A question, are there any 3080 gaming laptop in malaysia atm? and what are the better models in the market right now?
*
got a few, Legion 7 best value for now
QUOTE(thundergodz @ Jun 30 2021, 05:49 PM)
Hows asus strix g17 compared to legion 7 in build, thermal, price and performance wise? Which would you recommend for best bang for your buck?

btw what making gaming desktops not cheap now a days? is it a malaysia thing or worldwide?
*
despite the smaller size Legion 7 actually cools better due to vapor chamber

price and performance Legion definitely has advantage due to having coupons and comes with full TGP GPU+MUX

high demand low supply, mining etc, affecting worldwide - even laptop components are having shortages...

Does the intel 11th gen having any advantage over the current ryzen 5900h/hx?

Does ryzen 5900h/hx using pcle 3.0 8x vs the intel 11th gen pcie 4.0 16x make a difference in gaming performance?

slightly faster at a cost of worse power efficiency, and other features that 99% ppl won't use like PCIe 4.0, TB4

negligible

Whats your opinion on legion 5 pro vs the legion 7 2021? I am comparing the same spec of ryzen 5800h/32gb ram/3070. legion 5 pro can go down to 6k with edu while legion 7 for the spec is around 7.1k? Is the build quality of the 7 any better or just more led all around?

Can i still add on another year of warranty after purchasing a unit? \

Is Lenovo accidental damage protection worth it?

Is Lenovo customer service good?

depends on you need the extra blings in L7 or not

L7: metal C cover, ~100g less, glass touchpad, diff design (looks more premium?), RGB light show, slightly thinner, can open lid 180 degrees vs 135, 1.3mm vs 1.5mm key travel, VC cooling, slightly better audio

if you plan to extend warranty, better get customize due to cheaper cost

for ADP, depends on you

service depends on luck and location, sometimes good sometimes bad

if u need touchscreen, most of them are 2in1 - wouldn't really suggest 15 inch 2in1 since it's bulky to use

so your choice is?

Thanks, btw do you happen to know the performance differences between a 5900hx/32gb ram/16gb 3080 vs 5800h/32gb ram/8gb 3070 for the L7? and is it worth it for the 2.2k price hike?

I know that 5900hx is a binned chip of a 5800h, i think the 3080 is too, just with higher vram for higher resolution graphics and higher clock speed and tgp, if I understand correctly.

5900HX and 5800H TBH not much different

3080M 165W and 3070M 140W performance difference around 20% I would say (depends on games). They are based on GA104 but diff config (eg more CUDA cores). Not the same.

Hmm a bit tricky since Ideapad 5 price has increased, anyway can take a look at it, get 57Wh battery in customization

L5P has A&D metal cover (lid and bottom cover), C cover (keyboard area) is ABS plastic

can consider Ideapad 5i 15 customize, there are other options as well like Honor Magicbook Pro 16.1
