When I was at DW Team, yes, you stay at client site for one month and come back for 4 days. Reason is - you're entering the country (client site) with tourist pass, maximum stay is 4 weeks to 6 weeks...

Oh, I left because I didn't want to travel anymore. And the working environment is quite stressful during my time (2002/2003) as the products are not very stable yet. I am not sure if things improve now.

But, the per diem for oversea travel is good. So, it's actually allowing you to earn quite a bit if you are posted overseas...

but from other silverlaker here said that no matter which country you r in but u still get the same allowance in MYR... so how you earn extra? eat very "simple" everyday?
and within 17 months in silverlake, do u feel you gain sufficiant knowledge to jump to other place? is the silverlake make u have any advantage to get better job (especially in $$)? smile.gif

Yes, i think they give RM90 fixed per day. If your pay is RM2000, with RM90 fixed per day, you get extra RM2700 (assuming 30 days). If you're posted to countries like Vietnam or Indonesia, how much can you spend for eating? You won't be eating expensive food everyday right?

And you don't need to pay rental in M'sia, don't need to buy a car, don't need to pump petrol - basically you dont have much commitment.

Internet banking, core banking and others team its better than data warehouse team.
If you want to join silverlake please join other team don't join data warehouse.

Learning limited to the knowledge in term of learning more new thing.. u wont expect much there la
what they have done in one bank they just copy the source code n use in another new project so.. its a same thing actually.
U just need to modified some of the thing accordingly from the user requirement.

Im not bored of travel. and for your information silverlake is not the only company which can travel to overseas to work.

I resigned 3 years ago.

The value that u learn in silverlake DW its not much, compare with if you join core banking u learn RGP, AS400.

AS400, RGP is demanding in SG. u can get high paid there. But DW in silverlake its not much value ... they are using Microsoft BI tools.
while u can learn those Microsoft BI tools by your own.

If you join other BI company, then its diff story la..
