It's on the Hotlink Website now

https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plan/hotlink-...QkaAj-0EALw_wcB

Rm35 for unlimited data and calls but capped at 3 mbps.

Edited, RM35 is promotional price and normal price is RM38

Rm45 for 6 mbps speed and with unlimited calls and data

Edited, RM45 is promotional price and normal price is RM48.

However not stated when prices will increase

Also covered by soyacincau

https://www.soyacincau.com/2020/06/03/hotli...s-prepaid-plan/

What do you guys think, worth to jump over. Seems very good deal for Rm35 but is 3 mbps good enough for conference calls like zoom / teams and occasional YouTube

Yes , FAQ mention you need buy add-on for hotspot
https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/support/plans...imited/general/

But i wondering, can we buy add-on and set when to use it ?
Example
- buy 5GB addon ( 1week )

Use for hotspot , maybe used 3GB, remain 2GB

I believe later when we continue any usage,it will draw from add-on first.
(or they will give option to use add-on or not)

I'm still on the good old Hotlink Fast 3.0 plan. Thinking of upgrading to this unlimited plan. Any catch to take note of other than the speed and hotspot restriction?

The price of Rm35 and Rm45 is promotion price.

Nornal price is extra rm3

I am also on the fast 3.0 and thinking of changing due to the unlimited calls and data.

I only use for normal surfing and occasional con calls.

Telco can track based on users id.. Once it is identified that you fall under this account, your DL/UL will be restricted to 3 or 6 mbps

Maxis wants to differentiate their brand name.

Maxis as Premium and Hotlink as Mass Market

Any particular reason why they don't allow auto renewal foe this latest unlimited package? Is it because it's easier for the to stop the plan sometimes in the future?

Interesting plan but I feel a bit sayang to let go my Bagus WM plan since I occasionally buy validity 180 or 365.

A bit struggle without validity 180/365 because my credit often nearing inactive period (my fault because didn’t time properly when doing topup)

Possible. They can change the passes they offer anytime if no Auto renewal.

But given that this is a new plan with the 'unlimited' word in its name. Likely that the unlimited feature of this plan will stay and as long as one never switches to other plan.

Same like those who are fast plan still get 2GB weekend data which is meant to be forever.

If you are going for this plan you pretty much are expected to pay a fixed monthly fee which is rm35 (or rm38 after the promo price) in long run. To me it is totally fair price to pay for the package given.

I am on bagus WM plan but I only use it for voice/SMS only and not data since it does not have basic Internet and data will be on pay per use a bit risky if never monitor the usage of passes closely. And the monthly passes are not attractive at all and it is same price as the new plan monthly passes. So that time I need to combine usage with yes 4G 3Mbps/4Mbps unlimited prepaid plan at rm30/rm40 per month.

So this new plan is a no brainer for me.

Normally once you upgrade.. Then you can't turn back cos the red plan is considered old plan and no longer offered.

But you can try and call the Customer Service to ask

It should a 'renaming' of red plan with added free video data to make it more attractive.
for those who wants red plan limited data but with no speed cap.

people want choose this plan if they dun want to use the speed cap but unlimited plan.

no way.

however, you can actually change to the High-Speed Video Internet plan. it is actually having similar offering (in fact better) than last time Red Plan.

Now rm35 you can get 8GB. Last time red plan you only get 5GB.
Now rm45 gives u 10GB, last time rm45 only has 8GB.

it is kinda hit and miss with this plan, i tested and speed quite consistent get above 2Mbps and almost 3Mbps. sometimes everything works smoothly, like watching Youtube video, facebook video and web surfing, no problem stream music also. But sometimes wanna load one page also like taking ages to load and so super slow.

Will upgrading to 6Mbps help? wanna ask here, can i just buy 6Mbps plan next month and try for 1 month? and then if i find no difference in the speed, at least example I still kena the webpage load slowly on 6Mbps plan, i can then change back to 3Mbps plan the next next month?

