Pirating on the PS3 is possible but pointless.

Don't think a modchip is needed. Don't quote me on this though.

Anyway, all you need is/are:

- a dedicated PS3 Homebrew guru for the PS3 firmwares. (Each Firmware has to be rehacked from scratch)

- time to download 20gb+ per game through torrent. (SlySoft Inc. managed to cracked the Advanced Access Content System (AACS) and Digital Rights Management (DRM), FYI. Google it.)

- a Blu-Ray disc burner (go check yourself how much one costs  laugh.gif )

- Blu-Ray-R discs

- alot of luck to not brick your PS3 using Homebrews

So it's definitely possible but sorry to burst some people's bubbles, it's really pointless.

hmm how long did it take last time to mass produce DVD ? We may use back the time period to estimate when will a modded PS 3 can be produced haha

Whether people could mass produce or not is one question. Bricking your PS3 from modding or installing Homebrew PS3 Firmware is another.

What is the point if people could mass produce Blu-Ray but there are no PS3 to play the game due to PS3s dying/bricking? doh.gif

At the top of your PS3 box, check the bottom right corner. There is a sticker there. Is yours CECHE12(Hong Kong) or CECHE06(Singapore). And 'HK5' is printed on my sticker as well because it's Hong Kong version. Hope that helps thumbup.gif

According to Kaz Hirai, the 40gb PS3 will be using the 65nm process for the Cell chip but the RSX graphics chip will still be using the 90nm process.

And the 20gb/60gb PS3 might continue production depending on how the consumer reacts. hmm.gif

Dual Shock 3 is only avalaible for Japan this holiday season. You can import it or try and ask Bernard, Keane or Djinn and see whether they are bringing any in.

And from what I have read before this, currently it's only available as an optional purchase, and not bundled with the 40gb PS3. I could be wrong.

But here is one of the site I found:

www.macnn.com - date of news is 9th Oct, so I am not sure how credible it is.

I quote, "The Dual Shock 3 will only be available as an optional $47 device but will ship on the same November 11th release date as the 40GB PS3 in matching black or white, arriving in time for the release of supporting games like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue."

Even Play-Asia and YesAsia says that they are shipping with the SixAxis

Hope that helps.

The official release date for Singapore is on 11th of Nov. Think shops will get their supplies within 1-2 weeks of the official release. Not too sure though but it will definitely be out this month smile.gif

And welcome to the dark side thumbup.gif

The suggested price for the PS3 on the Playstation site (click me, I am a link) is SG$559. And if you use the currency calculator at x-rates.com, SG$559 = RM1296.47. Bear in mind, that is is just the rough calculation.

Play-Asia list it at RM1342 without shipping cost yet, I guess.

So my estimation for the 40gb PS3 would be at RM1400, more or less based on what I see on the Playstation and Play-Asia site.

Don't quote me on this. I am just a normal gamer who does not own a game shop. Everything I said is just my estimation/guessing. So, please take note on this fact. laugh.gif

I guess Bernard, Keane and Djinn could not give everyone a price yet because they have to wait and see what the supplier has to say.

So everyone who is curious about the 40gb PS3's pricing. Please, at least wait till 11th or 12th of November before you guys start asking for the price from them.

Hope that helps smile.gif

I think 40Gb PS3 is Nice.Even though it was not 65nm Processor.
compare to PS3 80GB.it cost Rm 1.8k for 80Gb and 1.4k k for 80GB
a 5200RPM Sata harddisk cost about RM 210 if u look at lowyat price treat.
But if u live outside Malaysia u cant get a Harddisk that cheap tongue.gif

Munak, I posted this on Post #489 biggrin.gif

According to Kaz Hirai, the 40gb PS3 will be using the 65nm process for the Cell chip but the RSX graphics chip will still be using the 90nm process. However, the shrinkage of the CPU is considered enough to cut the power consumption of the PS3.

And the 20gb/60gb PS3 might continue production depending on how the consumer reacts.

Lol, camping here won't increase my post count. Just like to help people out and inform people bout the PS3 if I could smile.gif And I was the one who posted what Kaz Hirai said. laugh.gif

Maybe it's because I experienced a few times where no one care bout what I asked. So yea, if someone ask something or state something and I could add to it, why not? It's no fun being clueless smile.gif
