Nope, on the contrary it's been nothing but great luck since he passed.. our lives just falls into place now, like it is guided by someone higher up..

Reminds me of a story someone close to me told me a few years ago.

Someone they knew personally suffered a very major accident. It was the type of accident where the car was completely totaled, and the driver should, by all accounts, be dead on the spot. When he escapes with only "minor injuries", it is called "a miracle".

Family of the driver were shocked and thankful. They took him to the temple for prayers and to see a medium to find out whether "anything happened". The first thing the medium said, upon seeing the driver, and without the driver or family even saying a word to her, was "You are very very lucky, young man. Your grandparents love you very very much."

Fellow's grandparents had been gone for a while already.

At the end of the consultation, medium told the fellow to "Pray to your grandparents every now and then, offer them some fruits, cookies, etc."

On a personal level, I value ancestral worship very much. Who else can you rely on to "spiritually protect" you if not on family?

In return, I never forget to talk to them every now and then, give them my regards, and give them offering of fruits or snacks or cookies. Doesn't even have to be on a special day (birthday or death anniversary) - you do not need a special excuse to "call up" a loved one, right?

My life has been pretty blessed so far. I like to attribute part of it to divine and spiritual protection / guidance, especially from "family".

And not every ghost story has to be a scary one... LOL!

Have you ever summon the duke?

*
Nope. My family has been quite blessed in life; not rich, but everyone generally safe, healthy, progressing, no major issues, thrifty with finances, etc.

My old man is spiritually sensitive himself and able to deal with minor spiritual issues as they come up, so we never had any need to consult with a medium directly. My old man did see some old school bomohs in trance before... they spoke old Malay.

No lar, I mean, even though my parents weren't rich, but they did not see the need to get "divine intervention" or anything like that, LOL!

Paimon is deadly serious summoning (no pun). Demon king level demon (if the legends are to be believed). I would ask him if Baal, Belial, Asmodeus, Andralach or Amon really exist, LOL biggrin.gif (though he might slap my ass for wasting his time.... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif )

Which one you are successfully met? I haven’t try any yet, because I have no necessity to do so. However, I’m so curious, want to know first hand experience šŸ‘»šŸ‘»šŸ‘»
*
Have not met any, and no way am I going to tempt fate and meet with any being labeled demon lord, demon king, or demon nobility and no prior history of being a benign deity. Even if there is no immediate price to pay for meeting them, there is a karmic price to be met later on. Chinese Hell deities (the Justice Bao type) may not look too fondly on such actions sweat.gif tongue.gif

In my ancestral home, the family deity was frequently used as as a "channeling source" for mediums. My elders said many mediums were able to communicate or channel the family deity in that ancestral home effectively (saw with their own eyes). However, could not get further details on language or offerings or how the ritual was done. A lot of the channeling was done pre World-War II.

1) Practitioners of evil black magic like this are going to be punished in hell for a long long time, whatever the religion or presiding deity.

And the worst of the lot, people who craft very elaborate, complex, multi-layered and time-consuming black magic spells or spiritual attacks, these type going to be throw into some of the deeper hells. Am assuming it would be one of the double digit levels among the 18.

The things humans can do in their lust and greed for wealth and power.....

2) And what an elaborate attack this was against your client. It was so complex and multi-layered that the plans laid for must have taken years. This is not something that can be concocted in a week or even a month.

3) A lot of the stuff you mentioned here reminded me of Mona Fandey. Heck, if the spirit of the stepmother was living on in the snake, it was no wonder Mona Fandey's last words before she dropped were "Aku takkan mati."

4) Your shamans were very experienced, very powerful and highly protected. Not easy to dismantle such an evil attack. Lesser bomohs would be brought down if they were inexperienced or made a mistake.

5) For many of you, welcome to an insight look into the lives of the very rich and powerful in South East Asia. Think these guys are sleeping properly with all their billions and their bodyguards and big houses and flashy material stuff? Think again. Who knows how much of their success was "paid for" with the sale of their souls. Who knows how often they have to look over their shoulders for signs of what their enemies would do to them.

Heck... do you think they can trust anyone? Even family?

6) Try not to make enemies in life. You never know when you may have pissed off the wrong person and the lengths he / she / they would go through to get back at you.

7) Finally, just remember that God makes use of everything. For that Muslim family, what ended up destroying the spells being used against him and his family? Pig lard. What did the shamans ask him and his family to do constantly? Pray, before they (the shamans) went about their task. Every work of anti-black magic that I have heard of, the bomoh, medium or the shaman, whatever background he or she came from, will always ask the victim / client, whatever their background or religion, to pray first. And there is no need for the shaman or the client to be of the same religion; what is important is that the shaman is able to rescue or protect the client. Even ladytarot's aunty was rescued by senior Muslim bomohs. The "datuk gongs" my old man's bomoh works with are devout Muslims; non-Muslims can request them for help, but before presenting themselves, must have gone through a day of halal observance first.