I’ve been trying the 6Mbps pass for a few days now and it’s been great so far. Speed is stable and consistent throughout the day except from evening around 8PM - 12AM where speed can drop to below 3Mbps sometimes but otherwise still working, just slightly slower compared to the rest of day.

This.. the 3.0 has 1gb 1hr free daily and 1gb/day for weekend for 4G.
Can tether also.
I’m still on the 3.0 and thinking it’s still more worth overall.

you are referring to the previous red plan? of course no more. this is a brand new plan.

however, with the 'unlimited' internet, why bother about the 1gb high speed internet anymore?

urs is hotlink fast i supposed?

it comes with 2GB weekend data permanently rite? did not know it comes with free 1GB data daily also.
but the bad part about hotlink fast the legacy plan is that it does not come with basic Internet. so if you dun have a internet pass, it will incur pay per use data charge and all your credit balance can be gone in no time.

but the free 2GB weekend data forver is indeed attractive.

however, with the new unlimited plan, i find it more worth it even compare to hotlink fast.
although hotlink fast comes 2GB weekend free, you still need to top up a min rm30 monthly to keep the line active and likely you need to activate a monthly pass for the usage beyond that. you need to pay for calls also.

rm35 fixed price then without the need to worry about extra charges for calls or data, that's the best deal.
somemore now top up has offer, rm30 top up gets extra rm5, just nice to activate rm35 3Mbps unlimited internet pass.

rm30 per month nett price to pay. dun think the old plan can fight even.

you are referring to the previous red plan? of course no more. this is a brand new plan.

however, with the 'unlimited' internet, why bother about the 1gb high speed internet anymore?
urs is hotlink fast i supposed?

it comes with 2GB weekend data permanently rite? did not know it comes with free 1GB data daily also.
but the bad part about hotlink fast the legacy plan is that it does not come with basic Internet. so if you dun have a internet pass, it will incur pay per use data charge and all your credit balance can be gone in no time.

hi, I think u confuse Fast plan with some othe plans.
Fast plan DOES NOT have PPU.
u have to buy internet plan to visit internet.
if bought weekly or monthly plan, u can claim 1GB for 1hour free data everyday (as long as the internet plan is still activated ).
and the 2GB weekends free data for 4G only (mean cannot use at 3G)
have to keep account activated , so that u can use the internet u bought...

nevertheless, the unlimited plan is better in anyway no matter how the legacy plans are. this is the key conclusion.

Hmm i believe there is some basic internet at very slow speed.. encountered it few times when quota finished but didn’t realise until started surfing web. Whatsapp worked for messages..

Yeah fast 3.0.. old plan. No there is no ppu charges. The internet just become real slow.
U can buy add ons for calls if call a lot for cheaper cost but it takes monitoring which could be a hassle. I hardly do voice calls.. mostly on WhatsApp for calling so doesn’t matter for me.

True.. cost wise I typically top up around rm50 and buy the monthLy rm35 package. I get the rm3/week add on for music unlimited. 1gb is free daily for 1hr and I can upsize to 2gb for 2hrs at rm1 daily. So i can like use this as a booster daily if needed.

One needs to realise the New plan speed is capped.. 3 or 6mps max. As a reference my uncapped speed is ranging 50mpbs to 100mpbs in my area. Whether 3-6mbps is enough depends on your usecase. For me I find that speed quite limiting couple with the tethering limitation.

There are MU deals for the 3.0 that changes daily and some are really good. Since mco started till last week I had been buying at only rm3.50 per week data for 250mb+20gb.... thats 20.25gb at rm3.50!.. And I didn’t have to buy the rm35 package which saved me quite a bundle.. no free daily 1gb thou which is fine. This week the deals on MU are not good.. will see if it improves.

Your calculations are wrong as you have doubles counted

Your rm30 top up is part of the Rm35 for the HUP35 plan

You need to top up RM 30 for the 30 day validity and plus another RM5

Then you can subscribe to the Rm35 HUP

Only if you buy a relevant pass to enable hotspot. Otherwise it won’t work. Or if you have a modified modem, that may work. But it’s a matter of time before that is blocked by the relevant telco too, like what Digi Postpaid 80 and 100 Infinite users are complaining recently with their modified Huawei modem.

later i paid rm 35 for the unlimited data+calls

next month how?
i top up rm 30? then buy unlimited data+calls for rm 35?

