China has always been getting the Snapdragon version. But about 1k more expensive than the Exynos Ultra in Malaysia. However, they get 256 GB internal storage.

went to one of the experience store yesterday and had a little bit of time on each of the display unit.

1) the ultra is hugeeee. if you like big screen then okay
2) s20+ 30x zoom is shieetttt! zoomed in became pixelated af.pretty much useless.

started to regret my preorder.

How about the 30x on the Ultra compared to the + version?

I didn't like the camera comparison of iPhone 11 Pro Max and Galaxy S20 Ultra from Supersaf. I can feel the bias in him towards the iPhone. In some of his images, it clearly shows how much detail the S20 Ultra has and just ignores how soft some iPhone images are.

But one thing the S20 Ultra is inferior compared to any previous Galaxy flagship- the autofocus speed. The latest flagship does NOT have dual pixel autofocus due to the new camera sensor.

yes it's better on the ultra. more sharp. however on their 60 and above zoom is getting shitty too

Actually I tested camera of A71, A51, S20 series, Mate 30, and P30 at Harvey store.

Just curious, why Samsung does not put in macro mode to S20 series? Unless maybe its hardward not capable to do it.
I can understand A71 and A51 both have macro mode because it has macro lens so it could take very nice close shot.
But i can't understand is Huawei P30 / Mate 30 which have no macro lens but could take very nice macro shot (super macro mode).

Upcoming MI 10 also have macro lens so I believe it could take nice shot too. Just wonder why no macro mode in s20. Rather prefer macro shot than zoom shot lol which is not so useful at all.

So I guess 10x is the best you could get before the image gets blurry?

Yea.. even on S10+ also work like a chrm.. i get TMax brand last time.

They need another lend which can make tat macro mode.. but not with the lens the phones are using nowadays.


10X is Optical Zoom, Digital Zoom is just the picture at the same resolution getting enlarged.. sure blur for digital zoom.. Optical zoom is hardware zoom, not software processing like digital zoom.

10X is Hybrid...

Many has said true optical could be 5X and 10 is just a cropped version of the 5X.

They don't. Some brands like Huawei use the ultra wide angle lens for macro shots like in the Mate 20 Pro. The reason that phone can use macro because it has auto focus in the ultra wide angle unlike phones like iPhone 11 Pro or Galaxy S10, S20 etc

Galaxy S20 Ultra only has 5x optical zoom.
Galaxy S20 ad S20+ do NOT have true optical zoom.
The second camera sensor that takes telephoto is 64mp but they just crop within the 64mp to get the "zoomed" image.

It's the same principle when you only have a single camera and you zoom into an image.

All previous Galaxy flagship (S10, Note10, Note9, S9, etc) has 2x optical zoom but the S20/S20+ has no real optical zoom.
