Can I clarify why you all getting CIMB card as a replacement for the Maybank Grab Card, when the cashback percentage is the same or just slightly better?
CIMB eCard percentage is slightly better but that bonus points have capped at 20k
Please correct my calculation if I'm wrong
20,000 Bonus Point (BP) can redeem RM 50 Cashback CIMB Travel World Elite (TWE) (No Points Cap)
RM 1 = 10 BP
20,000 BP = RM 2000 x 10 BP
RM 50 Cashback / RM 2000 Spending =
2.5% CashbackCIMB eCard(20,000 BP cap)
eDay Spend (one day only on 28th) : RM 1 = 12 BP
20,000 BP = RM 1666.67 x 12 BP
RM 50 Cashback / RM 1666.67 Spending =
3% CashbackNormal Day : RM 1 = 3 BP
20,000 BP = RM 6666.67 x 3 BP
RM 50 Cashback / RM 6666.67 Spending =
0.75% Cashback============================================================================
Assuming if Grab Unlimited and Platinum user
5000 Points = RM 50 CashbackMaybank Grab Card (No Points Cap)
Top Up RM 1 into wallet = 1 Points
Spend that same RM 1 using GrabPay = 1.5 points
Effectively 2.5 points
5000 points = RM 2000 x 2.5 points
RM 50 Cashback / RM 2000 Spending =
2.5% CashbackThe fact is now Grab card only provide 1x points.
That's 1% cashback only.
Compare that with PB card or Affin card that can provide 3-4% of nett cashback.