When you too up rm30 +RM5, your credit will be Rm35 with 30 days validity period.

When you buy the HUP Plan of RM35, it will be deducted from your earlier credit which is rn35, so your credit will be RM0

BUT you will have the HUP Plan that also has 30 days validity and provided you also bought the HUP on the same day as your top up earlier, they have the same validity period.

But with RM0 credit, you will not be able to buy any additional add on that is available such as daily or weekly high speed Internet passes

Hope that is clearer to you

I'll wait & see 1st cos now have the RM18 for 30 days offer(3.5GB). Cheaper & I use mostly for internet anyway.

Unlimited plan doesnt include in validity. If I upgrade, later cannot go back to my current plan. Currently I can buy the 3 month or 365 days validity, old number. .
My concern is if no more buy validity benefits when I upgrade to Unlimited. Asked Hotlink, no reply yet.

Validity is useful. The whole MCO until 9 June, I dont need to buy mobile internet pass. Just used the free 1GB whenever I go out.

Are you talking about bagus plan? If you upgrade, there is no option to buy 3 months/yearly validity anymore.

FYI I have 1 number on bagus plan, 1 number on hotlink fast 3.0

My current plan is bagus plan too. Already bought 365 validity and it lasts until September.

As I am not in bolehland now, will only upgrade the plan the later. The unlimited plan to be is perfectly fine.

I was paying rm30 for yes prepaid unlimited data plan also.

Does the Hotlink Unlimited cones with its own validity? For example, if I have rm35 left with 5 days validity, then I subscribed to rm35 hup plan, will I be able to use internet & make calls for the next 30 days or only for 5 days existing to my original credit validity?

I have oneXOX(2nd sim) as data for my bagus plan number. It’s more than enough every month @500mb. I would actually like to do that on my primary hotlink fast number as well now since covid19 hardly travel anywhere already but it’s on an iphone sad.gif looking into XOX’s eSim now. I only need data to/from work and weekends.

My data usage has always been around 1GB even before Covid19 but I can't switch telco. Reliability Maxis/Hotlink has been the best so far.

Maxis>Umobile>Celcom>Digi (my opinion for my location)

Reason why Digi is last is because at home no line. I think someone was using signal jammer when I was testing. I had no problem when outdoors. sad.gif

Is 3 mbps sufficient for mobile phone youtube surfing at 360p? Currently using digi postpaid 80 and normally don't utilize all the data (40gb normal + 30gb youtube), thinking of changing to this prepaid plan.

Not a heavy internet user, just want to make sure no lagging when watching YouTube videos.

Bought a hotlink sim card at 7-11 today and did self-registration online then can use almost immidiately.

Now plugged into my gaming mobile and see how smooth the experience.
So far no problem for youtube, fb, IG or website browsing.
Update apps also not problem.
Evening or after working hours also no problem at the moment.
wanted to try few more days and see how is the performance. Will consider to port my main number to hotlink for better coverage.

Hotlink gonna launch new postpaid plan

Might be better for those who don't need 50 gb of data but wants faster speed and hassle of monthly reload

Hi,
If I buy Hotlink unlimited plan today and activate, top up RM30.
But I do not purchase any internet pass,
2 weeks later, I purchased the unlimited monthly plan RM35.
Will I face any validity problem?
Will I be able to use for another 30days counting from day 20th?
Or I will only have 10 days validity remain?

I found the answer

Your Service(s) Lifecycle
Your top-up amount for prepaid services will determine the number of active-days to make calls, SMS, and access to the internet (“Active Period”).
After the Active Period ends, you can only receive incoming calls and SMS' until the next top up or 50 days from the end of Active Period, whichever is earlier (“Credit Grace Period”). During the Credit Grace Period, all or any balance from unutilised credit and/or mobile internet passes will be suspended from usage until the next top-up.
You must top-up to resume full Service(s). Failure to top-up before the end of the Credit Grace Period will result in line termination.
Unlimited calls are applicable to calls to Maxis network, other telco networks and fixed lines.

