bryanyeo: Thanks for the tip. If I disable 'Automatic fan speed' in the bios, then by default it will run at full speed, right?

Some other question:
1) Easytune report ram volt as 2.1 (but I let all the volt as default)
the bios dont seem to monitor ram volt?
2) I cant seem to be able to set the Performance to Standard if I overclock, is this is a normal behavior? (now it is set to Turbo)
*
yes it becomes full speed

1)what ram are you using by the way? you could try to lower the volts down manually
2) normally the sub timings get changed when u change, if you are adventurous, u can press ctrl + f1 at bios tog et the hidden settings page for ram and its sub timings

nvidia nforce 6xxi series chipsets has been known to be mini nuclear reactors smile.gif

ur temps are ok for the stock cooling, so what i can suggest is for you to get an aftermarket NB hsf, or if ur adventurous, uc an use an evercool vcre(rm45) and use zipties to strap it on although caution need to be applied if your doing that

Hi, does anyone here with Gigabyte P35 DS3L flash their BIOS to latest ver, F5?

And is it much safer to flash during BIOS boot than using the windows utility?
*
it is definately safer to flash using bios boot then in windows, less chance of misflashing

or instead of wire, you can use aluminium foil sticked on with AS5 smile.gif

although, using the conductive paint is the most safest way to do it biggrin.gif

fellas.. is there a diff between 'dual core' & 'core2duo'?

Added on October 7, 2007, 3:24 amcan i change my e2160 to atleast an e6600 ?

will it effect anything on my mobo?

pls tell me.. cos i think i've been conned by the shop...

and pls tell me the price for e2160@1.8Ghz ?? pls pls
*
Pentium dual core (exact spelling on the box!) and not pentium D and pentium 4, is esseitially the same as a core 2 duo e4xxx but with a 1mb cache instead of a 2mb cache.

and no you cant change it to a e6600 because e6600 has 4mb cache instead of 1mb, but you can overclock it to a e6600 speeds (and beyond).

yes it will affect your mobo, your mobo will have higer fsb and thus more performance. thats assuming your mobo supports and has options for ocing.

why do you think you have been conned?

e2160 is about rm 300 and below at the moment

Looks like another killer cpu from Intel.
Too bad the cache was limited at 1MB but I dont think thats a problem given that most ppl nowadays just use their pc for word processing, assignment, internet and watching movies or listen to mp3.
*
the 1mb cache affects the overall performance quite minimally compared to a 4mb brethren at the same speeds, just that in gaming and in certain cache dependant benchmarks, the 1mb cache does degrade performance by as little as 2%

errr...wrong thread la bro, but anyway,

i wouldnt think its a incompatibility issue bro, sometimes the preprogrammed vdimm voltage in the ram module doesnt communicate with the mobo due to out of Jedec specs, so you just need to bump the vdimm volts up ur self smile.gif

well, as i said before,
i'm noob..
hehe..

anyway,
what is the safe voltage range for this proc?
*
hehe no la biggrin.gif

depends on what you define as safe smile.gif

normally its +/- 10% of the stock voltages

for hard core ocers, 1.5v is considered minimal laugh.gif

I've tried P35-DS3 and somehow the board maxed out at 485fsb sad.gif DS3R able to reach 520fsb brows.gif

err.. that with E6850 not E2xxx or E4xxx wink.gif
