Here is the thing with DIGI. And yes, I'm a fulltime 3G user

In Location A, where I stay in an apartment ,few floors up: Signal strength is full. Really good signal strength, and modem facing window, but speed is sometimes slow.
Complain to DIGI about this, DIGI said they found its coverage issue, and...nothing can be rectified doh.gif - Basically telling me , just take it and live with it. mega_shok.gif Okay fine .

Location B:
Staying in a house. Ground floor, signal is weak, have to put near the front window. Then only can get decent signal .
But if I put the modem on First floor in the living hall of the house (middle) - Signal bar is about 3 bars and sometimes full confused.gif
And speed is fast. Maybe not much 3G users.

Verdict? Climb too high (referring to Location A) - Signal strength damn good but slow.
Thats why upon next renewal of data plan, downgraded my Internet Cili Padi XL to 28 plan. (But still get free 30 days 2GB , and extra 6GB for renewing early. Thanks DIGI thumbup.gif )

i constantly facing poor network and call quality issue for past YEARS, asked digi, digi say, you must understand, we need time to plan, ..but this has been hearing from them for years....they acknowledge, but say, we need approval from outsider to approve..so i continue to suffer.

past months prior to MCO still ok, can tahan..but now work from home..so this really kill me, with poor call quality. my phone got volte, but digi say since this not samsung/iphone/huawei etc, we have no MOU with phone maker, so when call make, go to 3g, so i wonder what happen when 3g shut down next year,..this just continue to add salt to the problem...

i asked digi, digi say can give u 6 month rebate for 30%, where i decline it, this is horrible, within next 6 months they wont settle the problem, just that may be i never been their contract customer for postpaid, digi can offer contract customer for huge disc on phone, plus rm30+30 rebate for 24 month. so i cant see why they cant offer better rebate, but still, i continue to suffer poor network, poor call.
worse still, when ask CS, CS said, you cant use, pls downgrade the plan, instead of solving the problem, ask me to downgrade the plan; my plan may not be the top rm190, but monthly fixed amount at 95, and plus some other VAS, totally is about rm180-rm220 per month for my line, yet to add in 3 subline...

the worse is the customer service, via call, and chat, both telling me different plan upgrade.
one say, if you downgrade, or upgrade main line, all 3 subline will be adjusted to follow the current plan offer
but when i ask again, the chat, tell me, no, you can free to up or downgrade the plan, there is no impact to your subline, all 3 subline remain the same...this is digi nowadays..really....&*&(!(*%$
if not becoz of subline usage, and coverage issue for subline (due to diff location), i would have changed-MNPed.

Location A:

I think it's more on congestion issues than coverage.... many users in the apartment using digi same time?
well if u can find another telco with better services then move to there.... cannot be all 4 big telco sucks same time right sweat.gif

Location B:

this one more likely got building blocking the signal.... thus go higher get better signal...
speed faster? then less users that area or that particular time? try during peak hours.... see got differences in speed or not?

Why not just change telco? I was with Maxis for 10yrs then one day suddenly the 4G drops to 3G as soon as I step into at my local cafe. I spend a lot of time there. Reported the issue. 9 months later, still no improvement so I switched to DiGi. My dupe phones are all using DiGi so I already know Digi is ok at that location.

3G shutdown to free up 2100mhz spectrum for 5G.

About slow speed, play with LTE band. Digi band 8 worse than 3G for me.

3G shutdown is wake up call for telcos to increase their tower and coverage, while 2G shutdown is mere slap in wrist for them but slap in the face for consumers who uses dumbphone just for calls

If you think 4G does not cover as much as 3G, see how much 5G coverage against 3G, and if telcos can't afford to cover as much area for 4G as possible, why do you think they can cover every inch with 5G then?

Furthermore, with this 3G shutdown, they will tend to lose customers and revenue if they are not prepared. Those who needs only calling will not be affected, but if you use internet (and giving them greater revenue), therefore making you more literate in IT, will switch right away or terminate as soon your area loses any coverage for mobile internet use

Even now, when someone tells they only have 3G coverage, the advice you give is to switch to other telco that have better coverage, yet some of them are reluctant. Imagine not covered in 4G and then losing 3G, will they still be hesitant to switch? I don't think so