8) Finally finally.... your second line of spiritual defence is family... your ancestral family, and the God or deities you worship; the more genuinely devout and pious you are, the better their ability to defend and protect you. Always remember to pray to your ancestors every now and then.... just say hi to them, no need for special occasion (like All Souls Day or Qing Ming or such). They will appreciate it and look out for you.

Your first line of defence? A humble life with a strong mental make-up. I have always been told that even for black magic or possession to work, the victim must first be mentally weak or vulnerable. Ghosts, demons and black magic have almost no efficacy on those who have very strong mental strength, inner conviction and absolute belief in themselves - their inner light outshines all the darkness of these beings and acts. A ghost is more frighten of a human being if the human being cannot be frightened by or cowed by the ghost.

Just my humble, maybe nonsensical two yen.....

P.S. Anyone have any stories to share about white magic? It is real.....

Occult is actually part of our life/existence.. some prefer to completely ignore, some practice and some observe.. šŸ™‚ Theres something called the karmic connection. You reap what you sow, As long as you don’t hurt or exploit others.. you’ll be okay.
*
My old man dabbles in the occult. But the circles he mixed in (long time ago) and the craft he worked on (in the past) was WHITE magic. Not black.

White magic - to protect, to cleanse, to support. To wish a smooth life, or to protect from the unforeseen. To smooth over emotional turbulence, to steady a volatile mind. To bless a loved one, a friend, a new home.

He is spiritually sensitive and can "sense" when our ancestors return to our offering table during Qing Ming or certain special ancestral worship events. He feels the vibrations and they are "good vibes".

Not every goosebump comes from a hostile being. Not every ghost story is of one that is out to scare, terrorize, haunt or cause mischief.

And not every piece of spiritual magic out there is meant to cause harm, damage, destruction.... or death smile.gif

P.S. Nice counter-attack on the red ghost when you visited your great-grandparents. As I said in my post above... most of the time, it is ghosts and spirits that fear humans, not the other way round, LOL!

Being a regular climber/trekker at that area, Im sure you know that trail very well. Being a regular hiker myself, Im sure you know the "unwritten rules" of jungles and forests. But still experienced hikers could get lost on the same trails we go through almost every weekend like you did.

One thing I have learned over these years is that to have upmost respect to the Jungle and its "inhabitants". Many who have the "third eye" ability can tell you the forest are filled with these "inhabitants" and it is best to avoid going in near dusk and at night. I have personally participated in search missions in some forest near me for lost trekkers at night and I can tell you its a totally different ball game when the forest is as dark until "you can't even see your own hands without the torch". My advice to all trekkers, hikera, hashers, runners, do not go in the forest/jungle during dusk and night, no matter how familiar you are with the trails. You dont want want visitors into your home at night, so does the jungle.
*
Tempat orang buniman. Have to be polite to them if the forest or jungle MUST be visited at night.

QUOTE(calodin @ Apr 18 2020, 01:22 PM)

Some of you may ask, if we believe in reincarnation (Buddhist beliefs), shouldn't our ancestors already been reincarnated, well, the system works this way. Every living being has 3 souls and 7 spirit (äø‰é‚äøƒé„) and when we pass normally (not in a sudden or violent way), from the 3 souls, 1 will go for reincarnation, 1 will jaga at the gravestone and 1 will stay with the family to protect the family. I've also read in this thread that some people after meeting with some supernatural occurrence and they suddenly fall sick for a week, that is the 7 spirit got damaged.

*
Ah... finally an explanation that reconciles some differing beliefs that my family and I have.

My old man believes that the spirit of the deceased never leaves the grave... it is their "home". I personally believe in reincarnation, though I kinda subscribe to Nachtsider's view that reincarnation does not happen instantly and it could be years to decades before a deceased soul moves on to reincarnate. And then of course you have certain souls and spirits tagging along whenever or wherever a family member or loved one goes.

The 3 souls concept would reconcile a lot of our understanding of the after-life then.

Question: how about cremating? Does it have any effect on the soul that guards the resting place - would a soul "hang out" at the columbarium where his or her ashes are interred?

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Scatering the ashes in the wind or to the sea will have problem, the soul is scattered and will be very weak.

*
Four questions:

1) If the ashes of a loved one are split between two places (temple and family altar), what happens to the soul of the deceased? Is it weakened as well?

2) For a family with multiple ancestral tablets (all over the country or world), how do "ancestors" allocate themselves to which ancestral tablet location for their jaga place?

3) Can a picture of a deceased loved one suffice as an "ancestral tablet" equivalent if he or she is put up in an honoured place? Or does it have to be "activated" first?

