It's Zambumon's Lubrigante, but I added the full plate and took out some extra holes as well. I had the layers cut from Ponoko.
*
Oh nice, Zambumon is a great guy.

Are you in Malaysia? Mind sharing how much it costs for Ponoko to make and ship here?

Guys thinking of building for fun.
I just change my keyboard to linear, k70mk2.
Then I'm fall in love with mechanical keysss

What u guys think this cheap build?

Board kit hotswap, GMMK TKL RM299
Switches, Gateron Yellow. ( Get from taobao 90keys) RM60 or want go wild tangerine v2?
Keycaps, still don't know( looking at PBT)
Lube k205g0

Budget RM500 max. What u guys think?
*
Sounds like a good plan. I don't know how good GMMK stabs are, but I'd probably add on Cherry plate mount stabs.

Hey guys, anywhere that I can get GMK Nautilus keycaps? Seems like its sold out everywhere ohmy.gif
*
GMK keycaps and almost all other high end keycaps are group buy only. If you have missed the group buy, you can try to buy extras soon after they ship (hot designs usually sells out in minutes, already a few months too late in your case), get in on the aftermarket (at a significant price increase, even for used sets), or pray the designer runs another round of group buy, then pay for it and wait 8-24 months for it to be manufactured and shipped.

Yeah im waiting for extras after they ship to try my luck. Just got myself some interest in this custom keyboard thingy recently and somehow ended watching videos and searching for it haha, guess im late for this design haha.
The aftermarket is putting up quite a price hike, how much do ppl mark up from initial group buy price?
*
Ok, didn't realise there's a Nautilus R2 being manufactured now.

Well this guy sold his Nautilus R1 used for USD200.

Anyone know of any way to confirm key chatter? I am occasionally getting double nn and mm from my keeb, but testing with Switch Hitter does not show anything. I'm starting to wonder is it chatter or is it just my fingers too fat user error.

it's likely that the spring weight being too light for you. i think.

i have limited experience about this. believe it or not, i only experienced 2 incidents that were related to key chattering. the first one was gateron red with stock springs. once springs were swapped, problem's gone. another one was suspected to be related to firmware or controller, but i am lazy to find out.

Could be. I'm a pretty heavy typer. I'm already on 67g though.

another small update about switch film vendors. note that this is an OPTIONAL item to minimize switch top wobbles, and change typing feel and sound. you CAN opt to not using it.

1. tx, https://txkeyboard.com/ (2 types of thickness, the usual 0.15mm and the new 0.125mm)
2. kebo, https://kebo.store/products/switch-films
3. deskey, https://deskeys.io/
4. thicc, https://maartenwut.com/product/thicc-films/
5. kelowna, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=620073366941 (2 types; thickness: the double-layer HTV film is now 0.16mm (previously, 0.15mm); the previous MDI film is now EVA film, 0.3mm, similar to deskey's, but relatively cheaper)
6. kbdfans, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=627414114157 (2 types; thickness: 0.15mm)
7. durock, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=633069338401 (double-layer HTV film is 0.15mm; similar to kelowna's)
8. equalz, https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=634032504499 (material: TPU, soft material like deskey's; thickness: 0.18mm)

in general, PC films are hard, hence producing crispier sound; HTV is slightly softer than PC; and finally, MDI films are the softest, hence producing dampened sound.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. This needs to be on the first page.

BTW, do you think it's worthwhile salvaging films? Moving between WFH and on-site every few days, I'm transporting my keeb a lot these days. The other day I dropped it and broke the left CTRL switch(one of the pins snapped, switch was slightly above plate when I opened it). I threw the switch in the trash, but I can probably find it back to go and get the TX film that was in it.

Hi, I hope the sifus here can help enlighten me. I am looking for silent tactile switches. I have tried my friend's zilent switches and I like the bump on those switches. But I have also read that u4 switches are even better than zilent. What say you, sifus? Or is there any other switches out there that you would recommend for silent tactiles?
*
Gazzew Boba U4 is a relatively new switch, there won't be many people who have tried it. But the reviews of it have been superb.

It's relatively cheap so why don't you buy a few pieces to try? I'm thinking of getting some U4T switches myself. My experience with Aliaz has put me off silent tactiles.

What happened to you with Aliaz switches? U4T is the normal tactile switch, whereas U4 is the silent tactile, right?
*
After using Aliaz for some time, I realized that I much prefer the thock sound to silence. The mushy sound/feel on the upstroke was also annoying after awhile. Although that was maybe because I was using such a heavy spring (80g).

Yes, the T in the U4T stands for Thock. U4 is silent.

You can find the Aliexpress and Taobao vendors here:
