I got my GPU for the good deal it was when I got it, and still is now. 32 months of GPU for less the price of an original XSX game. Once April 14th 2024 rolls in, I'll re-evaluate again to see if the deal is still good at that time, else cut off. I hold no loyalty nor affiliation to any company or corporation, they dont hold any concern to me other than me being their piggy bank. I've been very selective of my games, GPU allowed that luxury of playing games I'm not likely to buy or play. Bonus if games I want to play being part of GPU. GPU no longer a good deal? Back to what I've been doing all these years: being selective of my games. Pretty easy for me to do since my games are all single player AA/AAA games, and these kinds of games comes far and few in between. Saves money too, since they come far and few in between. While waiting for them to come, replay games like Hitman Trilogy that offers replayability from the way they're designed.

Sony's "GP"? Only worthwhile if includes Day 1 first party. Sony lose too much money if they did it? Back to what I said about holding no loyalty or affiliation to a company or corporation. They are after my money, I'm after the value of their entertainment. No value? No sale. Basically, I dont care if it bankrupts Sony if they need to do all that to net me as a potential subscriber. I just move on to the other platform for my entertainment.

No loyalty, no affiliation. I only use them for what they are. Like how they use me for what I am to them.

The game is now live/playable/unlocked on GamePass! Time to kill some Nazis, bullets through eye sockets, skulls, crotch, front and rear. Just need to get to that perfect sniper's perch before squeezing that trigger, taking into account wind direction and gravity over long distance. And the occasional civilians blocking the line of sight.

Cat and mouse, baby! Only that this cat snuffs out lives from a distance. Meow!

around that much. Cant remember, preloaded it a while back. Between that, Top Gun update for MS Flight Sim, and updates for Hitman Trilogy and Trek Yomi hard to keep track.

6 hours straight in the game and stubborn ol' me, still replaying the "Atlantic Wall" mission to do everything, mandatory or optional. Accidentally killed The Butcher on the first run, it's between him dead or his bodyguard swarming my sniping hiding place.

I'm so close to EXFIL waypoint but I cant bear to look at uncompleted POIs on the map. Those Anti-air guns are really annoying to eliminate, with the enemy patrols. I end up doing against what the game asks of me: Instead of snipe-and relocate, I went in for melee kills.

Killed so much via melee, unlocked the "Close Quarters" achievement.


Weekend? This weekend is for binge-watching Stranger Things Season 4 and Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiere, not for gaming.

It's only "rare" because Sniper Elite 5 is not COD. If it's COD, wont be so rare anymore. That achievement was just to show how I was frustrated spotting bogeys via the scope, and f*ck it, I went into the field like Solid Snake. I'm glad that Rebellion kept doing their own unique thing, and not fall victim into what's popular (Sniper Elite "battle royale" will totally kill all my interest in Elite anymore) or into the GaaS trap. Elite 5 has Invasion multiplayer mode though, those bunker you're destroying now becomes the sniper perch you have to defend in Invasion. I'm staying off multiplayer until I get through campaign.

Yeah, I didnt notice Elite 4 being this annoying with the weapon/equipment wheel menu. Or maybe it's just me panicking more often than I should.

Instead of holding the RB to bandage/heal, camera pan got too close to the dead body I was searching earlier for loot, and instead of bandage/heal, it rigged it for grenade booby trap on the body! Panic sets in when those Nazis were flanking in and I stubbornly want my loot for the kill I did, and I'm bleeding the f**k out!

Hope to finish up Sniper Elite 5 today. Spent entire Friday and yesterday with the lackluster Obi-Wan Kenobi and the fantastic Part I of Stranger Things Season 4.

After completing 2 episodes of Obi-Wan and 7 episodes of Stranger Things S4,

Oh, how the mighty Disney's Star Wars have fallen. When a bunch of kids trans-dimensional-traveling supernatural-tackling is far more interesting than a drawn-out oldfag with supernatural powers and a lightsaber he didnt even use, relying on nostalgia (Look! Bail Organa! kid Luke & Leia! Lightsabers! Meh......) to draw you in, you have issues with your show, Disney. I feel it's better if you're a "new" Star Wars fan or knew the lore like the back of your hand, that way, you wouldn't be disappointed at what Disney has turned SW into. They even retcon the Inquisitors and got the canon wrong, it's so frustrating!

Time to snipe some Nazi heads. Unleash my frustration there.

