Is now a bad time to proceed with any house reno work if I haven't started anything?
I've been getting news about understaffed design firms (not enough designers and project managers), insufficient labour at contractor side as they rely alot on foreign workers and last but not least the ever increasing material cost. In addition to that, most firms are still catching up on their mco backlogs I believe?

Ideally that should be the case but I not sure what happened for my frds case.... anyway its bad project management on the ID part

The price will always increase and wont reduce anyhow like everything else. You dont start now you risk paying more down the road

For some reason, 4 out of the 5 ID I've contacted so far via WhatsApp hasn't got back to me with any reply. Literally no response at all as if they are no longer in business. No news from Qanvast matched IDs as well.
The only one that got back to me was honest enough to admit that they're currently quite busy and will not be able to do anything until November. Feels like they're overwhelmed with work and has no time to take on more projects.

Cant decide within modern contemporary design & scandinavian design. Scandi looks more comfort n brighter but modern contemporary looks classy but dark. Izit possible to combine both together? LOL!

Er.... let say u found a style or project u like, u can click into that ID's profile or web and start looking for their project n see if it's only a style/project that look nice or every project looks good or mayb the ID onli do 1 style but focus and pro at it.... n yes, it is time consuming....

if you like more than 1 style, then mayb u can decide which is more suitable for main and most of the area, say common area 1 style, then each room wif diff style? but if not handle properly, it will be a disaster... haha... juz a suggestion....

This wil depends on what type of ID u engage: design only (cheaper), drawings only (cheapest)..... these 2 types shud arrange meeting or meetings between ID n contractor (else ding dong bell).... design n build (expensive), this type no nid cuz normally ID's own contractor will know how to execute ID's design.

Yes... cuz now mco over (for now) many r starting to renovate house (juz in case mco again n u still hav a home sweet home to hide)... n yes.... u hav to wait unless u keep looking.... n like ZeneticX said, it will only get more expensive....

Er... i'm not a designer but u can ask ID.... (my 2 cents is.... not in the same area.... as they r both different colour tone design.... if u put side by side they will b like crashing each other... in chinese 撞到棒棒声， but i could be wrong... mayb some really pro ID can do it... impress me!!! )

Unfortunately the only room I cant decide is livingroom. Hahaha!

According to the company I am dealing with, most of the industry on reno works are still clearing up their backlogs since... I don't know when. Also, price has been increasing so one will have to pick and choose the "need" and "want" when doing the reno works.

n yes... conflict is common.... diff opinion, diff way of doing....

ID & Contractor u find, u r the project manager. u nid to b the bridge to communicate n settle between both of them.... make sure they r on the same page.... their requirement r same level.... nid to check often...

A-Z ID, u pay money for the convenience n u onli nid to talk to ur ID, ur ID is the project manager but ID's contractor 1 price, ID add a layer more lo.... tat layer depends.... but u save the headache to check here check there, adjust everything for ur contractor.... since contractor n other supplier of ur ID shud hav been working tgt for long enuff, the chemistry shud get ur reno done smoother.... aka they know wat the ID want n how to produce wat ID want....

anyway, since u still in the survey stage, u can always confirm wif the ID u engage, whether they give u the option to go wif them or not.... n of coz... if u juz use their design, n nth else, u nid to pay for the design idea....

Hi sifus, can I ask, normally 22 * 75 double story house, painting for whole house (indoor wall + outdoor walls), normally labour cost how much? Subang Jaya area. Paint I buy my own...

Still got other choice, ID+his own contractor (business partner or something), or contractor only. Nowdays contractor itself can roughly draw as well.

Not quite sure but these are the sample. I prefer bright design which feels more comfort (i guess) like scandi or japandi but in love with these kind.
