When is a good time to visit Japan where the country is not infested with tourists and weather is good?

Is October/ November a good time to visit? I hate travelling during the rainy season.

Any idea on the registration for the Japan web still on going? Everyone need to register and have a qr code?

any recommendation for onsen/sento that is gaijin friendly in central tokyo? esp those that would allow tattoos or provide tattoo cover patches.

just completed my 10 day trip to Japan from Nagoya to Shirakawago/Takayama to Kanazawa to Kurobe Gorge to Matsumoto to Magome and back to Nagoya.

very special thanks to RegentCid for recommending the Oito Line from Itoigawa to Matsumoto. indeed very nice scenic ride.

Yokohama walk2 around the bay, Chinatown. I live in Yokohama city and I usually like to walk around the bay side, big and breezy. Not cram and much more walking friendly than Tokyo.

Thinking rent one day just to go certain places that is hard to access by public transportation.

From my understanding i need to get intl driving lesen right to be able to drive there? I need surrender driving lesen at JPJ when I pick up my IDP?

Thank you for the reply, flight wise not be a problem because the time when I am going to pick up the car I would be in Japan for few days already.
Any rental company that is recommended? I only kind of know that the legecy company like Nissan/Toyota/Honda/Times/Orix is pricier but chances of shit happens would not be an issue.
Read something about must share with them the ID or Passport photocopy if I were to pay by cash just in case anything happen? Also, I tried to understand the insurance coverage but seem like you would still be penalized in a way or so outside of insurance coverage (assuming i choose the most comprehensive)

I wonder if I happen to not own any credit card, will debit card get the job done for paying deposit purpose?

Is it possible to use other ppl credit card to pay the deposit? Because I’m the only one with international driving license.

Hi to all sifu here. need some comment here. Travel with my wife and 2 girl (11 year /10 year). May be too early to plan - but winter accomodation seem selling out fast. will use public transportation.

12 Jan - hope reach Chitose airport on time -> 830am)-> Tomamu either by JR or bus - if let say there is blizzard - which one - JR or Bus prone to disruption?

(or worth to join a day trip from sapporo? but i concern about oo much time spend on transport)

I'm planning to propose to my partner during our trip to Hokkaido from September 18th to 29th, and I could use some advice on finding the perfect location. Here are some details about what I'm looking for:

- I prefer a spot that doesn’t attract too much attention from crowds. We want it to be a special and intimate moment.
- I have a friend who will be secretly taking photos and videos of the proposal, so a place where this can be done discreetly would be ideal.
- We're driving from town to town, visiting places like Hakodate, Noboribetsu, Otaru, Sapporo, Biei, and Asahikawa.
- I've researched a few potential locations such as Shikisai no Oka, Otaru Canal, and Mt. Moiwa. However, I'm not sure if these spots are suitable for a proposal without causing inconvenience to others.
- Ideally, we'd love a romantic and scenic spot, or any place that locals in Hokkaido might recommend.

I would love to hear any suggestions you might have for beautiful, relatively quiet locations in Hokkaido that would make for a memorable proposal. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
