FH5:Hot Wheels. I missed out on FH3 and the first Hot Wheels DLC so did not really know what to expect. I had bought the premium add-on pack before the launch so I already had the expansion downloaded and ready to go yesterday.

I had a blast playing - the tracks are really designed for speed and is a totally different experience from regular FH. I was playing on Pro difficulty and you really get punished for every mistake you make which also makes the wins more rewarding. Unlocked the S2 races and events.

Solid expansion overall.

I had a scare just now when my XSX kept asking me to update to play online then the update process kept getting stuck at 3%, tried various solutions for an hour to no avail.

When the offline system update kept failing, I thought I need to send the console for repair. Then I remember I am on different version as I am subscribed to the insider program, but the offline update file for preview build isn't available for download.

Luckily there's a workaround, I can use Xbox Insider Hub app on PC and unenrolling the console. Wait few mins and restart the console then it let me update back to normal build, I only lost my user profile along with the display settings.

Since we are on the topic of cloud gaming. I decided to give Xbox cloud gaming another try and to my surprise it has improved a lot. I mean miles better compared to last year when I first tried it.

Previously I would say it's totally not playable. Input lag was crazy bad. But today I tried again using South Korea, Australia and US server. US is still considered laggy, South Korea and Australia is good.

First I tried TMNT and there were no pixelation and no lag. I am using DS4 over bluetooth to my Mac and using Safari. Really no perceptible input lag.

So I thought maybe TMNT don't require much processing power so I changed to FH5. Previously when I tried, it was very pixelated and driving game cannot tolerate any input lags.

But look at the video below. (Sorry for the bad quality) Taken using my phone. I m going left and right on purpose. See the thumb stick movement against the car. It's really playable.

Skip to the end when I do small adjustments on the thumb stick, can see the input lag is really acceptable. Can't wait for cloud gaming to reach SG. it will definitely be better.

Im using ExpressVPN.
Connect to Australia, South Korea but go to US Xbox.com/play website.
Once connected and load a game, disconnect the VPN.

Yep, you could do it on the console itself, another console with the console app, phone app and window store app.

Just beware that changing between insider preview and normal build usually resets all the user settings, you would have to sign in again and customize all your setting again. Luckily all your downloaded games would still be there.

If you want to play around with beta or alpha builds, then you better backup your settings to external storage first then use the transfer setting option after you updated.

still near 1K for just 1Tb doh.gif
MS seriously need to have a price cut now

Sony has the upper hand this time, a decently fast 1Tb SSD can have for less than RM600 already, and it's still getting cheaper

For once, Sony got it right. Usually they are the ones who love forcing proprietary media, like the PS1/PS2 memory cards and the PSP/PSVita Memory Stick Duo. I might be more of an Xbox guy, but credit given where it's due to Sony.

Yeah, hardcore fanboys have been arguing in favor of built in batteries since the Dual Shock 3, but they are never going to convince me those are better than replaceable batteries. Not only can I swap out standard AAs with higher capacity ones, I can even use rechargeable battery packs, and not replace the whole damn controller if the battery loses its charge. You win some, you lose some I guess.

yes, it's bad... real bad

DS4 batt life is already bad, DS5 is the worst

4 to 5 hours of normal gaming with the DS5 already depleted it down to 1 bar

guess I'm already too pampered by the xbox controllers, where a pair of eneloop can last me days tongue.gif

You're wrong.

What a lot of people don't realize is that the PS5 intentionally reports the battery to be lower than it actually is. When you get the "battery is low" notification, the controller is only at ~50% charge.

Why does Sony do this? Because it prompts the user to charge the battery at that level since Li-on is best charged at that interval level to maintain long term battery life.

Try using your DS5 after you get the "battery is low" notification, I guarantee you'll get another 3-5 hours of usage time out of it assuming your battery isn't damaged to begin with.

still it's a shitty move that requires recommend you to charge the controller at 50%
from there if you lost track of time then you wouldn't have any idea on how much actual batt level and it will impact your gameplay experience

it's like your car showing you the low petrol signal when it's only 50% full bcos most car doesn't recommend you to drive on near empty tank?