Unlimited calls are applicable to calls to Maxis network, other telco networks and fixed lines.

rm45, 6mbps.

tested a day, no issues so far during peak and non peak period.

tested indoor and outdoor, at the moment, no lagging issues. Been using this plan to surf net, youtube, rpg gaming, netflix, iflix, astro go, shopee, fb, IG and also video conferencing.

call quality a bit not clear and robotic sometime. facetime no problems at the moment.

will continue to use for a month and lets see hows the perfomance.

so far speedtest around 3-4mbps whole day. tested both selangor and ipoh area. I bought plan rm45+rm5 hotspot.

Have no problem surfing youtube, watching Hk dramas from website and zoom meeting.

Also able to play some online game with less lag even on hotspot sharing

I am thinking of switching my main line to maxis. But their postpaid so expensive. Another down side was prepaid dont hv Volte or vowifi, especially when indoor signal very weak. I am still considering.

Calls quality i can say ok, acceptable. But definitely not the clearest. Compared with Umobile’s Volte and Vowifi, UM will win for the call quality.

For whatsapp call and facetime call, Maxis very stable but not clear also. If compare with celcom, definitely Maxis better.

A quick one. I'm currently on Hotlink Fast 3.0 and before I upgrade to this New Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited with claimed unlimited internet passes, I need to confirm few things to avoid making a big mistake since I am aware there is no turning back after changing plans.

I have gone into the Hotlink website and checked a little. What I found is there is this Fair Usage Policy (FUP). Hah, I knew there must be a catch somewhere. To cut a long story short ;

1. For this New Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited, say for the 3Mbps for 30 days at RM35, is it correct that the pass is actually LIMITED to 50GB under FUP for 30 days? So before the end of 30 days, say on the 15th day when the user has used up 50GB, then the speed will not be 3Mbps anymore but throttled or reduced to 512kbps. Correct?

2. The unlimited calls under this New Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited are applicable to ALL numbers and telcos?

Any insight appreciated.

Telco typically has term and conditions for the unlimited calls and certain special numbers are not free

You can refer to maxis terms which should also apply for Hotlink

https://www.maxis.com.my/en/terms-condition...maxis-postpaid/

Unlimited Minutes and SMS'

11 You acknowledge and accept, for the voice & SMS' allocated with the Plan(s) that the unlimited minutes and SMS' applies to:

a) domestic mobile ON-net usage (Maxis to Maxis calls and SMS’) for Maxis Postpaid lite & start (excluding OFF-net usage (calls and SMS’ from Maxis to other Service Provider), calls to fixed lines, video calls, calls to numbers with special charges e.g. 1-300/1-700/600 & 121, TM100, 1MOCC and 080-prefix numbers for border calls to Brunei).

b). domestic mobile/fixed ON-net & OFF-net usage for Maxis Postpaid 98, 108, 128, 158 & 188 (excluding, video calls, calls to numbers with special charges e.g. 1-300/1-700/600, 121, TM100, 1MOCC & 080-prefix numbers for border calls to Brunei).

Thanks for the information. Looks a bit complicated but I presume calls to fixed telephone lines such as 03-6274 5521 or 05-xxx xxxx are free of charge. Similarly to Maxis and Hotlink numbers will be free. Calls to Digi, Celcom or other service providers may not be free.

The answers to both questions is Yes.

Believe that there is a porting charge of rm5

If you download the Hotlink App, you can see the charge for switching plan but note once you have switched, you cannot switch back to your old plan

The unlimited free calls cover all fixed lines in Malaysia regardless of service carrier provider (03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 082, 083, 084, 085, 086, 087, 088, 089, 09) and all mobile numbers (010, 011, 012, 013, 014, 016, 017, 018, 019). This means all calls to Maxis, Digi, Celcom, U Mobile, Yes 4G and all of their MVNO mobile numbers are free.