4) If people like you (with third eyes and ability to interact with wondering spirits) help rescue wondering spirits and assist them in moving on, would you get good karma for this? How about rescuing them from their "predators" in the spiritual world?

Thanks for answers smile.gif

QUOTE(calodin @ Apr 19 2020, 12:41 AM)
Answer:

1) I've until now never seen where ashes are split into 2 places, either they are put in the columbarium or put in home. Splitting will weaken the soul.

2 & 3) If you put the picture of a single deceased loved ones at home (normally also with the ashes), that is called a "ēµä½" and not an Ancestral Tablet. Normally, will need to have Sifu make sure that the deceased know about the "ēµä½" and follow it back to the house. Normally you will not have multiple ancestral tablet, the practice is the eldest son house will have the ancestral tablet. But example, if a family, a grandfather pass away, they can start a ancestral tablet, and then as maybe thru time pass, family members pass away, the soul of the family members must be added to that. (just imagine those insurance agency lar, maybe one of the agents achieve don't know what Millon Dollar table, they come out setup another agency. ah. like that). Always remember, for those that in the house that do not have activated deity, only have ancestral tablet, if you move house, make sure get sifu to make sure the ancestral tablet is move properly. if the ancestor never moved to new location and you start to give offering, means any tom, dick and harry can go in and stay there.

4) We can't help everyone, just like someone ask you to help all the homeless people in Malaysia, you wont have the time, and it will be physically draining.,,and yes you will actually get very big good deed karma. Why we also don't really "Rescue" them is that there are a lot of things that I would not want to mess around with..scary things.
*
Thanks for the replies.

1) Fortunately or unfortunately, my extended family has.... "recently" started the practice of splitting a loved one's ashes - since we are split all over the world (and some have no issue / descendants), so part of the ashes will be placed in a temple that is close to where the majority of family members are located while another part will be placed in a colambarium. For those of us who cannot go to the columbarium to pay our respects (for e.g. it may be in another part of the country or world), we can just head to that temple.... was meant to be more convenient for us.

But welp, if the soul will really be weakened, I would have to advice them against doing this practice next time sad.gif

2) I asked about the ancestral tablet because I will be moving to a new home soon, and was wondering whether to activate a guardian deity and an ancestral tablet. I make it a point to be quite devout to my ancestors, so I would feel quite pleased if they could accompany me in my new home in some way (was actually thinking of having ancestral tablets from both my parents' side and wife's side in my home, but if you do not think it is a very good idea........). My parents and wife's parents are still alive and healthy, all grandparents are gone though. Each family has respective ancestral tablets in ancestral home or main family homes.

Can I trouble you for your thoughts? Is it OK to activate ancillary ancestral tablets for my own home while there are main ones in ancestral homes or do you advice against it? Or should I consult a sifu and get his or her opinion on this matter?

3) Understood about the scary things part. I was quite fascinated about the being that has a head of a horse on the body of a human... turns out such a being is quite ubiquitous in the world. A being like this is known as Tikbalang in the Philippines and as Nuckelavee in Scandinavia / Scotland.

And if such a being exists in the spiritual world, then the Wendigos of North America should also be a real thing...... that one is *bleeping* dangerous.

Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Saka very much exist, I've seen a few before, and for some reason, those that I've seen always follows the oldest Matriach in the family. I've also seen a Saka that follows a keris that is passed down to the patriarch of the family..it's in the form of a huge snake. Seen it when I visited my Indonesian colleague's house in Jakarta. We are very good friends because he is my partner in crime when we have Regional Conference in Melbourne. The keris is place at the top of his house front door. He invited me to his house as his grandmother is cooking a celebratory feast, so I just tumpang makan. In Malaysia, I actually see a lot of Malay ladies using Susuk, maybe because my eyes are special, i can see when a person is using Susuk, because can see their real face. After a person uses susuk, their real face becomes very....not normal, disturbing.

Saka = Pusaka = legacy whatever you name it..

Something that passed generation after generation as ā€œcompanion/guardianā€ of family. Circulated amongst monarch and powerful houses.

This entities usually same level with duke. But here it’s often mistakenly with some people ā€œpetā€ like hantu raya, pontianak, etc etc
*
Interesting sub-topic on the Saka, Calodin, ladytarot.

Just a couple of quick questions please:

1) Are Sakas good, evil or benign entities?

2) Are they "friendly"? As in the type of entity you can chat with and.... talk about your day, I suppose?

3) Are Sakas passed only from family to family or can new Sakas be created?

4) Have you ever heard of non-Malay families having Sakas in their possession?

5) Would Sakas clash with an activated deity?

@ladytarot99

Ladytarot, when you refer to "duke level" do you mean demon duke level?

Thanks for any answers in advance smile.gif

QUOTE(calodin @ Apr 21 2020, 12:02 AM)
Ok, I'll reply some of the questions based on the limited knowledge and experience I have with Saka.

