Yeah, the one I told you. Can't MSN rite now coz at my friend's room and he's online. tongue.gif

Using stock cooler with aluminum base so the cooling really sucks. In addition, his casing only has 1 side intake and 1 exhaust. Both are 80mm silent fans with low CFM cry.gif

Yup it's L2 and I only intend to OC it till 3.2Ghz. Tried to go 3.6Ghz with 1.425V but won't boot plus heat issues so clock back to 3Ghz with 1.375V. Load at 80C makes me shakehead.gif

how about car defogger kits?

probably can get one from the brothers outlet in kelana jaya?
*
I'm not aware of defogger repair kits being sold locally. Would be glad to try if there's any leads and doesn't cost too much, since well.. kitchen foil costs near to nothing laugh.gif

I used to have a tiny bottle of silver conductive ink from back in the AMD Athlon Palomino days(to unlock the bridges), but i really can't remember where i chucked it sweat.gif

work it slowly bro, dont jump to 3.6Ghz when u cant do 3.0Ghz stable. Its a very tough process and test for every overclocker. get a damn good cooler if its L2 but if u only intend 3.2Ghz then freezer is alright

ayoo..i feel flattered  laugh.gif  jk jk... i myself aso on kaizen mode (continous improvement) . retiring OCer, try to keep updated with hardwares at a slower paced, replaced by other young bloods already . guess this is the purpose of having this thread here, to share  biggrin.gif

Actually the GeminII is a good cooler. The wrong move should be on the IFX-14 instead laugh.gif

@kucingfight

we need ppl like you here to teach us lor.. like me also, really noob, need to learn more and more from all the sifus here. but i try to help where i can la.

@sky

temp limit is at 80 degrees bro. You would not wanna see how far it can last.. well try to stop the load at 70 degrees. Anything after that is risky la, in the long run.. also not to forget to get 70 degrees, your Vcore must be pumped really high for that temp. So its a two way thing. Play with voltages below 1.50V as much as you can. If u wanna go beyond that u can, but on your own risk.
*
temp limit is 73c on tjunction. meaning if you open up speedfan or lavalys, take the hottest temp from the cpu to be on the safe side, that is assuming wanna keep it more then a year la haha

according to intel specifications datasheet for the Pentium Dual cores, 1.55v is safe for the cpu, although it is yet to be verified la haha

QUOTE(skymyxe @ Jan 17 2008, 10:27 PM)
The E2160 was at 55C at idle  cry.gif , at 3Ghz with 1.375V it went on 80C at Orthos load.  cry.gif
*
eh... L2 steppings has a lesser tolerance to heat due to the revision

if you wanna blow up stuff, all u need to do is, take AS5, sign the mobo with your signature and at the bottem write out "bye" and turn the pc on, confirmed fireworks haha laugh.gif

the defogger kit is actually the back screen defogger... it should be available locally..
btw, where did you buy the conductive paint from anyway?

talk about orthos... bro, i am going to get shot down by this but try OCCT. See whether you have an issue, its not that you are going to run an overclocked system for days, its just a one off thing rite?

I'm trying to run it for 24/7 and that's why kinda want it to run stable with EIST enable though. Will try and run OCCT today I suppose hmm.gif

Hm.. Yes, i do know it's to repair the back screen, but i ain't too sure about it's availability locally, at least, in retail, as a lot of DIY parts just don't make it to normal retail here in Malaysia, i know as i DIY a lot for most of my stuff tongue.gif But i guess i'll just ask around anytime i'm near any spare parts shop to get my car stuff.

I can't remember where i bought the conductive paint the last time. AXP Palomino days are like at least 6 years ago laugh.gif Man... i feel old tongue.gif

I kinda agree that OCCT is far more stressful(at least, in terms of testing CPU, not too sure about RAM) than Orthos or Folding@Home. Personally tried it, guess that's why most people only test it for 1 hour(compared to the tedious process of leaving the PC for at least 24 hours using Orthos/Prime95) to determine the stability of the processor. I've seem my core temps shot up at least 5°C higher than prime95/folding. rclxub.gif

I'm having same readings from both Intel's TAT and CoreTemp 0.96 though, so i guess that's pretty accurate?

as accurate as core temp +/- 1c (depends on refresh rate)
