I read from wise website. Their debit card can be used to withdraw from visa atm?

Can anyone confirm or did it before?

Cash withdrawals
You can also withdraw cash from most ATMs — except the countries specified above for US and non-US cards respectively. If you don’t know of any ATM near you, just use the Mastercard ATM locator or Visa ATM locator to find one.

It’s better to use Pasmo or Suica in Tokyo if wanna use with Apple Wallet? Can be easily reloaded with our credit cards. Thanks!
*
if im not wrong suica and pasmo doesnt really matter, both are fine to use. I personally use suica because I like the penguin biggrin.gif , just a reminder that only mastercard works with both pasmo and suica reload atm. For some reason they take away the ability to top up with Visa.

It's been a while I've not entered Japan since pre-covid

May I know if there are any additional requirements (documents) to bring along to enter Japan?

1. Passport
2. If I remember I have to manually write on some immigration card given by the stewardess.

Anything new that I should be aware of?

To confirm, no more Covid-related requirement?
*
Very easy, just go to visit japan web and fill in all the details for immigration and customs then the website will give you a qr code for each. I just went through the customs 3 days ago and they dont even check the bags. Just scan your qr code at the machine, show it to the customs counter and they just let you go. Same with immigration, register your fingerprints and face at the machine, show your passport at the counter and they will chop your passport. Voila.

Custom counter and immigration counter different?
*
Yes different counter, when you first reach will need to go through immigration first where they chop your passport and later customs. Both will requires qr code to be scan.

QUOTE(Blofeld @ Oct 14 2023, 11:17 PM)
when did you generate the QR code?

was it several days before arrival? If like that, does the QR code remain the same all the time even if you generate it again?

or you must generate only when you reached the counter? I'm afraid i don't have internet connection when just arrived.
*
After you fill in each form, the qr code will be auto generated for you. You can do so I think 6 months before. IIRC, the qr code will change every 6 months.

i just remember that driving down the road heading towards the overhead bridge is very scenic bcos of mount fuji. i think there are better spots along that road instead of lawson.
*
Mount fuji in the background, can check the pictures on google. A lot of people go.

there is no true 'unlimited' data roaming. Most roaming plans/SIMcard/pocket wifi give u 1-3GB/day data usage, then will throttle your speed
*
i used to saw ppl say this brand is truly unlimited, even with a lot of download and streaming also no throttle
https://www.japan-wireless.com/

but not sure real or not, better take with a grain of salt sweat.gif

if arrived late at night and miss all the trains and dont want to take taxi, is there any place in the airport area to sleep / nap till early morning for the train to start?
*
Which airport are you arriving in? hnd or nrt?

if take air asia to hnd, ur choice is either stay at the airport seat until 5am or can go other nearby hotel near the airports. Some of the hotels do offer free shutter bus but will have to depend on the timetable. My bro last week stay at hotel mystays haneda and he missed the shutter bus but he took taxi to the hotel the fare i think not even 1000 yen, also the front desk is 24/7 and at least you have a place to stay. One option is to stay at capsule hotel in terminal 1 but that place always full so.. Inside terminal 3 there's another hotel as well call royal park but very expensive. Another option is to sit at a cafe near the arrival hall toilet which they operate i think 24/7? But need to order smtg to eat and drink sweat.gif

ahhh lucky youuuu.... i did not manage to get this shot and the one at the station due to bad weather

but lucky Arakurayama did not disappoint
*
tbh i found this lawson spot overrated and too many ppl make it very hard to take pic, the view from the lake itself is much more awesome. arakurayama also quite nice.

Personally, I've flown a few times with PAL.

Their in-plane experience from KUL > MNL is older fleet but still alright for me, more or less same like MAS.

But for longer trips such as (MNL > KIX; MNL > SYD; MNL > HND), I would say PAL is way better than MAS (took MAS business class, didn't even felt as wow compared to PAL economy for the price points).

The only thing is transit experience, if you can, go for either transit 1 full day (arrive morning, fly next morning); or as short as possible (< 3 hours). Anything in between 3 - 16 hours would not be recommended as the airport is rather small and nothing much for you to do.

Youtube reviews generally do not paint a full picture of the price point you pay (for full service airlines).

Of course, AirAsia might be slightly cheaper if buy early (about 1.3k return trip, but you still need to add luggage); but PAL includes luggage 30kg + meals + in flight entertainment (I bought mine for 1.5k return).
*
Mcm not bad eh, maybe next flight going to try PAL. Btw, hows the leg room?