1) Sakas came from a time when our ancestors were more intune with nature, and they found ways of doing things that science could not explain. Sakas can be many things, human spirit, animal spirit or even one of the "dan lain-lain", but one thing in common, the spirits are very ancient. That is why they have more power than the normal spirits (if not how to fight right). Saka border on white and black magic, some very strong spirits can protect the family but looks like an evil spirit to others. Just think of Dobermans, they are very good family guard-dogs, but to other people that is not the owner, they look feel like hounds of hell.

2) Not to sure, never chatted with one, so I cannot comment.

3) Saka basically is like the Summoning Jutsu in Naruto, you basically form a contract with the Saka, and the people that bela the Saka need to provide some stuff, or sacrifice or offerings, they need to provide lodging and etc. In return, the Saka protects the family.  After which they are passed down in the family from 1 generation to the other.

4) Hmmmm, to be honest, my sampling size maybe too small, but the few family that I've met with Saka, 2 in Malaysia are Malay, and the other is Indonesian. So can't really say.

5) I wear a few Barangs with me, and i manage to go into my Indonesian's friend's house no problem, but the big snake did check me out, also I did not go with ill intention. So can't really comment on this also...never met with this kind of situation where a house deity will meets a Saka.
*
Thanks. That's just so fascinating to read. I wonder if BillCollector's royalty friend could have cleared out that black-magic infested house on his own if he had a family Saka in his hands...

The snake part is also interesting because I have always been warned by "people in the know" not to disturb very large snakes whenever I am in the jungle, especially pythons or king cobras.

From the sounds of it, seems like Sakas are more of protector / defender spirits than attack spirits. If they were malignant, would have clashed with your holy items already.

Oh well, this is a lost legacy / practice as man and womankind gets more and more into the technology age....

Just a couple of quick questions please:

1) They’re very good if only they choose you. If you take it or steal it from it’s master, it would destroy your life. Before we are able to inherit them from family, we have to follow one ritual ā€œproposalā€. If it’s agree, you can have it. My great-grandfather’s skipped my grandpa and my mom. Follow me and my grandmother instead.

2) Mine, very friendly to my me and my family but not something to play or joke.

3) Passed down from family, or if it’s decides to follow you at its own will. Without royalty blood it’s unlikely.

4) Yes off course, pusaka not only well known in tanah melayu.. the roots came from ancient nusantara.

5) No issue at all, pusaka respect you as much as you respect them. And it does respect your belief.

@ladytarot99

Yes it is tongue.gif.. you want rain, shine, storm, hurricane ? brows.gif

Welcome
It won’t attack anyone unless your friend told him to do so smile.gif. He has nagasasra, your friend’s family is somebody.

Demon duke level is.... very powerful..... spirit of that level willing to be "owned" by a human being? That's quite interesting to think about....

The issue with him was the ones playing with the BM was essentially his father's 1st wife and her children. The family has several "Sakas" on hand because she isn't a commoner and have access to one from another royal household as well. The only way to clear was to remove everything and look for other sources for "protection" which he found from Thailand. These sakas usually won't undo any BMs done by someone "it" is protecting.

In any jungle you have to be careful with any monotone colored snakes other than those that are green or brown. Any other mono colored snake...... give it the wide berth and that also includes when you are driving on the road. The other one to be extremely careful off are crocodiles, large monitor lizards, ant eaters and tigers. If you are in North America and close to a Native American reservation then you have to add black bears to the list as well.
*
Ah, understood.

Did not know crocodiles and ant eaters were also part of the "DND If Possible" jungle category.... stupid question, but tapirs not included also, right?

North America, I would have thought it was the grizzlies that have to be given a wide berth, not the black bears. Wonder whether very old elks and moose(s) are to be given due respect as well.

I'd still refuse to go anywhere near places where legends of Wendigos abound..... most spirits do not attack you if you did not provoke them, but a Wendigo (if stories are true) will actively hunt a human.

Not just the animals, really ancient trees, especially those that has grown on very negative lands, because these trees can become "树妖" or "Tree Demon" (just a note, we use demon here due to the fact that there is no real way to differentiate "妖" and "魔" in the English language, a real "Demon" will make the "Tree Demon" look like a total noob)

Tree Demon gain power by ingesting spirits, be it human, animal, orang bunian, you name it. So normally all other spirits in the jungle will stay far far away from a Tree Demon. If you go into a jungle, suddenly go to a place where even the insects and birds don't make a noise and you see a very big old tree...my advice..GTFO of there pronto.
*
Oof, that's something new as well sad.gif

Can I presume that Tree Demons fall into the "Evil" order of beings since they are predators of spirits? Or are they just a Chaotic Neutral type entity?

LOL, Murica pun ada satu....
