For me this is the important part of the article :

"But if it is found in the future that the Ferrari information has been used to the detriment of the championship, we reserve the right to invite Vodafone McLaren Mercedes back in front of the WMSC where it will face the possibility of exclusion from not only the 2007 championship but also the 2008 championship."

QUOTE(faris21 @ Jul 28 2007, 12:47 AM)
what do u mean by look at the competitors back then
*
the modern F1 is so competitive. Look at modern F1 qualification time : even Minardi (was considered the weakest team in F1 then) was never more than 3-4 seconds off pole sitter.

F1 in the '50 is more an attrition race, meaning that cars reliability was not good then. It was common practice back then, if drivers can change cars in the middle of the race is his original car broke down.

But Fangio is still one of the great F1 drivers.

sometime qualify one by one is not fair,i mean by when first driver come out to flying lap,he use dry tyre, after he finish his hot lap, rain begin to fall, this mean 2nd-22th driver need make hot lap on wet track, this happen at Australian`05 which Fisi,Webber,Trulli and Jacques have an advantage
*
I prefer the old format.. 12 laps in 1 hour... smile.gif

I think the current format is amazing. The old format was shite. All the action in last few minutes doh.gif
*
So does the current format. All action in last few minutes in Q3.... fuel burning phase? what a waste....

Well as i said i find the situation different because there Ferrari made that order while in this case McLaren did not do this on purpose. It's just gamesmanship from Alonso. It's not fair i agree. He was just pissed off at Hamilton botching his qualy strategy.
Agree with u here. The old format was retarded. But i still prefer the free for all format. This fuel burning thing does not sit well with me.
*
retarded in what sense?

@Evo, but in Q1 and Q2, there's action as well. There's competition at every end. If we were to follow the last format, not many will tune into the first 40 minutes as who would care for a Minardi? tongue.gif But now, I tune in with glee.
*
LOL ... because the track get grippier and cleaner at the end of the session. Luckily the Q3 is 15 minutes now..

QUOTE(Hornet @ Aug 6 2007, 10:41 AM)
That's pretty much expected.
That's the way F1 business gets about. You cannot be a Mr. Nice Guy in F1. And there's no such thing a a dream team of two heroes, cause F1 heroes don't share their territory.

Lewis will stay. i expect Alonso to be the one looking elsewhere, maybe a BMW, or back to Renault. Ferrari is his next best option after McLaren performance wise, but Kimi and Massa is there, I doubt he'll get along with them. Alonso is the kind of guy that needs a team being build around him, and he cannot have a team mate that's faster than him. Lewis on the other hand, feels that he's a top driver now and should be given priority too (thus as Alonso claimed, he disobeyed team orders to allow Alonso start Q3 ahead of him.)

Ron's squeeze between these two drives who wants the same thing, that is to be no.1 driver in the team. He can't pull any magic to solve this one.
*
I agree. but Ron is not a newbie in this matter...

Lauda - Prost
Prost - Senna
Hakkinen - Coulthard
Alonso - Hamilton

QUOTE(karhoe @ Aug 7 2007, 01:16 PM)
Because everyone has different story to tell

Alonso - I  radioed engineer to check if the tires were the correct ones ( he doesn't know how to see the white stripes )

*
well, your are partly correct on that. You see, every weekend teams are given let say 8 set of tyres(i forgot how many tyres they are allowed on race weekend) to use for the whole race weekend; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 8 set consist of hard and softer compund (white) tyres. So how do the team know if the tyres is brand new or have been used before of the same compound?

the answer is, if you noticed, theres a numbering on the side wall of tyre like B8 written in green, which, the driver cant see.
