With regards to the recent leak of my personal information in this forum.

I am bound by the legalities under personal data protection act 2010

to make a public statement in this forum to protect my rights over my personal information and to inform the public over the use of my leaked personal information.

I hereby informing the public, users, morderators, members, staffs, guests, user under probation, and all types of users within this forum, lowyat.net and all its sub sections, threads, topics and posts, that I have not given any consent to any publication of my personal data such as my name, picture, company info, ic number and propperty addresses to be published in this forum.

As such I would like to seek cooperation of all members, users, moderators, guests, to refrain from posting/publishing my personal information, such as my name, picture, address, company name, ic number in this forum and kindly erase existing information that were published previously without my consent as the sole owner of these personal information.

I hope the moderators would kindly assist in supporting this act, in preventing further misuse of any personal information that were published within this forum, all of its topics, threads, posts in spirit of complying with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

Well thing is, /k is not for politics and religion discussion in the first place. U want then go RWI and Serious /k.

Problem with people now is they forgot that there are RWI subforums. So they post heavy stuff in /k, then when people don't agree with their view, they retaliate like this.

I always imagine /k as a coffeshop. Just light chat, enjoying news with strangers. But when people treat /k as their politic field, then shit like this are bound to happen.

And people who dig personal data from old garage sales post or somewhere in this forum are not cool at all. These people should be permabanned as well. What's in /k, stay at /k sudah la.

Your so called self declare "bound by legalities" post doesnt work that way in the eye of the law.
It's just another empty post. Tin tin kosong saja. Things dont just settle down when simply put up a simple announcement and slot in some incoherent sentences associated with PDPA.

in fact, you're not the only dumb ass that thought ppl wont go read all 200+ of pages of over 4000 posts..

i have done that many times and in the process, got hold of many phone contact, some addresses, emails and to some extend their bank acc # and lots of pictures.

everything you post online, you do it willingly..whether someone else write down those info or not, it is UP to them - and yes, u have no say who can write it down and who cant and whether they want go dig further on other personal details AVAILABLE freely on the internet.

if dont want ppl to know you, DO NOT use tenet/social media - then you will be safe from being found out.




Added : asides from how others have shared in getting TS details from sales thread posing as interested buyer, i have known of forumers that would send PM to buyers that have bought from that 1 seller he is interested in with excuses like trying to get hold of seller because of some XXX issues..he sent to over 50 buyers (some ppl like to share their successful buyer list)..and 2 or 3 responded and provided seller's contact # and address to him.

This is jst one of the method - there are hundreds if not thousands.

so there - nothing is safe in internet unless you're an awesome hacker
