Short answer is cost. Shimano and SRAM both have entry level 12spd groupsets that bike manufacturers can spec for the cheapest bikes. It's more attractive to customers looking to buy a new bike because 12spd is the latest tech. Similarly, anyone can now upgrade to the latest 12spd groupos for the same price as the previous 11spd groupos. Just very normal marketing and sales tactics to get people to buy/upgrade.

The whole industry has moved to 1x now. 2x/3x groupsets is almost obsolete. Even the XC bikes are all 1x. Because of the big 50t/52t cassette, range is not a problem anymore even for flats. Just need to get a bigger/smaller chainring to suit your usage. Makes it a lot easier for beginners to learn how to shift as well since there is only one shifter to deal with.

Yes, I agree. This is how they force people to buy new stuff whenever they introduced a new industry standard, e.g. non-tapered to tapered forks, 26 to 27.5, non-boost to boost, etc. Change a bit of stuff or just tweak a bit. They will stop selling the old stuff so that you have no choice but to eventually upgrade or buy a new bike. lol.

To be fair, I used 2x before I changed to 1x and thought 1x made a lot of sense. It works for my riding and I really like how much cleaner the bike looks without the extra chain ring, FD, left shifter, cables.

If you dont have the hub yet, just go 12s lah.
Yeah, for sure the sunrace cassette is lighter.
Shimano cassette all steel, heavier but more durable I guess.
I have SLX M7000 RD with sunrace 46T cassette on my XC bike. So far no problem.
Sunrace quality is good. Specialized use them on their bike.

Currently i'm using Giant Talon 2 (gift from someone).
It's 8 speed causing my leg mau patah during uphill. But cant complain since its free.

Planning to upgrade to SLX 12 speed. Is it good enough?
What component do i need though?

Hi all. I have been in this sport/hobby for few years but most of the time I only ride in my HT to tarmac ascend/descend and rocky garden. My end goal is to eventually able to go full DH if possible, so for now I am planning to move on to trail riding or AM.

Now, I have a few questions:
1. What kind of skill I need to acquire before going to trial riding? (asking this because saw people doing jumps and air)

2. Say if I really need more advance control over my bike like manual, bhop, is it alright to learn online or better to get a coach?

3. If I were to buy a fullsus, with the budget of 6k, what brand and model I can get or it is better to build myself?

Bike price raised since first mco. Now buying the bike is not the issue....issue is supply of groupset ....I waited 5 mo for my di2 to be delivered after order. Frame etc was just rotting at the shop until the gset came

Yup, way wider. 
On climb, I dont notice much difference with the wide handlebar.
But when downhill, definitely can confirm more stable with the wider handlebar.

I think handlebar preference depend also on the type of riding.
On my XC bike, I dont use wide handle bar, I use 720.
Before this, 680. Too narrow for my liking.
780 is on my trail bike.
