Just reported to MCMC. Hoping for some good answers and I hope they are not going to use the same answer like before. Please for god sake. Btw, how long would it take for them to reply for your complaint before ?
*
Should reply you within a week if i'm not mistaken. I think they will send an Acknowledge Email before send you the response.
It is kinda scripted, but at least you can ask for details.

Then that begs the question, If TM are capable of delivering those speed per OLT port, Why are they not offering 500/1Gbps plan and cut the price of 100Mbps to Counter Allo? hmm.gif
For most users 100Mbps will be enough and would go for whatever ISP offering that speed for cheaper.

But for Users like me/Tech Savvy People who download/uploads lots, 500M for 139 Is very Attractive. I don't need to store games as could just download again.
Save me the headache of making backups + money for storage as well. whistling.gif
*
As Soon as i mention why TM not countering Allo with slashing price and higher speed, They Immediately offer 500 and 800Mbps line packages lol.
But at around Rm200+ and 300+ for 500 and 800Mbps compared to 139 at allo and 199 for 1Gbps is a definite far cry doh.gif

They can only counter it with add on such as their TV packages and so on. dry.gif

Back then I thought dl speed is for more important than ul speed, and I don't know what is upload speed lol. Grow up to know that both is also important, if Uxxfx available in my TMN I won't choose their plan for the half of the upload speed. Not going fall for this kind of scam.
*
I Just realized that UxxFx Cap their upload speed at 200Mbps for their higher plans
So.
DL/UL speed for each plans is

100/50
300/50
500/200
800/200

Honestly that makes no sense for me to go above 100 if i still get the same upload speed for 300Mbps plan. Not all services can fully saturate a 300Mbps line.

On top of that for 500Mbps you have to pay for the TV box which you have no use if you have an existing provider.

Either they still operating on the mindset that DL>UL or they just don't know what they are doing. puke.gif

Signs of Desperation plan to me. Kind of like Jack of all Trade, Master of none.

Ikr this is so absurd for them.

300/50 <------- What a let down.
800/200 <------For real?

If consumer do research about the plan instead of hype for fast internet, Uxxfx will had a hard time getting money from consumer.

Dick move there Uxxfx.

Honestly for anything over 100Mbps, Maxis Fiber seems to be a better value.

Although knowing Maxis, I think there's FUP apply for their Fiber as well? (Something like 300GB Quota and No P2P and Public IP as well)

Wonder if anyone knows the Capacity of each FDC can provide?
Saw a new FDC being build just behind my house. Not sure will it be the FDC i will be connecting to as the location is a little bit odd.
Generally It's Users -> FDP -> FDC -> Exchange is that correct?

A 288 capacity ports cabinet means it can support upto a 72 strand fiber from the exchange office with each strand applied on a 1:4 splitter at the cabinet.

72 fibre strands x 4 = 288 ports

Each port will then go to a FDP with a 2nd level 1:8 splitter again.

1 x 4 x 8 = 32 ports

In total each port at the OLT will serve upto 32 ONTs.

What is an OLT at the exchange office/datacentre?

*
Interesting, Thanks for the Information on the capacity for the FDC notworthy.gif , If i Assume each port that is from the 288 port is for each back street lane (where the 1:8 Splitter conversion happen)
it will definitely have enough to cover quite a large Taman. So the only constraint will be the fiber length which from my understanding could deploy either underground or aerial.

It's hard to gauge which FDP are connected to which FDC in my area as i often saw FDP that are connected to an existing FDC thats around 1-2KM away.

Another question is that if the ISP wish to provide more bandwidth to each users, they would just need to swap out the Equipment (OLT?) in the Exchange station
and would not need to change out the cabling like existing ADSL/VDSL did?

Wow, Something Interesting just happen today.

Just as a recap, i have been lurking here for quite sometime complaining about the lack of Fiber in my area despite being surrounded by it.
There has been update from Tx Contractor trying to pull fibers as quick as possible and it's speculated that it's a move to counter TNB Allo Expansion.

Well today I got a message from contractor that TNB Allo will be available in my Taman and ask me details for subscriptions. So it makes sense now why their competitors are moving so
fast now after 10 years delay.