We finished Stranger Things Season 4 as it's a binge watch party. As in weekend binge with food and drinks with friends and family, that ability was taken away by the pandemic earlier. Plus the way Stranger Things is structured, it cliff-hangers at the end of almost every episode, encourages instantly cue-ing the next episode. The funny thing was, our watch party KNEW IN OUR GUTS that OWK will be SHIT (SHIT ya, not THE SHIT, two different things there), so we watched it first before Stranger Things so that we end the party with a high with Stranger Things. Turns out to be true in the end. The watch party got rowdy in the end, with speculations and bets made on how ST will end, no party-watchers were left behind drunk or sober, without getting home safely.

1st of July? I'm looking forward to return of another of my favorite show. A better sci-fi show than Star Wars. The crew of "The Orville". Give me tangible human connections (ST), not grandiose over the top spectacle that ultimately means nothing (OWK).

As for Sniper Elite5 , I think my earlypreload of the game glitched something bad in the game. Granted I did not follow the game's "recommended" route/path marked by the orange markers, but the game tries its damnednest to get you back to path to the point where enemies aggression suddenly ramp up for no reason (I wasnt even detected, stealth kills) just to get you back doing the orange markers. I think at one time the game even trapped me in a kill box with seemingly endless stream of Nazis with dwindling ammos, only because I chose to continue doing the optional objectives (find the stolen artworks, accidentally found, OUT OF TURN by killing the nosy snipers holding one of the stolen artworks at the corner towers of the mansion) after stealth killed the last target in the mansion. I mean c'mon man, I cant help it if I play my Sniper Elite like how I play my Hitman 3. Allow freedom to choose, Renellion. Dont hand-hold me, I'm not a kid anymore.

On the way. I've been wanting to unify both the consoles into one wireless headset. Relegating the still superb Arctis 7X to the Steam Deck, and the Audeze Penrose to the upcoming Zen4 desktop PC build once Nova Pro arrives. Nothing goes to waste. Unless someone wants the 7X?

Those stuck in mission 4 on Sniper Elite 5 after completing all mandatory objectives with no exfil point, it coz your game glitched out and did not mark the furnace as the next mandatory final objective. It's the location marked with a huge yellow circle on your map. Go there, sabotage the furnace, and exfil. I know a few in the FB group I frequent, are facing this glitch. Mine glitched as well, but I remembered Fairburne talking about the furnace needing too be destroyed while talking about the steelwork factory when that objective was still active/ongoing.

I'm currently on Mission 7, the game finally opens up after I got the right upgrade (body/equipment/combat). The faster moving while in Focus totally opens up the game for me. Cruising past enemies now, or easily flanking them for the kill.

Also, dont kill enemies straight away, they drop intel through their conversation with each other that makes approaching your objectives so much easier. I know the itch to crack skulls with your sniper bullet is alluring. The only enemy type I kill straight away are the snipers. Others are approachable by weaving in and out of building/long grass/shortcuts. Couple with the Move faster in Focus upgrade, the game is no longer a guesswork or a slog to go through.

Sniper Elite 5 campaign completed. Except DLC MISSION 10, in the Bavarian Alps, which I suspect, in the traditional Sniper Elite way, is another kill Adolf Hitler mission, just like Elite 4.

Will revisit the missions to get all collectibles and the two targets missing in the Kill List.

Holy shit, this came out from nowhere, or at least, under my radar, a total surprise! Even made me take out my old arcade joystick to do the game justice. 6-player co-op is a chaotic blast from the past!

Dare I say........better than Turtle in Time? But the original arcade TMNT is still better.

Chorus can wait, having to much fun with this! GamePass Day 1 FTW!

Even when/if this gets out of GPU library I'm happy to buy this full price. Buying this on PC of course, fattening up the Steam Deck library. Along with FFVIIR coming out on Steam.

Dont think steam summer sale will do anything to the price. too close off launch to be discounted or included in steam sale. Historical data from SteamDB has shown the fastest a game got discounted from launch date is at least 6 months for AAA games. This article still applies.

The technical cynic in me say "wait for Digital Foundry" to check and see if this FFVIIR Steam release is any better than the terrible & barebone EGS release. At the very least I'll wait until July 8th before deciding. Before the 29% discount expires.

Looking good preliminarily on the Steam release. Another user reported hitting 120fps on his Ultrawide with minimal (if any) stutter in the dreaded Sector 7 areas.
