already while the Alcott is quite new, but not much info/review

Mainly for santai ride near my place in Kemensah/Melawati during the weekend and also for ride on gravel track at my kampung in Sekinchan maybe once a month

that Merida is used right? because totally diff price range. $5500 pound is not RM5500.

btw, Alcott dont need RM6K. RM5.2K already for sale at Turbomad KL, may be you can try your luck if you visit there for further discount. That bike shop got a lot of people these days, not sure they got time entertain you or not lol

Thanks for your reply.
The Merida is brand new, with listed is price of RM11k, but PedalSpot is willing to give big discount as it is a discontinued model.
They can also offer 0% interest-free installment if pay using Maybank CC

The Alcott is Rm5.3k in KL, but I've not visited them yet for discount.

Thanks for your valuable advice.
If I want for cross country rather than all mountain, which is the better option?

Thanks
