For Hotlink Unlimited Plan, does the unlimited calls include special numbers like 1-800 etc?

I see no asterisk in the website under 'Unlimited Calls' and cant find anything under the package TNC.
*
1-800 is always free whether you’re calling from fixed or mobile lines. 1-300 is chargeable. 15454 (TNB) is chargeable too.

Too bad almost all line in malaysia is 1300...sweat.gif

So far all the hotlines i usually call have 1800 or 03 numbers too. The banks, airlines, telcos etc. I do not have to pay extra for phone call for a very long time already.

Which bank are you referring to ? I never had to call a 1300 hotline whenever I needed to call the banks. Yes. I’m referring to all the 9 anchor banks as well as the Big 5 international banks.

Both are Maxis hotline but no harm to try.

Don’t bother sending them a message on Twitter now if it’s an urgent matter. They are still understaffed and only reply your message every 10 hours or so.

Agree. Last week I tried to contact them to ask about Maxis Fibre availability, I takes more than 24 hours for them to address my inquiry.

However, I have very good experience with Maxis Listens before PKP though. And I praised them and Celcom's Twitter for prompt and friendly response. Don't have good experience with Digi and U Mobile's response. Very slow and sometimes takes more than a week to response on my simple inquiries.
*
Agreed. Maxis becomes very slow only after the start of MCO in mid-March. Before that it was very fast in attending Twitter DM. And yes. Digi has always been slow. I still got one Twitter DM from 8 years ago that they never replied! If not mistaken, Digi call centre too is no longer 24 hours now. But this has been so since last year.

The maximum duration per call from Maxis and Hotlink hasn’t changed. It is still 2 hours per call and it will get cut off automatically when time is up. I tried this yesterday from my Hotlink number and my mom’s Maxis number to another Hotlink number.

I have no problem scrolling and watching videos on Twitter but Reddit kinda sluggish a bit.

Lowyat forum? No problem.
Gmail? No problem.

Btw I still can play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with <80 pings.

Pretty good considering 512 kbps.
*
That is the reason many say Maxis have superior network quality, because I do not think the internet can work anymore if the speed is capped to 512kbps on Digi. For Digi the speed needs to be at least 2Mbps for the internet to run smoothly, anything below 2Mbps the Internet is going to be either slow or totally unusable. The many different telcos may show the same 3Mbps speedtest result, but actual surfing experience on some telco may be faster and smoother.

I am hotlink user...if wanna upgrade have to change sim or what?
*
You don’t have to change to a new SIM card. Just do a one-time upgrade on Hotlink app and pay RM5. That’s all.

guys, today i tried to find hotlink fast plan at maxis store but unable to find already, only left with this prepaid unlimited plan, is the fast plan discontinued already? I need the fast plan is because I need the weekend free 1gb only as during normal day I will be at home using wifi
*
Hotlink Fast was phased out a long time ago and was replaced by Hotlink Red. But now Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited and Hotlink Prepaid Video have replaced Hotlink Red.

512kbps on DiGi network would get 1000ms ping, DiGi always the stupid choice.
*
The internet is as good as dead on Digi if the speed is hovering around 512kbps. Some websites may still move at 1Mbps but it’s going to be intermittently slow. On Digi the speed needs to be at least 2Mbps for it to work smoothly.

Hi sifus need some advise newbie here. Been using hotlink fast since 2014 and then HUP came out and it seems worth the money. But i see some telco like yoodo also offers good deal as well. Which one should i swich to?
*
If you want high data with unlimited call, Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited is the clear winner here. Besides, since you’re already a Hotlink user, upgrade can be done right away on the Hotlink app.

Hotlink FAST has hotspot bundled with any passes? If yes; stay with FAST. Unless you don't need hotspot "all the time", then, HUP35/45 is the way to go. Bear in mind that once upgraded to HPU, cannot downgrade to FAST anymore.
*
Hotspot is free for Hotlink FAST. Nearest plan to Hotlink FAST now is Hotlink Prepaid Video which also comes with free hotspot with any internet pass.

still need to go thru lazada buy new nunber? i wanna use back my old number. always prompt buy now. sorry 1st time do that.
*
No you don’t have to buy a new number. You do need to pay a one-time RM5 upgrade fee though and all these can be done on the Hotlink app.

Hotlink app > Settings > Rate Plan > Upgrade > Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited

Call helpline 123, speak to CS. They will guide you on how to do it.
Need to do it through the phone, not the app if you want to retain the number, I forgotten the steps.
I previously helped my maid to change.
*
Can be done on Hotlink app too. Most of us upgraded via the app.

Can u /some one rank telco in kk , specifically?
In term of coverage n generally internet performance?
I asked cos im not in sabah.

I know in swak, generally
Celcom
Maxis
Digi
In that order, but oso, from town to town oso. Cant comment more.
*
1. Digi & Celcom (it is a tie)
2. Maxis

My house is in the city centre, near to Sembulan and performs really well here. It also performs very well in Lido, Lintas, Luyang and Damai area (all these are the suburbs). Outside KK, there was still no Maxis 4G service in certain towns. That was more than 2 years ago thought. I don’t know if things have changed since. But inside my house in KK, my Digi 4G+ is faster than Maxis 4G, signal reception is stronger too. In Lido area, Maxis has very poor indoor coverage. Not sure why though.

Personally I would recommend Digi for people staying in KK. If KL then it’s definitely Maxis because in my house in KL, Maxis is markedly more stable and faster biggrin.gif

Please bare in mind that once "upgraded" to HPU, cannot downgrade back to the old Hotlink RED... So, if that 20++Mbps DL speed matters a lot, ignore HPU...
*
One still can change over to Hotlink Prepaid Video to subscribe to normal pass with uncapped speed.

____

btw does anyone knows when is this prepaid plan likely going to end? wanna do mnp in mid next month, worry that this plan might be taken down anytime soon.
*
The plan should still be there as long as you remain on the plan, just like those on Hotlink Fast plan continues to enjoy 1GB free 4G data every Saturdays and Sundays respectively despite that the plan is no longer on sale.
