It's on the Hotlink Website now

https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plan/hotlink-...QkaAj-0EALw_wcB

Rm35 for unlimited data and calls but capped at 3 mbps

Rm45 for 6 mbps speed and with unlimited calls and data

Also covered by soyacincau

https://www.soyacincau.com/2020/06/03/hotli...s-prepaid-plan/

What do you guys think, worth to jump over.  Seems very good deal for Rm35 but is 3 mbps good enough for conference calls like zoom / teams and occasional YouTube
*
no brainer. best prepaid deal ever.

totally beat any other telco upside down with this new plan.

Currently im topping up RM40 every month and spending RM35 on the 5GB monthly pass. This unlimited plan seems like a much better deal
*
no brainer. 5GB is too little.

Any particular reason why they don't allow auto renewal foe this latest unlimited package? Is it because it's easier for the to stop the plan sometimes in the future?
*
Possible. They can change the passes they offer anytime if no Auto renewal.

But given that this is a new plan with the 'unlimited' word in its name. Likely that the unlimited feature of this plan will stay and as long as one never switches to other plan.

Same like those who are fast plan still get 2GB weekend data which is meant to be forever.

Interesting plan but I feel a bit sayang to let go my Bagus WM plan since I occasionally buy validity 180 or 365.

A bit struggle without validity 180/365 because my credit often nearing inactive period (my fault because didn’t time properly when doing topup)
*
If you are going for this plan you pretty much are expected to pay a fixed monthly fee which is rm35 (or rm38 after the promo price) in long run. To me it is totally fair price to pay for the package given.

I am on bagus WM plan but I only use it for voice/SMS only and not data since it does not have basic Internet and data will be on pay per use a bit risky if never monitor the usage of passes closely. And the monthly passes are not attractive at all and it is same price as the new plan monthly passes. So that time I need to combine usage with yes 4G 3Mbps/4Mbps unlimited prepaid plan at rm30/rm40 per month.

So this new plan is a no brainer for me.

still puzzle, what situation people want this 10GB video plan? (only for HD i dont see other benefits)
unlimited plan still can watch youtube movie thru app right?
*
It should a 'renaming' of red plan with added free video data to make it more attractive.
for those who wants red plan limited data but with no speed cap.

people want choose this plan if they dun want to use the speed cap but unlimited plan.

QUOTE(obelickz @ Jun 8 2020, 03:01 PM)
how to rollback from unlimited plan to red plan?
*
no way.

however, you can actually change to the High-Speed Video Internet plan. it is actually having similar offering (in fact better) than last time Red Plan.

Now rm35 you can get 8GB. Last time red plan you only get 5GB.
Now rm45 gives u 10GB, last time rm45 only has 8GB.

But you dont get the daily free 1GB high speed internet anymore right?
*
you are referring to the previous red plan? of course no more. this is a brand new plan.

however, with the 'unlimited' internet, why bother about the 1gb high speed internet anymore?

QUOTE(labamba @ Jun 14 2020, 12:50 AM)
This.. the 3.0 has 1gb 1hr free daily and 1gb/day for weekend for 4G.
Can tether also.
I’m still on the 3.0 and thinking it’s still more worth overall.
*
urs is hotlink fast i supposed?

it comes with 2GB weekend data permanently rite? did not know it comes with free 1GB data daily also.
but the bad part about hotlink fast the legacy plan is that it does not come with basic Internet. so if you dun have a internet pass, it will incur pay per use data charge and all your credit balance can be gone in no time.

but the free 2GB weekend data forver is indeed attractive.

however, with the new unlimited plan, i find it more worth it even compare to hotlink fast.
although hotlink fast comes 2GB weekend free, you still need to top up a min rm30 monthly to keep the line active and likely you need to activate a monthly pass for the usage beyond that. you need to pay for calls also.

rm35 fixed price then without the need to worry about extra charges for calls or data, that's the best deal.
somemore now top up has offer, rm30 top up gets extra rm5, just nice to activate rm35 3Mbps unlimited internet pass.

rm30 per month nett price to pay. dun think the old plan can fight even.

hi, I think u confuse Fast plan with some othe plans.
Fast plan DOES NOT have PPU.
u have to buy internet plan to visit internet.
if bought weekly or monthly plan, u can claim 1GB for 1hour free data everyday (as long as the internet plan is still activated ).
and the 2GB weekends free data  for 4G only (mean cannot use at 3G)
have to keep account activated , so that u can use the internet u bought...
*
nevertheless, the unlimited plan is better in anyway no matter how the legacy plans are. this is the key conclusion.

