Yes... my f**king console just destroyed my GoW and Oblivion... I dont know what's the reason that this always happen to these 2 games. However, I managed to use toothpaste to revive both of them and my oblivion has been running good as new while GoW still shows the dirty disc error once in a while.

I suspect that games with a lot data streaming will be affected the most because the lens is constantly reading the disc. GoW is streaming textures while Oblivion is streaming data for the world.

My other discs are mighty fine with no or little scratches only.

Eh I thought your Oblivion was a gone case? I remember you wanting to buy another one.

On a side note, I'm thankful that I got 3ROD few months back.
Got a better drive with the replacement console.  rclxms.gif

Thought it is gone case... after my GoW went kaput I tried the toothpaste method and managed to revive it, I thought might as well give my Oblivion another try... TADA... it works again!! thumbup.gif Thanks to the mighty Darlie toothpaste (the classic flavor one ah, not the jelly one). rclxms.gif laugh.gif

Before my GoW was sent to its oblivion, my DVD rom made a weird noise and BAM the dirty disc error message came out. I think the same thing also happened to my Oblivion, before it succumbed to the error, my DVD rom drive also made the same noise. vmad.gif
