mclaren is in danger again, hehehe
http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/new...731170134.shtml Mosley agrees to re-open McLaren spy case FIA Court of Appeal to hear team arguments QUOTE FIA President Max Mosley on Tuesday agreed to send the espionage case against McLaren to the governing body's Court of Appeal. Following the written request of Ferrari's national sanctioning organisation, the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI), Mosley said it was right to further investigate the case because Ferrari had not been allowed to present evidence in last Thursday's hearing of the World Motor Sport Council. McLaren in Paris was found to be in breach of clause 151c of the International Sporting Code but was not penalised, which in ACI president Luigi Macaluso's view is 'quite difficult to justify'. He claimed that 'several top team representatives' of McLaren knew about chief designer Mike Coughlan's espionage activities over several months, but that Ferrari had been unable to counter McLaren's defence that no employee besides Coughlan knew about the 780-pages of secret information. In a written reply to Macaluso, who after the Paris hearing had also verbally questioned the FIA's decision, Mosley said probing the matter further was also important for 'public confidence in the outcome'. He wrote: "I will send this matter to the FIA Court of Appeal ... with a request that the Court hear both Ferrari and McLaren and any other Championship competitor who so requests and determine whether the decision of the WMSC was appropriate and, if not substitute such other decision as may be just." QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Jul 31 2007, 11:56 PM) got another edison? lolz http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/new...731230121.shtml Ferrari press on with legal action Statement with regards to the spy scandal QUOTE Today, in Maranello, the Ferrari S.p.A. Board of Directors met to deliberate about the legal actions taken in the last weeks by the Gestione Sportiva. The Board has ratified what happened until now, which is the action taken against Nigel Stepney over the fact of the powder found around the refuelling aperture on the F1 cars during the Monaco Grand Prix tests. The submission of another legal action against Stepney concerning the theft of technical information, the civil action presented to The High Court of London against Mike Coughlan, chief designer of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, and his wife, concerning the theft of the aforementioned documents. The Board took note of the FIA World Council's decision of 26th of July and of today's decision from the FIA President, Max Mosley, to refer this matter to a hearing of the FIA Court of Appeal, where Ferrari, as the injured party of the incident, will be accorded all the rights to which they are entitled in a trial, which was not the case at the World Council meeting. The Board gives its full authority to the Board of Directors' President, to the CEO, and to the Managing Director to initiate and continue any necessary legal action, in the name of the Company, in addiction to those legal actions already underway in every legal, civil, criminal, administrative, sporting jurisdiction be it, in Italy or abroad. Source Ferrari CAPSIS International http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/new...731205619.shtml McLaren react to Mosley appeal Team fighting on in the espionage scandal QUOTE McLaren were naturally unhappy with today's announcement from FIA President Max Moseley that he would be appealing FIA's decision to exonerate McLaren who were accused of spying on Ferrari. The following statement is from McLaren... i now just want to see which team can absorb the pressure better, see who will crack first & which team really indeed deserve this year championship"Following a thoroughly misleading press campaign by Ferrari and pressure from the Automobile Club D' Italia, the FIA has asked the FIA International Court of Appeal to consider the unanimous decision made by the World Motor Sport Council on 26th July 2007. "Having considered in great detail the full submissions of both Ferrari and McLaren, the World Motorsport Council determined that there was no evidence that any information, passed by a Ferrari team member to a McLaren employee, had been brought into the organisation or provided any benefit whatsoever to the McLaren programme. "McLaren is not aware of any new information or arguments that have arisen since the meeting of the World Motor Sport Council and therefore assumes that these same materials will now be considered by the FIA International Court of Appeal. Whilst this is both disappointing and time-consuming, McLaren is confident that the FIA International Court of Appeal will also exonerate McLaren and we will in the meanwhile continue to focus on our current World Championship programme." All things Stepney-Coughlan, i suggest we discuss it in the Poll-ed thread.
No point putting everything up in the "F1 Championship" thread. Anybody got the news on Scott Speed being physically harassed by Franz, team boss, Franz Tost. For me, i am not sure why Franz is just so angry at Speed for ending at Turn 1 in the last race. Button fell for it, so does Hamilton, Rosberg, .... Its really sad to see that Speed aint driving anymore for the STR for such a pathetic reason. |

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Aug 1 2007, 06:57 AM) Got confused with you guys named 'ed'. Revised...got two(2) edison...both were nice Unlike people with '0' mentality and garbage postings I think it's normal in a legal system...verdict...appeal...lawsuit etc. FIA afraid of losing their credibility...that's why reopen the case. I think Ferrari has the upper hand. Both in this case and in a GP. Currently has the fastest car. I wonder what kind of punishmen Ferrari wants |

ok back to F1, QUOTE(Salo backtracks on Ferrari 'spy' comments) Mika Salo clarifies the comments made that suggested Ferrari spied on McLaren in the late-nineties. Mika Salo has moved to play down the comments he made following the conclusion of the spy saga that suggested former employers Ferrari routinely spied on arch-rivals McLaren in the past. Salo was quoted as suggesting in Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat that the Italian team regularly listened and noted down the radio traffic from McLaren, but the former test driver for Ferrari insists it was not necessarily deliberate. Salo, having initially tested for the team, competed in six races for Ferrari in 1999 in place of an injured Michael Schumacher and claims the low-tech radio devices made listening in almost inevitable. Nonetheless, he wanted to clarify his suggestions. "What has been published in Ilta-Sanomat does not match the thoughts I wanted to express," the Finn told Reuters. "I would therefore like to make it clear that I was only referring to Formula One in the late nineties, when radio technology was still at an almost amateurish level, which meant it could happen that some radio conversations could be listened to randomly because of interference." Salo's comments came following the decision by the FIA not to punish McLaren, despite agreeing that they had come into contact with highly confidential documents from rivals Ferrari earlier this year. He had said: "We always spied on McLaren, listening to their radio traffic. After every practice session I had in front of me, on paper, all the discussions Mika Hakkinen had had with his engineer."
