Hi guys, I’m currently looking at Trek SL6 Pro 105 di2 (carbon wheelset) and Tarmac sl7 comp 18k alloy wheelset (di2 or Sram)

Can’t really decide which to go for.. anyone here rode before these 2 bikes?

Sram looks neat without the cables, but the shifters hood size is quite big for my hands.
105 di2 hoods are nice to hold.

Carbon wheel set better since it is disc brake.

This is not the way to buy a bike. Suggest you go for bike fit and get your absolute measurement

Then see which frame your body align to

Sorry to say components vs price should never be a deciding factor. U can get a sl7 di2 vs cannondale caad alloy. If your body ngam on the cannondale, you will have less ache and probably faster due to improved comfort with the right frame

So choose the best frame for your body and then compare from there

To me di2 is the best. Absolute magic and smoothness of shifting and just charge battery once a month for 1500km total duration of ride and also depend if u change gearing alot

As for wheelset, once u get fast u will want faster wheels and often those that come with sub20k bike be it carbon or alloy isn’t that great. Unless it’s hyper or something

But surely you can tailor your bike to fit your needs, after all you can choose frame size and change saddle height, saddle fore/aft, stem height, stem length, handlebar width, crank length, cleat position etc?

Also anyone watching the Vuelta currently, seems like Vingegaard is going really well. Remco looks fast but I believe Vingegaard will do exactly what he did to Pogacar in this year's TDF.

Problem is, no news for msia Shimano. Most of other sites sharing this announcement focus more to US and Europe market.

So now can only wait la

went for bike fit, and the Tarmac SL7 doesnt suit me well. size 49 too small, size 52 standover height too tall.

the emonda SL6 size 50 suits me well.
now currently using the 105 di2 and the stock bontrager alloy wheels first, chanaged tires to 30c vittorias.

gonna ride for 1 year or 2 first, only will look into wheelsets.
