looking at the price is way too expensive compare to others
you use that before? hows the speed and stable?
yes saw digi for rm90, you sub before? hows the speed and stable?

Was in East hokkaido the rural parts and we tap on to nttt docomo as part of maxis and digi
Speeds was fine and good

With digi or maxis don't have to change sim and digi had like free calls of 10mins

Yet to use ubigi but I plan to use it

It’s cheaper than our telco for 10GB data (lasts 30 days), costs about 18 USD (~RM84)

but there's a 10% discount

however Ubigi is just internet plan, there is no phone call included

For those who are contemplating buying a portable wifi device and inserting a JP travel sim for use, I can confirm Sakura Mobile works. I am using a TP Link M7450. Had a Hello1010 (doesn't work with portable wifi device based on my experience) and a Sakura Mobile sim (I bought this for testing purposes but I ended up using it throughout the trip since it is unlimited data)

I didn't set Sakura Mobile's sim in my portable wifi up till the last day due to failing to get Hello1010's sim to work. Hello1010 sim's setup attempt was a wasted 1 hour of frustration. Set up the APN as per the instruction paper but it doesn't want to connect to the network. Hence I didn't want to bother wasting more time to test out if Sakura Mobile's sim works as well or not.

Only decided testing Sakura Mobile's on the last day at the airport before returning to MY since I needed to put in my MY sim back in my phone anyways (I wanted to be able to connect back to the Digi network immediately for family contacting purposes and not go through the hassle of swapping out sims on the plane or at KLIA). Since the Sakura Mobile staff had helped configured the APN on my phone, I just copied the settings onto the TP Link app. The password needed to be looked up at their website (it's jpn in small caps) and it works perfectly fine after that.

PS: For Kansai airport, Sakura Mobile's counter opens at 7am and the JTB's counter to collect the Osaka Amazing Pass opens at 9am (it's not 7 am). As the direct flight from Malaysia touches down at 5:45am and the process of disembarking, waiting for the train to go to the main terminal and clearing the immigration and customs was roughly 30 minutes (was already at the arrival hall by roughly 6:15 am based on the 6:25 am timestamp of the first photo of Kansai Airport in my phone). So there will be almost 3 hours of sitting in KIX while waiting for the counters to open. So do anything that can be done in the meantime, e.g. purchase/charge up IC card, redeem any JR West tickets that was bought online, etc).

Had you try search in Lost & Found Department in nearest station which you think it drop? 70% you can get back your lost card.

Even reissue Suica card for you, inside also zero credit unless you know the serial number of your lost card so the staff can transfer the credit.

Need advise for a way from Osaka to Tokyo for 2 pax

1) Night coach from Osaka to Tokyo <- Cheapest but least comfy
2) Night train (Sunrise Seto) <- seems very difficult to book
3) Spend one more night in Osaka/Tokyo (RM300+ for accommodation), use shinkansen the next day

If going for option 2 or 3, recommended to get the JR pass, right?

We'll be planning for 1 week in Osaka and another week in Tokyo in Sept

JR Pass not really worth it by travel one way.
Night coach from Osaka to Tokyo got luxury bus. Super comfortable. Very limited seat & it run only at Sat & Sun
https://www.kanto-bus.co.jp/english/nightway/dream-sleeper/

BTW, you choose the worst month to visit Tokyo. biggrin.gif Raining season.
It wll rain avg 10-14hrs per day. Morning can rain until evening. biggrin.gif
Make sure you buy cheap umbrella from 100 - 150 yen shop. (transparent umbrella). Basically everytime you step into shop and you come out will be another person same type umbrella. Everyone using the same, people just grap & go.

Sad story to share:

Takayama most famost 喜八郎 Kihachiro Beef Bun are permantly closed.
Feel sad for those haven't been to Takayama travellers.

Alternative shop was 飛騨牛まん本舗 but the taste still can't compare to 喜八郎.

Big news

Suica & Pasmo will be temporary out of stock until further notice. Anyone going Japan starting 8 June 2023 will not able to buy any Pasmo or Suica from any JR ticket office / machine. Convinence store might have some stock left until finished.

I'm planning to travel to japan (north-eastern honshu) in February for skiing and basically to see snow.

these are the places that i know in the north eastern honshu side

Zao onsen (skiing, to see snow monster)
Aomori (to see snow monster)
Ginzan onsen (to take pictures)
Yuzawa (skiing)

any other places (north-eastern honshu) that I should visit for skiing and to see snow?

I've already been to Hakuba in the Japanese alps area during winter.

Is Sendai worth stopping by?

If you like Extreme then can challenge Yamadera Temple. Extreme physical challenge specially climbing the steep stair on thick snow + slippery.
Reward on top are speechless.
