hi all,
just found out about this. can someone help confirm if the 50GB limit for monthly unlimited is correct? and then throttled to 512KBPS?
I need broadband to be made into hotspot for possibly 6 devices for 3 weeks.
I saw that Hotlink has a plan for RM45 for 6MPBS unlimited internet. Then add RM5 for unlimited hotspot. And there are add-on for uncapped speed, such as the RM1 for 1hr. Thinking that this might work for what I need for 3 weeks.
But if there is a 50GB cap even for the RM45 monthly with RM5 hotspot, then this would be a big limitation for what i need.

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Oct 8 2020, 06:06 PM) Errr... to me PRE-paid is more hassle to manage... Need to monitor the validity CONSTANTLY before reload/topup... POST-paid is more str8 forward... I think the hassle is you not prepaid. Prepaid is simple how much you reload determine how long your validity

Err.. why introduce "validity" in the 1st place? I don't understand the concept of "validity" and to me it's more of a trap than convenience. Hence, we see lots of prepaid subscribers have "redundant" credits/balance in their account just for the sake to fulfill "validity" eligibility... it's a trap from me's perspective...
Me's GX38 is always below 50 sen... no extra redundant balance/credits despite of receiving lots of SMS asking to topup-reload-topup-reload-topup-reload-topup-reload...it's a trap obviously...
Postpaid is str8 forward. Fixed monthly commitment (unless extra charges beyond plan quota). No need to worry about "validity" ...

Good if postpaid work for you, last time I used to reload rm 30 per month and only use about rm 10, balance transfer to other number since got several device to maintain (wife, 2 kids, a tablet and mifi). Now it is the thing of the past since got long validity plan like unifi mobile. Regardless I will stick to prepaid due to flexibility. Got new plan to try, just threw away the card and get new one. I even sell back those unused credit. My main will always be Hotlink due to coverage and 1 year validity second sim slot unifi of course. This post has been edited by reymura99: Oct 13 2020, 01:38 AM

Prefer prepaid if anything went wrong, the account will just de-activate and no string attach at all. Been using postpaid, and end up lot of issue with the telco that blacklist me and said I canceled the plan within contract, but in fact it's zero commitment and I didn't use it for any call, they deactivated me and claimed I cancel... WTF... then asked me to pay RM1200 for early termination.... drag for 4-5 years... call up, keep route me to different person and never ending. Went to Maxis center, tai-chi said this and that... FXXX!

I had Unifi Mobile for my kid, top up RM 100 to purchase data / call minutes, and been > 1 years and kid still using it happily. I like the validity concept, but this make them can't earn as much $ per Maxxx. Just my office the Unifi Mobile coverage no 4G, and need to go with Maxxx.

Postpaid is str8 forward. Fixed monthly commitment (unless extra charges beyond plan quota). No need to worry about "validity" ... Prepaid is for not monthly commitment. Like these days some people have few numbers or light usage . They dont want pay rm30 monthly while their usage is not even 20% of their monthly commitment. Like my mom a year @ postpaid she spend like rm360 excluding tax. Now i help her switch to unifi mobile. She spend like rm100 a year. If u using postpaid your redundant usage is the same they charge you monthly for selected usage if you don't use finish you still need to pay and you cant stop the reoccurring fee. So wastage is alot higher on postpaid while prepaid you can buy validity or redeem validity or buy selected addon or just dont use for few months.

People sell their validity by credit transfer like my hotlink 365 validity. I dont need validity but I need credit so I would prefer buy credit at cheaper price.
