Hi para guru, Want to check how the Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid top up vs active period work. The FAQ not really explain well. Eg: if I top up RM30 vs RM100, valid for how many days? If I top up RM 30 at Aug 1, and I buy the RM 35 unlimited for 30 days aat Aug 29, would my 30 days unlimited internet valid till Aug 29 + 30 days or it will stop at Aug 30 and I need to top up to continue to use my RM 35 unlimited plan?
Hope guru can help on this. Thank you.

QUOTE(GreenSamurai @ Sep 14 2020, 10:55 AM) Stop at August 30 and you need to top up to continue using your data. You can’t game Maxis. thank for the info. Agree, Maxis is always got a trick to earn more. They don't really publish all those details that make me feel annoy. QUOTE(ckimsem @ Sep 14 2020, 11:46 AM) Top up RM30 gives 30 days validity, and RM100 for 100 days validity. Buying add-ons will never extend the validity, and all outgoing usage will be barred without validity. Okay. So if I top-up RM 30 at Aug 1, and I have validity till Aug 30. If at Aug 15, I top-up another RM30, mean I will just get validity till Sep 14, and not Sep 29, am I got it right?

QUOTE(alantanblog @ Oct 8 2020, 11:26 AM) yes...get validity till Sep 14, Arghh... Maxis really good at customizing their plan to make more money, silently. Previously thought prepaid will be easier to manage, the way Maxis prepaid validity work kind of like make us need spend more + troublesome. Now the prepaid unlimited for 3mbps at RM35/month, not sure they will really revert to RM38 end of year.... Now still with RM40 hotlink postpaid, after added GST will be RM42.40. It's kind of okay on paying the bill and etc... just feel prepaid will be less hassle that why considering it.

QUOTE(ckimsem @ Oct 8 2020, 06:59 PM) Maybe, ikengkai still going Maxis outlets or pos office to pay his bills since he said "it's kind of okay on paying the bill". QUOTE(azhar75 @ Oct 8 2020, 06:06 PM) Errr... to me PRE-paid is more hassle to manage... Need to monitor the validity CONSTANTLY before reload/topup... POST-paid is more str8 forward... Prefer prepaid if anything went wrong, the account will just de-activate and no string attach at all. Been using postpaid, and end up lot of issue with the telco that blacklist me and said I canceled the plan within contract, but in fact it's zero commitment and I didn't use it for any call, they deactivated me and claimed I cancel... WTF... then asked me to pay RM1200 for early termination.... drag for 4-5 years... call up, keep route me to different person and never ending. Went to Maxis center, tai-chi said this and that... FXXX!

QUOTE(reymura99 @ Oct 13 2020, 01:37 AM) Good if postpaid work for you, last time I used to reload rm 30 per month and only use about rm 10, balance transfer to other number since got several device to maintain (wife, 2 kids, a tablet and mifi). Now it is the thing of the past since got long validity plan like unifi mobile. Regardless I will stick to prepaid due to flexibility. Got new plan to try, just threw away the card and get new one. I even sell back those unused credit. My main will always be Hotlink due to coverage and 1 year validity second sim slot unifi of course. Agreed with you, prepaid for flexibility! I had Unifi Mobile for my kid, top up RM 100 to purchase data / call minutes, and been > 1 years and kid still using it happily. I like the validity concept, but this make them can't earn as much $ per Maxxx. Just my office the Unifi Mobile coverage no 4G, and need to go with Maxxx.
