Checked its fitting, with how it fits with the fold, with the thin Aramid case, fits just fine with the swivel down dock accommodating. With any thicket case should be even more perfect, provided the case doesn’t block the USB-C port.

Dex is perfect on this. All laggy latency eliminated using this compared to wireless. It already feels like having another PC at home.

HDMI out supporting HDR. With two additional USB ports for anything else.

I’ve tested Ethernet USB adapter, wired and wireless mouse and keyboard via this USB port, USB powered hard drive , that I can install apps or games or emulators with large ROM file sizes ( instead of filling up the internal space),....all thanks to the powered nature of the Dex Pad. In a pinch, if I need to, I can use the Fold as trackpad. The Dex Pad also built with slots with fan kicking in when running Dex, to cool your device, which it needs to, as it gets plenty toasty when multitasking on Dex. Which is why I don’t dare run wireless Dex multitasking for extended period of time, it gets hotter even faster and easier. Imagine if Exinos chipset.

Between this Dex Pad and the earlier version called the Dex Station, there were reports that Dex Pad supports up to 1440p60 with HDR, compared to Dex Station only 1080p60, so be warned if you planning to get the older version.

As for what Dex does,



Why not just get the plenty and much cheaper China branded USB-C docks available?or other USB-C docks or hubs meant for PC. I’m looking from the aspect of safety and compatibility , after the number of incidents I had with my Nintendo Switch with these China branded cheaper docks and hubs. Video out flickering, sometimes cutting off completely, there were even reported case of failure to charge the USB-C it’s connected to, or worse, killing the Switch itself. So you’ll pardon me being paranoid with our expensive Folds, I’m not taking any chances just to safe some RM. The same with cases, I’m wary with China branded cases with regard to poor fitting or staying on the Fold, thus failure to protect the 7999 investment. Not taking any chances with something like this. You’ve spent that much on the Fold and yet you’re cheaping out on protecting your investment?