Are you talking about bagus plan? If you upgrade, there is no option to buy 3 months/yearly validity anymore.

FYI I have 1 number on bagus plan, 1 number on hotlink fast 3.0
fixed
*
My current plan is bagus plan too. Already bought 365 validity and it lasts until September.

As I am not in bolehland now, will only upgrade the plan the later. The unlimited plan to be is perfectly fine.

I was paying rm30 for yes prepaid unlimited data plan also.

I have oneXOX(2nd sim) as data for my bagus plan number. It’s more than enough every month @500mb. I would actually like to do that on my primary hotlink fast number as well now since covid19 hardly travel anywhere already but it’s on an iphone sad.gif looking into XOX’s eSim now. I only need data to/from work and weekends.
only for 5 days. top up validity to use back subscribed  data/calls/sms.
*
indeed. during this period, one will need much lesser data on the go than before.

rm45, 6mbps.

tested a day, no issues so far during peak and non peak period.

tested indoor and outdoor, at the moment, no lagging issues. Been using this plan to surf net, youtube, rpg gaming, netflix, iflix, astro go, shopee, fb, IG and also video conferencing.

call quality a bit not clear and robotic sometime. facetime no problems at the moment.

will continue to use for a month and lets see hows the perfomance.
*
actually if can get full speed of 3Mbps, stream youtube video at 1080p should also be ok with a little bit of buffering at first.

With this new unlimited prepaid package, i don't think it's still relevant to use postpaid. On daily usage most people don't care about the speed at all even 3mbps is more than enough. The only cons that i can think of may be need to topup every month. This is applicable if you have faster connection at home.

However i still respect other people's choices who don't have the wifi connection at home. The might need larger quota and faster connection.

Just my 2 cent.

Totally make sense.

What happened to the Hotlink top-up offer or HotlinkMU offer? No more regular offer as usual anymore?

yeah totally no more for quick some time. Luckily from previous offers top up quite a lot. Now got a lot of credits left too.

Ok I'm now interested in this because of 'unlimited hotspot'

user posted image

My daily usage is watching YouTube (manually set at 480p) for at least 3 hours a day, stream some movies on Viu, D+, HBOMax and Kodi, twice or thrice a week.

Would it be enough? Would my daily usage hit the supposingly allocated FUP limit?
*
1 hour video on youtube (1080p) is around 1GB. do the math u will know if it is enough. set at 480p probably half the usage.

hi all, i just topup using credit card and subscribed to hotlink rm40 3mbps which has unlimited data.

would like to ask,

1. how do i remove the credit card details? hotlink stated it will saved and remember my credit card details for future payments and i cant find any settings to remove it
2. how do i check how much data i have used? i dont see any indicator showing that.
*
1. no idea. i never add any payment method in my hotlink app at all. every time top up just manually done via credit card or online banking.

2. no way to check usage, if u are on unlimited plan. but hotlink will sms u when u are about to finish ur 50GB before the throttled (if not wrong).

Exactly.
I haven't tried 3mpbs before, thinking of trying it as my new area most telcos are doing poorly. So, 3mpbs is good enough for casual browsing, YouTube?
Tq
*
dun go for 3Mbps, u can only stream video on youtube at 480p by default (unless u manually set to 720p or 1080p which it will cause the video not able to be loaded becos of the slow speed or u need to wait for the buffering which may not complete also).

spending extra rm10 for 2x more speed is certainly worth it for overall better experience.

for my own experience with hotlink unlimited plan is bad, i experienced a lot of blind spots in jaybee and i often encounter problem connecting to internet even for surfing web. or video streaming will be stuck while i am on the go (driving).

i am quite surprised that maxis network can be that bad now, previously my experience on maxis postpaid is quite ok. not sure why hotlink is such bad. i tot they should be similar since all on maxis network.

even i use my hotlink sim card to subscribe plan that has uncapped speed data, still the same. it is more of the network coverage issue or network congestion or blind spot and nothing to do with the plan.
