but at least join 1 month mah and nid alway sign in to prevent deleted of account mah ,so mafan ,i think conman will go con at other place mah
No, this will not reduce conman, but I bet this will reduce people's interest to come to this forum, cause if they don't login frequently, their account will be deleted(worse if they come with another new account = more duplicates). Not everybody will login everyday, some of them only login once in 2 weeks or maybe some busy ones 1 month once?

QUOTE(zac1 @ Sep 3 2007, 03:21 PM)
if really wan to reduce the con case ,why dun make it only senior member or those safe trader can post TZ thread lor
I guess we'll have more spammers or senior-members-wannabe if we implement that.

QUOTE(zac1 @ Sep 3 2007, 03:21 PM)
for those junior wan post TZ thread ,they have to pay RM100 to admin as deposit or IC verify then get the verify member tag lar

Nobody gonna be that free to collect deposit and return to them back once the forummers became senior member. We have close to 100k of members but only around 75 moderators.

p/s: That'll also be a big turn off for newcomers. Who would pay RM100 as deposit just to sell their RM5-10 used stuff? Not everybody can afford RM100 as deposit

If not, we can ammend the rules for new member registration, a valid handphone no and a photocopy of their MyKad (uploaded online) before the new member application is approved by the mods / admins.

There are an increasing number of con cases here lately but at the same, I have been getting very good deals from trustworthy sellers here. So, it's more like a win-lose situation. Well, we should put on our thinking caps to come out with an effective solution to reduce the number of con cases. Come on everybody, time to contribute some suggestions. cheers.gif

It's all in http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=faq&article=38

My question to you back:-

How are you going to verify handphone number? In malaysia, you can buy and register it without IC(seen a lot too) and they can register fake details. Even if telco could give details, but fake details does you no good also.

The best method is still, research and use logic thinking. Don't be greedy with the unbelievable cheap price.
Never bank-in 100% if you do some front-payment/reservation. Play safe by yourself and you save yourself from mess.

Well, that's why I mentioned that a photocopy of their MyKad for new member registration. If there are any con cases involving a particular seller, the mods / admins can release the details to the affected party.

That's true unless for COD, partial payment is allowed but again, even for COD, it can turn into a con case as well. doh.gif

Hi there, just as suggestion for the ideas in the precious few posts, for those members who would like to do selling would have to register for a trader tag before they can open a sales thread which requires their particulars. What do you guys think?

well not all ppl are traders. some are just here to sell a small few items which cost around 5 ringgit while some would sell handphones..
not all ppl will want to register for a tag just to sell 5 linggit stuffs..

or how bout this, if the amount which is more than rm200 then requires their particulars to be handed to the mods? smile.gif

Come to think about it, yeah, it would be a pain for those who are selling small stuff and/or second hand stuff. I was thinking it would be good if the mods implement that for sales of new items which is above a certain value as u sugested, and use that for certain items only such as phones or computer parts, coz for certain stuff such as hobby stuff and collectibles, vintage stuff prices might go up quite high as well.

Should we actually make an official rules & regulation(policy) to make sure all having dispute tag can't open any sales thread?

how bout we create a database that contain those disputes account number then when ppl post their bank account number in this forum either at thread or pm, the forum engine will try to verified the account number. if the account number is found out to be use by a con man/woman then it will change it font let say to red.

example...
as usual forumer will straight away type their account number.. 123456789
if 123456789 is found out belong to a con man/woman account then
it will become 123456789, then create a FAQ bout this implementation. i think this is enough to warn ppl..

another suggestion is account number is compulsory in every sales thread. without bank account number, can't open thread.

This will not work in a certain way where people who open a thread for sales required COD only. smile.gif

when it is compulsory, cod also need a bank account then...
well if cod, means u meet face to face...the worst is ffk only..time and some petrol money is wasted...

if u do postage sells, time for waiting, login everyday then a big amount of money can be cheated..

after reading three pages... i came up with an idea... why not create a "feedback" column for each user...so that buyers could know what kind of service he gave...
