It will depend on your plan.

For example, Best 2017 has 500MB basic internet monthly.

Good question. Normally change of plan will reset validity, for example to 5 days for U Mobile and 30 days for Hotlink.

Digi website advises to check that your current validity is not more than 60 days before changing to Next. I'm trying to find more information.

Update: there are three legacy DG prepaid plans that cannot switch to Next if the current validity is more than 60 days:

Best Prepaid v4

you can only receive calls if your line is active, and calls that are answered directly or by voicemail are chargeable