Perhaps...Ini kali lah to switch ISP drool.gif

Apparently TNB Allo Used the Electrical Pole for their expansion like they shown in the video?
I thought they will have dedicated Telecom Pole like Tx for Fiber lines.

But that will give them advantage on expanding quickly i think. hmm.gif

Good for you man. Meanwhile, TM still hasn't reply my MCMC report yet 😂 They are surely taking their sweet in replying but I noticed TM is doing something in my area. They already digging a hole and install something besides it. Might be an FDC since there's already a cement surface but no cabinet yet. Will keep my eye on it.

Hahahaha. Ini kalilah kasi switch to Allo.
*
Yeah, I hope it's not some Contractor give me some false promise. Even if i'm gonna wait for fiber might as well wait for Allo.
Especially the withdrawal fees from Tx 2 year contract from is bit ridiculous.

Haven't seen any activity from the Allo Contractor team. Wonder how long will it take to deploy their fiber if they are using the electrical pole.

Actually dave99021, based to my surveilling in Menglembu rollout, Allo used the mixture of existing electricity poles and newly lay poles (those with purple box paint).
[attachmentid=10578460]

Ps - will scout at PMU Gopeng Road soon
*
I see, I think that page got mention that new area will be using Electrical Pole rather than newly lay pole( presumably to reduce deployment time).
And i'm thinking are they doing that to bypass pulling underground cable from the FDC as well?

I will scout for Allo Fiber Activities around my area and update in this thread. although i'm not sure what i'm looking for as i think the fiber is not color coded ? hmm.gif

Mostly it will be "on poles" as i think it will be cheaper then laying underground [as seen in most MLBUA (Menglembu) cases].

Today I have make a trip around the botani/ampang side but it seem no work have been start yet. Maybe dave99021 have to wait for this few week.
*
Yeah, The contractor just said it will be available this year which means it will be ready by the end of Q4.
I will keep looking for their activities and update here

True, but there are 2 type of new poles tat was put up. The 1 tat you saw at FDP (mostly) are thinner version as it avoid using T× poles. If the cable passing some area that have no electricity pole, a bigger 1 is put in place and if the electricity poles too crowded, they too will put up new poles (most noticeable my house area - Tmn Sri Intan and Tmn Rasi).

[attachmentid=10579446]
Thinner version

[attachmentid=10579447]
Bigger version aka electricity type poles

I seem to have notice that their FDC is always in front of their Electrical Substation? Probably a good place to look out?

Just now around 4.20pm, i saw a few vehicle at PMU Jalan Gopeng but i dont see any converted shipping container there. Not sure Allo is using any existing building there.
*
What is the converted Shipping Container for? You mean for housing the central Fiber Equipment? (I don't know what's the right terminology, Exchange center?)

I believe i saw a Tender for TNB ALLO Seri Rapat. Maybe that's where they put their central fiber equipment

Yeah I also saw that yesterday and share it. Not sure why they remove it (Probably too early and still sorting some details ?)
But the fact that they post it means that it's should be official for my Taman. So will wait for ALLO rather than TM now

I think this not yet approve by Allo company, so main office ask the admin to remove it😂
*
From what i heard is that the agents are not supposed to have pre-registration when the infra are not finalized yet (which as they said could be ready by the end of this year)
Hence they remove it for not ( They only have list of Taman to Cover, but not the exact road listing and all that)

Just wishing that they would rapidly expand to areas that are neglected by that useless GLC TM.

Damn, their symmetrical 1Gbps sure is enticing.
*
Great for Business, but not sure how an average home user will utilize it.

I have the opportunity of trying out 500Mbps TIME connection and most of my download hardly exceed the 300mbps mark. (Limitation on most Uplink I guess)

Now if i were to host my own server than that will be a different story smile.gif

I LOLed hard at the halal Internet part.

I literally LOL at that, Unless they do Deep Packet Inspection or have similar mechanism like China Great Firewall . Otherwise Most will just change DNS or VPN the traffic to bypass I guess tongue.gif

Active P2P Fiber is similar to EPON? Theoretically better but very hard to scale and expensive to maintain it as well.
Probably that's why they failed I guess.
