QUOTE(Guyver @ Jun 20 2021, 05:42 PM) If that's the case, then I better wait for the local shop to replenish their stock. If buy online and these items are missing, no use to complaint. you can always ask the seller. If there is good honest seller should be ok. Other than that, you can always negotiate with seller about free gifts for complete bike example bottle cage / water bottle / helmet / glove etc. Face to face negotiate always better to avoid empty promise. You can always come back share or ask question in here. Good luck have fun.

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 16 2021, 01:57 PM) Hi alll sifu, i am new in cycling, planning to get a MTB that looks good and ride good =) my budget is around 2.5k. i saw there is this brand JAVA, apparently is italian design, china made ? ( correct me if im wrong). anyone tried this before and any feedbacks? also what are the other brands i can look into as there is soooo many different brands available and it is very confusing. First, you need to buy the bike online or at bike shop? Not every brand available in your area bike shop. So if introduce the brand that you are hard to find in your area what you gonna do?

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 16 2021, 10:46 PM) i don't mind either, but of course shop would be better as you can see and feel it. basically i leave around Subang Area, so anywhere within Selangor or KL is fine as now it is easily reachable. This one may be fall in your budget. But I not sure you are aiming hard tail or soft tail.

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 24 2021, 04:23 PM) thanks for the recommendation, may i know what model is this? for me i would be doing taman riding and occasionally to trail for some "jungle" experience, i guess hardtail is good enough right? Your budget fall into Giant Talon. I not sure is either model 3 or model 2 but the price seem very close. For those riding MTB final destination sure will go for full suspension. Since you already ride so many years of hard tail and willing to spend more on this sport why not give a try on soft tail?

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 24 2021, 04:26 PM) thanks! yea Polygon is a famous brand tho. other than that what else would you recommend? i saw XDS offers lots of choice too, it is from china but apparently their manufacturing facility is huge. not much of review tho. My first time heard about the XDS brand in Malaysia around 2009 ~ 2010. Got people bring in their bike selling in here. Rm7xx~Rm9xx already got full alloy hard tail. Rm12xx already got alloy full suspension model. Until today this brand still survive because quantity they selling out are huge in china. Some more they majority do OEM business. Some of their model just paste the XDS sticker but exactly same like those famous brand one. Wonder why you want to purposely seek for this brand?

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 24 2021, 05:39 PM) Yea, you have the point.! i have been pondering on this too. i have been riding hard tail for almost my whole life. but i just wonder is full suspension gonna feel very "bouncy" if i use it for taman ride? It's depend on the rear shock. Once you setting correctly should be no issue.

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 24 2021, 05:52 PM) Yea.! i did some research online and this brand is really huge in china. i did not purposely search for it, but i saw usj cycles carries it and they have lots of model. Honestly their design is kinda nice and the price is really reasonable, mostly below 2k. another one i think is really nice is Canyon, i like their business model and also the design. However their cheapest MTB is around 5k which is not that cheap after all. haha recently I just notice RM5k can let you get a entry setting DH bike. LOL

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 24 2021, 08:29 PM) haha i guess downhill is not really common, maybe for me. the series of MTB is really confusing as they have so many range, why cant they have one that fits all. terrain to determine which bike you suppose to ride. But very pity people always to focus on speeds at the end you will lose a lot of fun.

QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Jul 26 2021, 09:16 AM) How's the ting ? I have a cheap belll and a cateye bell . Cateye bell is really loud, sharp and longer sustain .....tiiiiiiiiiinnnnggggg. (at times in have to stop the ting with my finger when I'm use it at night in my Taman . Lol). this one solid and the build is almost rust free. The sound is good too. Installation is easy and no need to pull out everything on handlebar. Most important the cost RM6.5 now. Really impeccable.

QUOTE(Boldnut @ Jul 26 2021, 01:51 PM) some of their series have some serious specs, everything good except well.... the body if you question their brand quality. last year only, got shop sell new bike with spec like these for less than RM2400, 27.5 wheel, Manitou fork some more, whole bike 11.5kg https://xds-bicycles.com/bikes/xds-romance-800-ultralight/https://www.facebook.com/xds.malaysia/posts...91375821120336/XDS problem is frame size. They only offer limited size. LOL

QUOTE(terence8 @ Jul 25 2021, 11:11 AM) yea, recently got poison by polygon D5, altho is out of my budget, perhaps should save money for better one rather than upgrade it soon. I just go to see the detail of the spec. If really serious then don't buy D5. Minimum need go to D6.

QUOTE(terence8 @ Aug 5 2021, 11:59 PM) Yeah! That’s what my friend told me also. He say D5 spec really lousy owh. At least D7 for good ride 2021 already spend RM3k++ to buy a frame using QR is not a good choice. Polygon bike price no longer cheap anymore.

QUOTE(techjunkie @ Aug 23 2021, 10:10 AM) Want to ask those sifus who have changed their own tyres (MTB tyres) if you encountered problems trying to get the tyre back onto the rim? Those videos in youtube made it look so easy, but in reality........i was made to sweat for hrs and eventually tore the inner tube What tool you using? Use this tool. This is the very nice tools which not let your rim be scratch. And when you install back the inner tube remember pump a little air inside.
