That’s for the 10% app discount offer. Not to be confused with the RM35/RM45 pass.Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited 2020 V1, 2am-2pm uncapped speed with free hotspot

There is no mention anywhere that these unlimited data passes are to be valid until Dec 2020 only. Kindly refrain from spreading fake news.
One thing everyone should be noted is, RM35 and RM45 are promo price. The actual retail price is RM38 and RM48 respectively. Hotlink however did not write anywhere how long these promo prices will last. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jun 4 2020, 01:33 PM |

QUOTE(NooBiE888 @ Jun 5 2020, 03:34 PM) At maxis center now. It has always been doable as long as you are not under contract. They call this service migration. I believe the confusion comes from Hotlink Postpaid Flex, because if you are Maxis Postpaid user, then you can’t migrate from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Postpaid Flex. They say can move from postpaid to prepaid. Subjected to it's same under hotlink. |

If you guys look anywhere on Maxis website, there is mention of Fair Usage Policy (FUP) applies. But there is no clear mention of the actual number. Even for Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre, it only says Maxis “MAY” manage your video streaming speed after you’ve exceeded 300GB of mobile data usage per billing cycle but there is no mention they will definitely throttle your data speed. But even amongst Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre subscribers, the feedbacks vary greatly. A few complained their data speed was throttled after they hit 300GB, people like me however did not experience throttled speed. wKkay also mentioned recently it was all good for him even after hitting 300GB.
Based on actual Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre subscribers feedbacks, it is likely that whether or not they are going to throttle your data speed is at their absolute discretion and is managed on case by case basis. However your location probably plays a role too, for the relevant Maxis team to decide whether or not they are going to throttle your mobile data speed. FUP of 50GB for the RM35 sounds fair, but may be the FUP for the RM45 pass should be slightly higher too. But otherwise, Maxis sure has done some homework and this plan is meant to be used only with your mobile phone. Even if you really play games a lot, or watch plenty of videos, the average data a person can use is probably around 50GB, hence the FUP is set to 50GB. Anything beyond that Maxis consider you to be abusing the unlimited plan.

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Jun 7 2020, 10:43 AM) FUP Limit for Calls = 90 minutes per call; no cap per month I’m not sure about Hotlink, but for Maxis Postpaid, a phone call will only be automatically cut off after 120 minutes. Whilst it has always been 90 minutes for Digi. Hence when I need to call a customer care line, usually airlines that have long waiting time, I always call from a Maxis line.Source : Careline123 TS, please update page 1 of FUP Limit table for HUP5, HUP12 and HUP35/45... QUOTE(anakMY @ Jun 7 2020, 11:44 AM) But it is indeed a true unlimited plan. With throttled speed at 0.5Mbps, you can still do general browsing, just that it’s going to be slow. Go to US, US telco too offer similar unlimited mobile data plan with similar wording in English. |

QUOTE(MNF0 @ Jun 7 2020, 12:01 PM) Do you have the prefix 03 number for the careline? I want to avoid the prefix 1300 number as it is chargeable. I assume you want MAS one. It is 03-7843 3000.QUOTE(SleeplessEyes @ Jun 7 2020, 12:01 PM) Hotlink subscribers may still lose the case because at a capped speed of 0.5Mbps, Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid does offer unlimited mobile data. The only problem they can run into with the US lawmakers is probably the missing of FUP number on their T&C or FAQ.QUOTE(ohtheirony @ Jun 7 2020, 12:10 PM) Well then Are you sure USA has expensive telco plan ? Without taking exchange rate into the picture and just comparing the average income of Americans and Malaysians, their postpaid plan is cheaper than ours. It’s about the same as Singapore actually.Any other telcos offering 20gb data with speed of 64kbps can qualify as unlimited monthly internet already and being transparent as well If you advertise as 3mbps as unlimited and eventually dropping speed as it reaches certain threshold it is not an honest action Plus using USA as example isn't making it any better since USA usually has expensive and misleading Telco plan Use other first world country such as those in Europe. Even Singapore tak boleh pakai since they follow USA model Other first world countries... ok. UK may be since it’s also an English speaking country ? |

QUOTE(ohtheirony @ Jun 7 2020, 12:56 PM) Cant find the latest table of comparison, anyway this article tabulates the data for you The price doesn’t reflect all of the US telco latest pricing for their respective postpaid plans. And currently, US telco also like to aim for family plan. Like what you see with Maxis Share Lines or Digi Family Lines etc. So the average cost per line goes down a lot. But even using the pricing plan from the 2018, their average cost is still lower than what the average Malaysians have to fork out vis-à-vis their income for a similar postpaid plan.https://www.cnet.com/how-to/verizon-att-t-m...lan-comparison/ Also, their unlimited is not as unlimited as it seems. Oh well, at least the FUP is clearly stated |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 7 2020, 11:56 PM) I dun even mind to sign this plan for my parent to use despite that they not may really use that much becos the price is really low enough and no need to worry any extra charges. You are absolutely right. Besides students, these passes, RM35 and RM45 alongside Digi LiVE Prepaid biBonus RM28 are really suitable for retirees too who seek mobile connection at minimum cost. |

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Jun 8 2020, 09:39 PM) https://www.malaysianwireless.com/2020/06/m...internet-plans/ May be if Hotlink revise the FUP for the RM45 pass to 75GB or 100GB can calm down some people. After all, 75GB or 100GB for a plan meant solely for mobile use only really is a lot already.another one picked up the 'unlimited' news. we may see some change in the coming days. QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Jun 9 2020, 01:20 PM) But 64kBps is as good as having no mobile data connection at all, whilst 0.5Mbps, mobile data will still be running and you should have no problem for general browsing still. Even steaming lower quality resolution video on YouTube may works still. |

QUOTE(jsnhoh @ Jun 10 2020, 01:43 AM) Actually I quite like the orange and yellow telcos, without them maybe we still spending 15cent for 1 sms and rm15 for 1 gb of data. Thank to these 2 telcos, our communication fee had gone down that much. Actually it was Maxis, under the helm of an ex-Digi CEO that introduced unlimited calls and SMS plan that started at RM98 for unlimited Maxis-Maxis calls and RM128 for all networks. No other telco dared to come up with a similar unlimited calls plan until almost one year later. Since then the fee keeps coming down and making calls in Malaysia has become so affordable since.Anyway, Digi actually fares better than Maxis in certain areas such as East Malaysia. Digi is king in both Sabah and Sarawak, just a bit lagging behind Maxis and Celcom in big cities or towns in Peninsular Malaysia. But otherwise, Maxis/Hotlink network superiority, stability and consistency is pretty much uncontested in KV. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jun 10 2020, 02:20 AM |
