i find it very hard to find quality food at the groceries.

i read all keto heroes in youtube, they all always say to use only "grass-fed", "organic", "pasteurized" etc2 but where to find such items in Malaysia? even jaya grocer, cold storage also not many choices.

im beginning to afraid to continue keto because if not done correctly it may jeopardize my health instead of bringing benefit. there a lot of people in youtube also already warning of bad consequenses from keto if not done correctly.

Those MTC oil bought mainly from US (Cheaper than local)

Egg, meat, vege mainly from any local stores. Iberico pork belly and wagyu beef are the best for keto.

P/S: Keto is atas diet, ayam go intermediate fasting now but takes very low carbs.

Keto is a low carb high fat diet. Not a high class super healthy strict diet.

If you can get those then its better but not necessary. All those in the mall will be fine but stay away from processed one. Eat varieties don't go crazy on meats.

What can possibly go wrong with keto diet? Its' known that carb-restriction diet will make your body physically weak & mentally weak due to carb-craving.

I did strict KETO for 4 months. The first week was hell. But after that it was nice. My skin was clear, my brain was sharp and I was generally happy. Until I started working out heavy again. Soreness longer and more than usual. SO carb cycling works for me.

But it's not true la, you won't feel weak. If your body is highly toxic, you'll have keto flu for sure. I didn't have that because I generally ate clean and don't have a sugar addiction at all.

It's not clean or not.

Body main source of energy is glucose. When you're low on that then you will feel weak, hungry, mood swing, carb craving, etc.

Funny story: perhaps looking at the blood test results (which I did after keto), was pretty good.

1. You don't just eat crap fats all day lah. Please. fresh veges, healthy fats like avocado, olive oil etc.
2. Calorie controlled. Duh. Basic 101. Cutting calories.
3. My main problem was dairy and glucose. Spikes in my insulin caused my hormones to go whack, and I had bloodwork done beforehand to prove it.
4. Keto was advised by my GP, who said to do it clean. And i did. It worked for me when nothing else would. Also it pinpointed why I was having random skin break outs. All that's been solved.
5. When your body swaps it energy storage to fat... the glycogen (glucose) is no longer the main supplement.

What you are very confused about is: different stroked for different folks. Don't hate on what you don't know or perhaps never even experienced. It has health benefits for folks who do it right, it also has consequences for people who do it wrong.

Oh and I never had mood swings or carb cravings. What I had was initial annoyance of dryness in my hands despite drinking 1.5 litres of water. Once I doubled the water intake, all these solved itself. I was also able to sleep so well at night. Did not feel weak at all. In fact I was lifting heavier and running faster on days iI worked out. ONly issue was soreness was a little longer than usual when doing new workout. But after reading up and gettign medical advice from qualified pros (aka the GP), this was solved.

Again, different strokes for different folks.

I think you confuse la.. I don't hate the diet plan. I'm telling threadstarter what could possibly go wrong with keto diet since he/she afraid to go on..
I respect everyone trying achieve good health but there are many other easier ways. If its losing fat then just eat less & exercise more. Calorie in vs Calorie Out.

Second thing you confuse is whether you eat clean or not, short term or long term, just started or already been on keto for while. Losing glucose as your primary source of energy will definitely weaken your body.

Also, your body swaps to fat as energy source cause its trying to survive as you're restricting carb.. If u eat carb then your body will use it first cause its easier to digest.

I know your pain. I only shop at Jayagrocer. Really they don't have much but that seems the only option here in Malaysia. I try to eat only organic meat and eggs. I don't like organic chicken they have.

threadstarter should know that keto diet may not be ll that good for our basic metabolism. its not as simple as what we choose to eat; there are so manay systems in the body eg energy-balance, internal metabolism, metabolism in exercise, weight management, glucose management etc; they are dependent on thousands of chemical reactions run by thousands of enzymes and cofactors. balanced eating and regular mild to moderate exrcise should be the starting point of healthy living. just merely reminding ourselves of what is central and essential and what could be just mere fads
