Eh I thought your Oblivion was a gone case? I remember you wanting to buy another one.

On a side note, I'm thankful that I got 3ROD few months back.
Got a better drive with the replacement console.  rclxms.gif
It's a samsung.

Thought it is gone case... after my GoW went kaput I tried the toothpaste method and managed to revive it, I thought might as well give my Oblivion another try... TADA... it works again!! thumbup.gif Thanks to the mighty Darlie toothpaste (the classic flavor one ah, not the jelly one). rclxms.gif laugh.gif

Before my GoW was sent to its oblivion, my DVD rom made a weird noise and BAM the dirty disc error message came out. I think the same thing also happened to my Oblivion, before it succumbed to the error, my DVD rom drive also made the same noise. vmad.gif

is the braking sound (the spin head motor) it doens't cost any scratches on.. but it make a very annoying and worried sound (Cause it sound like from 150kmh then just step on the brake... real hard! )
*
yeah the sound is pretty disturbing.
I wonder how many people here have or had that problem?

I have that problem as well...but only selected discs. I find it that games with a lot of data streaming are the ones that cause this (to me).

For example, my GH2, DJ Icon makes the loudest noise when I exit to dashboard. Some others like Homecourt has no braking sound.

oh and about moving the console from horizontal to vertical while the game is playing is the number one thing NOT to do right off the bat. They even had the sticker on the dvd drive giving a warning about that.

Another dead topic came alive.

Yes. It's just for verification. Once the game start, the disc stop spinning.

No necessary, but a habit of taking out the Disc can save you a lot of "Disc missing" incident whistling.gif
