I did asked Unifi technician before, the port is near my house so the speed can get a little more than plan subscribed.

The 300Mbps for RM140 is permanently or just 24 months promo like Unifi?

Permanent. Shown as normal price in website .

Do you mind running a ping test for me? I think after the cable cut... it is impossible to game on NA server
https://gameserverping.com/world-of-warships
In game, my ping can spike from 109ms to 980+...
This test is pretty accurate
*
Im getting 355ms ±10. Steady but quite high even for a destination deep in central US.

For your min ping 109ms I think is outlier. Even in most ideal or theoretical situations, latency to even west coast US wouldn't get below 150ms due to physics constraints like speed of light inside fiber optics tube.

QUOTE(papyrous @ Jan 13 2022, 07:37 PM)
i did it too, just speculation, i THINK it is activated on their side quite fast. then they tell you not to reboot router/disconnect because once you disconnect it wouldn’t work anymore till they come.
so what i can speculate for that, your original PPPoE ID user@celcomhome (private IP) has been deactivated, so you won’t be able to reconnect via that username.
technician will come and change your username to user@celcomfirstfibre.com.my to connect.

couple of guys here have done it themselves, so if you’re familiar with your router and are able to do it yourself just do it and tell the technician it’s done when he calls.
suggestion is to do it on the day he comes, if you’ve done it successfully just let them know when they call. if it’s screwed up let them come and fix it.
*
Yes. can confirm.
1. Only username domain needs to eb changed on the customer side.
2. Celcom loves sending technician to home for shits and giggles.

Celcom fiber registration really sucks, just like DiGi.

Are these really interested to provide the service at all? They asked you to register online and then just send a whatsapp confirmation they received your inquiry followed by silence. They dont even reply to any of your question asking about registration status etc. Damn fark up.
*
Online registration really shyte one. I made request nobody pick up my order. I ended up registered via blucube outlet. On my installation date from where I registered at outlet (like after a month delay solving fiber installation issue first), they finally called me about my online order after the technician finished installing and left. Next few days later got few similar calls still servicing that online order. Really clusterfuck one.

The outlet personnel meanwhile is very good. they help solve my problem with my fiber addressing that tm itself took year to investigate and still fail.

With celcom I learned this one - the support is excellent, as long you stick with boomers way - either via telephone or counter at outlet. Anything online sure made of pure rage and burst capillaries.

Thanks for your feedback on Celcom customer service. I am shopping for new ISP next year. So I have to interface with physical outlet for good service. Celcom internet routing is it usable compare to Unifi?
*
Aside from registration, phone would be better. It's serviced by a dedicated group separate from the rest of mobile divisions. The cons its actually paid support. they charge you 50 cent to just to talk with cs even in home network.

For routing it's hard to say which is better overall; It depends on your usage and needs. But when compared with TM, celcom usually has a better route to HK and Europe, but worse to SG.

I made some test few months back but it might be outdated.
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=find...t&pid=103346769

lost the script I use to make those test and too lazy to rewrite it now. so I just post a quick ping test.

Celcom Fibre down again in Sabah area today. Almost every month surely few hours will have connection issue with their service.
*
In Sabah you should use celcom only if it's confirmed serviced by hsbb not celcom timur

Just noticed the router firmware update prompt actually updates to factory firmware, thus unlock the @celcomfibre wifi suffix.
guess this does not void celcom warranty since the update is done by router itself

Finally I've signed on to Celcom Fibre and am using it now. My setup is using the TP-Link router provided by Celcom. I tried looking DNS setting but to no avail. Anyone knows how I can change the DNS in the router (TP-Link AX1500)?

My connection is doing fine. Im running rsync to LA and Tokyo all the time everyday so any packet loss or latency spike should be immediately noticeable.

Am interested in getting rm80 plan.

Is the provided router's firmware a custom firmware like isp M's router or is it stock tp link firmware with C's isp settings only?
*
The one provided out of box is custom with verry little hardcoded config.
But there is firmware update available in admin config. The update is, for some reason follows mainline tree so you will be instead updated to new stock firmware.

Maybe your router is the newer batch that come with latest celcom firmware

Try flash the firmware that come from website? but nobody have confirmed if it is compatible or not. Even if it's the same model segment, it may have different SKU for nonretail version.

celcom having problem with international connection?
my online gameplay is lagging really bad. playing on US server.

Working fine here.
If you have longstanding latency issue, try to identify its specific subnet and confirm its not the host problem.
Then make a case to cs and be clear that is it about peering.
They will transfer the case to network team. The issue solved after some updates back and forth.

Got two issues with HE peering solved this way before.

how do i identify a subnet? using traceroute with my ip?
my ping in gaming is unstable after 11am.

edit: ran the game diagnostic:

It is easiest to use ip info tools and see which subnet range it belongs to. if ping to other in range has same latency pattern high chance it is routing issue.

why it pings to aws dns tho. should ping direct to the server you can get much more and accurate info.
based on your tracert there is some problem on gtt network in Europe but I couldn't replicate the issue I'm getting stable 160ms ping rn.

Hi folks,
does Celcom home Fibre ride on the same infra with Unifi Home Fibre or Maxis Home Fibre?
Celcom Home Fibre's 30mbps priced at RM80 , which is the cheapest so far.
Any downside? wonder why it can be cheaper than unifi and maxis at the same speed.
*
Mostly on tm infra.
Celcom does not offer triple play. Unifi and Maxis have voip.

Unifi used to include iptv on all packages. But now they also offer tv less package yet at the same expensive price. In this case its just blatant overpricing by TM and there is nothing we could do about it with our current useless comm minister.

Infra pricing is just small part of total cost transferred to consumer. There are more important stuffs like existing network assets for example ip pool and peering, as well internal efficiency that dictates how much price they could sustainably offer in the market.

so still not ready. I thought it was just a problem with my router. haih.

you actually get working ipv6, it is just not delegated to lan for some reason.
user posted image

such a waste. their ipv6 is already very good.
I get better performance with ipv6 for my servers in California and London when I connect directly from router.

I did called 111 and ask "where's my IPv6 addr?" while requesting for Public IPv4. however the one from the other end dunno what am I talking about and replied 'System Issue'... system issue my axse bangwall.gif  whoops.

but is it safe to share your public ipv6 liddat?  blink.gif

Today the Celcom HQ called me though as I sent feedback on mcmc lol... but signal quite shit bcos sometimes latched to 5g towers then unlatched (you know la DNB will forcefully drop your calls) while driving... then the HQ guy told me he will call afterwards...dang

Is it? I thought I wasn't assigned an IPv6 address by Celcom though... cos I thought Private IP users won't get one

Sheesh can't wait to use that already drool.gif

actually I never show full image so... yeah haha. censored for fun(?)...

its dynamic ip. reconnect and get entirely new /64.
even if people get my ip what they going to do anyway? magically make my firewall accept a random connection? or Call celcom and ask them to reveal my private info? laugh.gif

ipv6 should route to all of your devices regardless of your ipv4 type.
In fact, I have a worry that once celcom get their ipv6 working, there will be less reason for them to continue to conveniently offer public ipv4 for free.