I just checked and notice I use up to 100GB a month (including hotspot) coz WFH now. If I upgrade from my current Hotlink Red to this unlimited pass, and finish the 50GB FUP mid month, and then purchase the add-on internet, will I still be restricted by the 50GB monthly FUP? Can’t find info on this on their FAQ site... sad.gif

Thanks. I have switched to this New Unlimited Prepaid several days ago and tested.

All telephone calls are free except numbers with 1-300-xx-xxxx
I just called Bank Negara today with the above number and after the call ended, I noticed I was charged RM6.60 for the call which lasted more than 5 minutes.

Not sure about this FUP during MCO where speeds are throttled to 512kbps from 8pm to 12am but this morning 8am until now, I don't know why the speed is so slow?? The websites I was accessing all cannot load or requires very long time to load. Sometimes hang also. I called up Hotlink and they have made a report for me.

Terrible. I thought with this new plan it will be smooth sailing with good speeds and no interruption with web surfing but I'm now experiencing slow speed and the websites sometimes cannot load.

Does anyone know how to check the balance of 50GB before the FUP kicks in and the speed is reduced to 512kbps? This information is not available on the Hotlink Red app??

Just a heads-up. Just read this article on The Star online this morning. Apparently MCMC had served notices to 4 telco companies for without being completely transparent on this FUP thing. Maxis is one of them.

"MCMC said it is taking action to protect consumer interest following a newspaper report on telcos promising unlimited Internet data experience without detailing how some users may experience reduced speed after exceeding a certain usage quota.

The commission is also urging users to fully understand all information behind any plans that are being offered before deciding to purchase or subscribe. They are also reminded to subscribe to a plan based on their own usage and needs."

This depends on the offer which could be differently for different users

However from my experience the offer only valid a few days before your actual expiry of the credit

If you top up on the actual date of expiry of after notice I don't have any free credit offer

i saw the new 18mbps rm60 monthly pass, if i used up all 50GB of the 3,6, or 18mbps pass, can i buy new monthly pass to get back 50GB or have to wait for the old pass to expire first?

Hmm I'll try it out later too, tomorrow 4pm my 6mbps pass expires

UPDATE: tested, constantly spamming downloads until my 50GB FUP used up before my pass expires, bought another pass and got full speed as the new plan back.

different place different congestion.

mine always 6mbps, 20-50mbps if buy unlimited rm1 per hour

ah ok...so there is a possibility that even if i upgrade to the 18mbps plan, i may still lag when watching movies..due to the congestions at my area...got it, thanks bro!

if you are on any unlimited plan like daily rm3, rm12 weekly or monthly unlimited 3 or 6 mbps, you can buy the add on rm1 - 1 hour unlimited to test your max speed

This depends on the offer which could be differently for different users

However from my experience the offer only valid a few days before your actual expiry of the credit

If you top up on the actual date of expiry of after notice I don't have any free credit offer
*
so now we know, the so called offer/bonus is actually coming with a purpose, that is to 'buy back' the validity.
so that we will spend more than RM1 a day.

lets say we topped up for RM30 for 30 days.
offer is given if we topped up again in the first 28 days
if we topped up on day 28, then 2 days of validity will be 'burned'.

im now using hotlink FAST. is there any new plan available? i feel like this plan is too expensive. every month i need to topup a certain amount otherwise will get barred. i feel like maxis is really outdated. even top tier pass also only provides 10GB data per month (for rm70). free 1GB a day? what can you do with 1GB data today?? opening google image also need to think TWICE!

hey bro, i was wondering how's the speed of this ''18mbps''? i am currently using the ''6mbps'' plan, seems laggy when i watch movies online..stop-play-stop-play...it doesn't feel like its 6mbps to me...how was the 6mbps earlier? how much did u feel the difference?
*
Where u watch movies online? If those free websites then its the website problem most of the time. Even on home fibre 100mbps also it will lag.

I watch netflix on 3mbps Hotlink no lag at all.

