try comparing a cbu with a ckd Toyota or Honda and you'll find that the problem is with Malaysia....

All talk about quality with Proton is bull. I have a 2 year old waja and I still have the same old proton problem. I bought my first waja in 2001 and it had the door handle, power window and odometer problem.

I bought the 2nd generation Waja thinking that they would have solved all the problem but nope. The driver side window already kaput and I was told it is not part of the 5 years warranty. My odometer panel is also not working properly. The hand brake light and ABS light will light up all the time.

Best part about the Waja is that the Campro sucks big time. The worst engine I have ever encountered. The previous Mitsubishi engine was better.

And the resale value is also shit. You lose about RM24k depreciation for 2 years. I am thinking of seriously ditching this lump of crap and sayanora Proton. Some delusional forumer will jump up and say Proton is great and is our national pride. It is most likely they don't drive Proton at all.

20 years and they still need crutches. Do you all remember when the Mitsubishi Partner Japanese Director complained about quality issues and he was criticised?

Thank you proton for great cars like Juara and Tiara. If Savvy was so good why is it that Myvi is better selling? You wonder what must be in their head when they thought of these cars. They think every Malaysian has no discerning taste.

I have never come across a Honda or Toyota with power window problem. Proton power window is a joke. Have you had your window bracket break and your window is like half shut in the rain?

Give me Proton power window OEM supplier contact and I would like to know who is their shit supplier.

I pity all Saga BLM buyers and yes I have seen Saga with fading break lights.

Go to spare part shop and ask for NAZA 206 Bestari / Peugeout 206 fuel tank cap. It's the same.
Or looking for 2nd hand by join AXTAC in yahoo group.

Thanks.

Don't take it literally.

I had the unique experience on sitting on a Tiara once and you wouldn't believe it. The engine stalled each time the air-cond compressor kicked in. I wonder can anybody else share their life transforming experience in a Tiara or Juara. I was so inspired by my ride in the Tiara on that afternoon I was thinking of getting a tatoo "I love Proton" on my arm and hoping one day I can have a successful career in selling proton Tiara. I don't know why my parents talked me out of it as a career choice. But to my dismay the car is no longer in production due to its overwhelming response just when I completed my degree.

I heard the Savvy is pretty good.....

Good Day,
Proton Tiara designed is from joint venture between Proton and Citroen. The design of the car is totally wrecked due to poor design and built up quality. I personally, tried Proton Tiara before as my first car , well , worst car i ever drive in my driving history. Lack of power, high fuel consumption for its class 1100 cc engine capacity. Response and durability always causes me headache. The worst is Proton's spare part is not applicable but only genuine Citroen's Spare Part.

Well, i'm not prejudice in this car but i only mentioned my personal opinion towards this car. I sold it off after 6 months time only. Next, Proton Savvy, currently selling not bad and fuel consumption is GOOD for its class. Powered by D-type engine from Renault. The Savvy is also notable for being the first Proton car to undergo the first ever publicly-announced recall. On April 1, 2008, Proton Edar ordered the recall of all 34,000 Savvys on Malaysian roads (of which their production dates are before December 17, 2007) for an inspection and (possible) replacement of the rear wheel bearing, based on part defect found during random checks. The announcement was a precautionary measure over possibilities potential water entry into the Savvy's rear wheel bearing set might causes malfunction to its components.

The main concern still the maintenance price only. Good Luck's Savvy Owner.

guys..i realised that at times..while im driving my manual 1.6 wira XLi..there will be sort of a very short "pssst" or rather "pssshh" sound coming from the front left end of the car..and whenever the sound comes,at that instant my car will lose power, something like me letting go of the pedal..it rarely occurs and happens only for less then a second and i was wondering if its anything serious..

Good Day,
I strongly recommend you to send to Proton Service Centre for diagnose. Better hurry before the car really break down and ended up expensive repair. Good Luck icon_rolleyes.gif

GooD Day,
The brake should working normally although your gear position is neutral . In fact is your brake should less pressure comparing you're braking with gear position in D. Gear position for D will always drive your car forward no matter you press the accelerator or not. In this case you better send your car to SC. I'm suspecting your car requires bleeding in the brake system. Eyes visual on your brake rotor , you should able to notice your brake pad condition. Don't play around with the brake.

Lucky for you!!! sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Added on November 20, 2009, 2:41 pmGood Day,
I had a bad day yesterday for my Proton Waja Campro 1.6E , year 2007. Previously, i had power window jammed for the driver's side. I replace it with aftermarket made of steel and only cost Rm 250 ++ which last for 4 months only.

Soon after replacing the aftermarket product the window works perfectly but next the power window button start giving problem for failure the shut after opening it . I replaced 3x the window controller still end up the same. The only way the shut it when it fails is to slam the door and it work perfectly .

Yesterday, it fail again but this time is jammed, i send to Proton SC and do the final replacement. Guess what, i only realized the Proton Waja came in separate unit for bracket and power motor. Shit! I gotta repurchase the bracket for Rm 350 pc and replacing the motor for Rm 200 pc.

The technician informed me not necessary to replace all since is a separate unit. Only require to changes whichever is faulty. I only realized i was conned by own mechanic.

My mechanic should informed me during the first malfunction is only to replace the motor rather than the whole unit for ending up me to pay RM 500 ++.

Start now onwards i only will insist on using Genuine Proton Spare Parts rather be a dummy by aftermarket products.

Hi there, I want to talk about power window of my Wira A/B.
Recently, on last Friday I had replacing the power window bracket, both left and right hand side of the front door. It cost around RM 55 per side and total for RM 110.00 for both side. It is still cheaper compared to Waja power window.
But it takes 7 years before it jammed and right after my last settlement. So even though I don't have to pay monthly installment to the bank, but I need to spare some cash on maintaining my wira.
I guess when I had finish my installment, I can enjoy the money, but since repair take place, it still eat up a portion of my salary.
I guess its time to view another set of new car...ha..ha..

Good Day,
Lucky for you bro, your Wira bracket is so cheap. Car shouldn't really count on how many years is on the road to justify it roadworthiness but your maintenance is the most important from the 1,000 km till your current mileage. Routine and strictly maintenance according to car manufacturer recommendation will always ensure your car in tip top conditions. Routine replacement for wear and tear part is normal for car.

Yesterday, i just went to view the Perodua Alva and Proton Exora. I'm totally impressed with Proton Exora compare with Alva. Bigger room and advance too. I'm planning to get a new MPV later incoming 3 years time.
biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif still a long way to go.

Good Luck

there are times when i couldn't start my engine (wira 1.5se). as if the battery have not enough power*. However, to solve this problem, i just push the open door button on the key to lock it and re-open it, the engine could start already.

*its like when the car alarm was alerted, you cannot start engine unless you push the red button and start. but my case is that the alarm was not alerted. pushing the button wouldn't start the engine also.
