Just my own opinion, if there are nothing new can be updated, then there will be no updates for the phone.

No need to sent the updates monthly or quarterly.

Agreed, it’s very easy to recommend this phone for 799, and seeing how the 8/128GB Realme 6 is already 1,199, I’m guessing the Pro will retail for 1,399.

Actually at this price why you guys rather get realme instead of something like Xiaomi Mi 9 or Lenovo z6 pro? Both come with snapdragon 855 processor and priced around rm1299-1399

Security patches are quite important bro, coz they address any vulnerabilities that hackers may exploit.

The Lenovo is a bit of a risk here coz of the after sales service but yes, the Mi 9 is probably a better choice for a phone below 1.5K vs any midrange phone. To be honest, I would probably think twice too before buying the Realme 6 at the RRP of RM999 - but for RM799, it's good value for money smile.gif

Honestly, if you asked me, I would say the 4/128 is good enough at 799 (sale on May 12th). Don't really see the benefit of spending the additional 200-300 just for the extra 4GB of RAM.

I am very tempted to give this phone a try mainly for that gps accuracy lol
But for the price, and if can get it at RM750, its quite a bargain, just to compare geekbench scores of more expensive mid range phones:

Note 10 Lite geekbench - https://browser.geekbench.com/android_devices/989

Galaxy a71 geekbench - https://browser.geekbench.com/android_devices/987

Realme 6 geekbench - https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_6_pops_up_o...-news-41750.php

The Realme 6 really holds up well.

WoW!!! This phone really great...maybe it still new tongue.gif
Open Waze.....in a second connected to GPS liao...some more i tested indoor inside my room........

Sliding/scrooling really smooth.......can beat my Samsung A70 shocking.gif  but the auto brightness suck.......dim...then bright then dim.....maybe it adapting the situation

Really worth buying this phone at this price.....really....i m not bullshitting....even 4gb of ram can run so smooth shocking.gif

Tested CODM.....very nice....no over/under aim like my previous realme 5s and it is super smooth. No screen slow response issue.
And the phone not hot....just warm warm when playing CODM.

The phone not so heavy and not bulky compare with realme 5s........hand wont get tired fast tongue.gif

2 things no good bout this phone
1. Auto brightness a bit cacat.....maybe have to wait for the update to fix it
2. Speaker not so loud compare with realme 5s but acceptable

1) I'm just curious about the realme 6 heat, besides gaming, lets say you are watching youtube or facebook videos, does the phone get hot? or like when you use google maps or waze, does the phone get hot?

2) Can the auto-brightness be turned off?
I found this on the realme website:
https://www.realme.com/in/support/kw/doc/FAQ1329

3) Also, you mentioned you have a mi max 2, would you say this realme 6 is a good upgrade for the mi max 2? Thank you in advance.

Good spot, bro! I misread that too, also thought it was "include" instead of "exclude". I'll edit my post above to make sure it doesn't mislead more people (including myself, haha)

I've looped YouTube for over an hour on the phone, it doesn't get warm. However a video call for about 1.5 hours on Google Meet does result in the phone getting a little warm. Used Waze but due to MCO, only for short distances. Didnt get too warm but I suspect for longer drives, it will, as most phones will too. GPS lock is fast and accurate.

Auto-brightness can be turned off, no issue on my side.

Will let bro mulut99 answer the part on the Mi Max 2 smile.gif

Yes, auto brightness can be turn off/on at display setting.

Alll phones will heat up even when using whatsapp non stop.....and of course heavy apps will heat up the phone faster.
For this Realme 6 & MiMax 2.......MiMax 2 more heat when on load.
Totaly cannot compare MiMax2 with Realme 6........the chipset different is too far.......when loading apps Realme 6 much much faster than MiMax 2......i think got 2x-3x faster cause i use this phones to play CODM & NFS - No Limit. Realme 6 can set to higher setting when playing [of course higer setting will heat up faster]

Everytime i use Realme 6 play CODM for bout 30min-45min [playing indoor].....the phone just warm warm while MiMax 2 more heat......this G90T not bad at all......impressive tongue.gif

Cant compare heat from the back of this 2 phones cause Realme 6 [plactic] and MiMax 2 is aluminium [spread heat faster].
I only can compare the heat from the screen.....MiMax 2 is more heat.

If u can get Realme 6 at rm799 then worth upgrade from MiMax 2........u sure will feel the different. Only is MiMax 2 got bigger battery and bigger screen. I m still thinking whether want to let go my MiMax 2 and get 1 more Realme 6 tongue.gif

Here is some point comparing Mimax 2 and Realme 6

Realme 6
1. not so hot
2. loading apps faster
3. Smoother
4. Camera better
5. Better screen color
6. Ligther and easy to carry
7. Android 10
8. Faster charging speed [but i use 10w to charge it only]

MiMax 2
1. Battery better
2. Big screen

U think about it whether worth upgrading from MiMax 2 or not.
