yes i also agree with you. even with my previous Manulife insurance. Before purchasing, they had everything coming with this is GOOD , lots of benefits etc... etc..After few years, Manulife company starts to send me letter told me the premium have to increased . I was wtf.. after 2-3 years, they send letter and increase again.. If i look at the current promotion by other agency, it's really not worth it . It's like i have to cancel the old one and buy new one.

Is yours one of those investment linked type insurance? I thought they promised will not increased price?

no, just a hospitalization but their clause is stated that premium increase are based on market . so we cannot do anything if their company increase . they increase a lot though but what ever annual limit they provided last time stays and not worth it if u buy the latest one No limits claim or higher coverage.

That is simply not true.. Axa eMedic is 100% fully covered and paid for by the insurance company directly. As long as you visit their panel hospitals, which is basically all major hospitals through-out Malaysia, you don't have to pay anything if you are admitted.. Which is exactly the same as other insurance..
Read my reply.. he is providing mis-information..

This review gives everything to make your informed decision. https://www.ibanding.com/axa-emedic-medical-card/
Not true.. you are providing mis-information..

here are the facts:
For as low as RM50/month, you get,

RM100,000/yr medical fee coverage,
RM250 board room rates,
Cashless admission,
Panel hospital cover at all major & some minor hospitals through-out Malaysia,
Limited overseas coverage, &
Coverage for all the usual illnesses & diseases.

It is by far the best package right now because it cuts out the middle man, the insurance agent & investment type policies.. this policy is precisely for those who want a hassle-free, minimal cost, & full medical coverage plan.

Infact, I decided to buy it because I wanted to move my family of 4 directly under one package for convenience. I approached the major insurance companies and none could even propose a package that covers 4 individuals.. AIA was the only one that has a family package, but you need 5 individuals and it costs more than 1000RM/month.. This greed is being taken way too far and i'm surprised that AXA are the only company to recognise this and have introduced a hassle-free, & reasonably priced product, that perfectly meets my needs & requirements for people like myself.

Infact, their package for individuals are even better! RM500,000 limits, RM500 board room rates, etc. Truly first class medical insurance package for less of the cost than even the most basic package AIA, Prudential, GE, etc can offer to you.. AXA eMedic is a true winner.

Whether or not you need an agent, it is up to the individual.. If you are tech savvy and can post on an online forum, I do not see you having any issues whatsoever..

Noted I might be wrong but I just need to sure regarding this plan . This is what i read from.

https://www.axa.com.my/assets/SmartCare-Optimum-Brochure.pdf

A comprehensive coverage that gives you a high range of benefits. From a full refund on in-patient and day surgery costs
to high benefits for various out-patient treatments. When it comes to medical coverage, SmartCare Optimum is just what
the doctor ordered.

ps : I think optimum is different product than AXA e-medic that you mentioned. Optimum did cover until 500k yearly.

The annual max for E-medic is 100k only

understandable that costs increase. But, even my prudential agent hasn't informed me of necessary increases, in the 10 years I was with him...

Maybe they just have too many clients by now..

anyways, my thinking is quite simple.. Just get the most coverage that you can afford.

**edit**
in reply to both of you, for investment link really down to the fund your agent select for you, besides that standalone also increase every 5 years and no guarantee renewal as in once a person got heart att, the fella may no longer insured next year.

with medical cost keep rising... the only due diligence is check the fund your agent select for you, try to look for those with fixed income as in return 4~5% annually. the return can help you to lock your current fees longer

wow. That's family package of RM 148 per month , i would say the best of all insurance policy now.

Who ever think their package have this deal please stand up . I like to see the best of the best.
RM 100K per individual per year ,  that's something nice too but not if the patient is a cancer or diabetic type. That treatment could cost more in private hospital.

I called up AXA to ask them and they confirmed emedic plan exclude outpatient cancer treatment and outpatient kidney treatment

Coz nowadays all are almost same. Maybe just slightly different and I think which insurance company also enough to cover you.

AXA eMedic..

Costs me RM148/month for family of 4..

Package includes Rm100,000/year hospitalisation limit for each individual.

RM250/day room-rates. Means I can afford a single suite at all the private hospitals.

Same list of health coverage as AIA/Prudential.

overseas Brunei, & SG temporary travel coverage.

etc.

For similar family package at other companies, it will cost me 1000rm a month.. and neither of the main insurance companies have a family package..

no brainer for me really..

Can upgrade also they can go uo to rm1.5mil a year for hospitalisation.. Now i need to go do my medical checkuo then go apply.. Damn worth it imo.

Seems like now AXA provides an upgraded version SmartCare Optimum Plus... basically max coverage increased to 2.1 mil instead of 500k...

Sometimes I wonder what is left of the patient if 2.1mil worth of treatment is given to him...

Which package your choose? With deductable or without deductable?

With deductable, you need to pay RM 1000 per admission. Non-deductable is full coverage.

If we look into non deductable package, Great Eastern did offer better option for standalone medical card.

Erm..btw yes I am insurans agent, not here to promote but to clarify above statements.

I'm using investment linked type medical insurance for 9 years already. Within 9 years, the premium had increased one time by rm20, from rm162/month to rm182/month. So, I guess, the price does increase eventually..

Any med.ins recommendations for non-family man? I have a company insurance but I'd like secondary backup. Around <RM120 per month would suffice.

Can't agree more.
Once, I was hospitalised and did not bring my medical card. So all paid using my credit card.
After discharged, pass all the bills to my Manulife agent for reimbursement and all done in a month.

Another time, my son was hospitalized and again forgot to bring medical card.
Again, all charged into my credit card and once discharged, pass all bills to my another agent (Prudential).
This time, the agent blamed me for not bringing the medical card and asked me to go to the hospital to get all the required report.

That's y agent is more important that the company.
