If you pass me just the PCB, I guess, I can just do it for free as a courtesy, if there's any disassembly involved then it'll be my standard "minimum charging fee".

QUOTE(red streak @ Sep 18 2021, 10:33 PM) Applied PE switch foam to my board a few days back and the sound is definitely dampened quite a bit. Less clacky overall so I'm not sure how I feel about it. I actually kinda liked the original sound which was louder but it's much cleaner now. If you tape mod it, it might get louder and thoccier. Worth a shot for such a cheap and reversible mod. |

Q1 75%
Q2 65% Eventually they will have a Q series (aluminum) for every K series (plastic). Then they will have a lot of product segments covered. |

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Nov 14 2021, 09:12 PM) I wonder - when noobs like me use budget boards (RKG68 for me), then those Akko keycaps look so expensive (more than I paid for the board!). Really considered as budget? Anything cheaper will be a sidegrade. You might as well just wash your stock keycaps.Or buy used ducky, filco, leopold keycaps if you can find them for less tham rm100. PBT can tahan, ABS you need to look for shine Cause you can find akko for rm169 last time I looked. There's also taihao which at least has shinethrough and is slightly better than stock RK. And if you're not really a typist like me, dun underestimate the usefulness of shinethrough for late night gaming. To be honest, after experiencing my first GMK, Im ready to go back to shinethrough and rubber wasd keys. But that suits my needs. Your mileage may vary. |

QUOTE(heyamazingpeople @ Dec 20 2021, 03:24 PM) Skyloong GK96shttps://www.lazada.com.my/products/skyloong...1583507627.html? Should be similar quality to the RK. If you see an Epomaker GK96s, as far as I can tell they're the same thing. I built one Epomaker GK96 before. Its fine for the price. Plastic all around. But once you lube everything it should be fine. Didn't try the BT though so can't comment. Akko Mod004 https://shopee.com.my/Akko-Hot-Swappable-Cu...ff-9fc997652216 Full aluminum kit but you still have to buy switches and keycaps. But should be a lot nicer than the GK96s. And no BT. Keychron K4 v2 https://shopee.com.my/-Keychron-K4-V2-96-La...10-4c9515c9005e I suppose this beats the GK96s on account that it is full aluminum. I have no experience with this, but plenty of people do. I'm guessing should be better than the GK or a Tecware. |

That hpe one should be better. |

QUOTE(pandera999 @ Feb 10 2022, 09:58 PM) I've been thinking about for a while now. Too poor to throw money in the hobby. Maybe i should start selling my unused stuff.Anyway I was looking at akko clear asa keycaps (black) which will go well with a black feker but only one day, now no stock already. QUOTE(horns @ Feb 11 2022, 12:47 PM) here's a quick note on cn-made pcbs, in terms of qmk support. as of this writing, basically there are 3 categories: I dunno if this is the same thing but I loaded a china pcb (ncr80) json file into via and it worked on via np. Except everytime you wanna use via you need to load the json file.2. qmk support with their own qmk-configurator-like UI; usually a json file for the pcb is provided, so that you can load it with the provided UI, and make your own firmware; for the more advanterous, you can download the qmk source code generated from these sites (based on pretty old code base), modify and extend it to via/vial support; |

I just built a feker ik75. Great for the price. 1. Dont expect it flexi soft typing experience. Although, with the included PC plate and no standoffs, theres a very slight improvement there. 2. North facing led. Using oem profile now, and I confirm that I still prefer cherry. 3. Very muted with all the foam, but thats fine for me cause I use silent switches. 4. Biggest problem with this kit is the software. Cant change any layer 1 keys. Cant even add printscreen as its not in the options. Ended up using winShiftS. If you want macros, you have to sacrifice a key on layer 0. I requested a json or hex file to see if i can sideload that into via. No reply yet. 5. Happy to report that fps gaming on 2.4kHz is feasible. So far experienced 2 split second lag in game. If wired is 100, on 2.4 this is a 98. I think its good for the price only if you use it as is without changing the layout too much. This post has been edited by krayden: Feb 21 2022, 08:42 PM Moogle Stiltzkin liked this post

QUOTE(TristanX @ Mar 1 2022, 07:24 PM) The only keychron i have is a q1 which is fine for the money. The K series is known to be on the high side, so you might need a wrist rest. Also bluetooth wont be usable for fps gaming, otherwise should be fine. If you can wait, they will launch a metal version of the k10. Also maybe you can consider the k4 which has almost all the keys of a full size but less width. |

QUOTE(TristanX @ Mar 2 2022, 12:37 PM) Thanks. Yeah, this one I might use for travelling. K4 looks like it gets the job done for me. I see an RK100 with 2.4. No idea, never tried the brand but is pretty standard entry level stuff.Any other options for full size? Like the ones with wireless dongle. There's a Feker 940 v3 barebones kit. I have a Feker ik75 and its fine for the price, but my biggest problem is the lack of keymap customization. You wont need much since its almost a full size, but you have to sacrifice keys if you want to add any macros. The 2.4 works just fine for fps games. Cheap (cheaper on Taobao) and you can pick any switch and keycap you want (hotswap). I'm guessing you need the numpad right? |