With this new unlimited prepaid package, i don't think it's still relevant to use postpaid. On daily usage most people don't care about the speed at all even 3mbps is more than enough. The only cons that i can think of may be need to topup every month. This is applicable if you have faster connection at home.

However i still respect other people's choices who don't have the wifi connection at home. The might need larger quota and faster connection.

Just my 2 cent.

For casual browsing, Whatsapp, Telegram, some YouTube and Netflix in 720p are enough for me. However, you need to check the coverage where you usually get to. If 3mbps gives u bad experience, just stick to 6mbps or other faster speed. The FUP is still 50GB.

From my experience, i have tested all telcos and maxis/hotlink gives the best experience in terms of coverage and stability. Not to say there are perfect, faced several network issue as well but not as much as other telcos.

Quick question - if you purchase the monthly pass and hit the FUP limits earlier than 30 days, can you buy another monthly pass so that you won't be capped at 512kbps, or you must buy the daily or weekly add-on pass until current monthly pass expires?

Hi All,

Got a question. The plan on Hotlink Prepaid Fast.

RM 30 (SIM 365 days)
RM 30 (20GB 365 days validity)

Is there a Talktime Service for this plan?
(Example, like RM10 for 30min Talktime)

Ok I'm now interested in this because of 'unlimited hotspot'

user posted image

My daily usage is watching YouTube (manually set at 480p) for at least 3 hours a day, stream some movies on Viu, D+, HBOMax and Kodi, twice or thrice a week.

Would it be enough? Would my daily usage hit the supposingly allocated FUP limit?

would like to ask,

1. how do i remove the credit card details? hotlink stated it will saved and remember my credit card details for future payments and i cant find any settings to remove it
2. how do i check how much data i have used? i dont see any indicator showing that.

1 hour video on youtube (1080p) is around 1GB. do the math u will know if it is enough. set at 480p probably half the usage.

1. no idea. i never add any payment method in my hotlink app at all. every time top up just manually done via credit card or online banking.

2. no way to check usage, if u are on unlimited plan. but hotlink will sms u when u are about to finish ur 50GB before the throttled (if not wrong).

dun go for 3Mbps, u can only stream video on youtube at 480p by default (unless u manually set to 720p or 1080p which it will cause the video not able to be loaded becos of the slow speed or u need to wait for the buffering which may not complete also).

spending extra rm10 for 2x more speed is certainly worth it for overall better experience.

for my own experience with hotlink unlimited plan is bad, i experienced a lot of blind spots in jaybee and i often encounter problem connecting to internet even for surfing web. or video streaming will be stuck while i am on the go (driving).

i am quite surprised that maxis network can be that bad now, previously my experience on maxis postpaid is quite ok. not sure why hotlink is such bad. i tot they should be similar since all on maxis network.

even i use my hotlink sim card to subscribe plan that has uncapped speed data, still the same. it is more of the network coverage issue or network congestion or blind spot and nothing to do with the plan.

Somehow maxis has blind spots or network congestion issues even with coverage.

Yeah min 6Mbps to load FHD. But I had used hotlink unlimited and no speed cap plans both also do not give consistent result.

that's why i keep looking for the details, unfortunately not much info from their website.

What i understand from the unlimited pass, it's unlimited but capped.

that's why i keep looking for the details, unfortunately not much info from their website.

What i understand from the unlimited pass, it's unlimited but capped.
Fast pass, limited but uncapped. - but still feel like it's capped haha

Yeah the speed is bad. I bought the rm30 20GB data supposed to be uncapped speed data but it is bad.

With coverage but data is not moving.

Unlimited plan have speed cap maximum 3mbps.
But i assume that should be sufficient to load youtube as well.

im using Fast plan, really slow recently..

3Mbps is slow for YouTube. Can only load 480p by default.

Hi all, want to ask about the top up promo. I'm in Hotlink Unlimited plan, and the top up promo always "Top Up RM30 for Free2GB for 1 day (Card)". I never receive any other promo like free credit. Is it randomized or something weird to my account? Or do I need to change it?
