When shit hits the fan. Affected players cant even launch games they bought, even single player games are DRM-ed. No server connectivity to authenticate games you bought? You cannot play!

received my Sharc V2 8K today, all the way from Boca Raton FL, USA.



Absolutely eliminated ALL audio dropouts and the issue of the AVR refusing all attempt at re-engaging ARC again just to get shitty lossy audio, from the poor 7 year-old AVR negotiating audio streams from 5 sources (PS5, XSX, 3080Ti gaming PC, another HTPC repurposed from an Asus mini PC, and an Amazon Fire Stick 4K MAX). Each and every format tested and works nicely. Only one caveat, if you know how eARC and how this device simplifies that, you will know what I meant. I'm just glad my C1 comes with plenty of HDMI2.1 compliant ports.

eARC really blows open the door to higher bitrate and throughput from lossless audio, although in my case, I'm plenty happy with my content from streaming services a.k.a lossy formats, I might stray away from streaming content and get a 4K Blu-ray, the last Blu-ray I got was GOTG, the first film. Streaming and 4K rips after that. I'm just glad the Sharc got rid of the audio dropouts without costing me a new AVR with messy HDMI2.1 compliant(more like non-compliant) standards. I'll let the niche pioneers be the guinea pig, once the dust settles I'll reconsider again if it's worth getting in.

The MS online DRM issue got me thinking, if they didnt implement it, it'll just going to be like how destroyed the Switch scene now is with game ISOs readily available, sometimes even 2 weeks before actual release. I would know, I streamed and played SSBU on a throw-away Twitch account 2 weeks early before official launch, and saw how bitter and agry the mob was, that throw-away account was instantly reported and locked close by Twitch......... not until I finished the single player section.

Switch DRM on their games, is a laughing joke, but we encouraged it so that we continue getting free games thanks to Nintendo's ineptness. Imagine getting XSX games with Nintendo-level DRM "quality". Instant high seas, baby! I guess Xbox's online DRM is a deterrent, at the inconvenience of its players. Even single player ones.

Thoroughly offtopic: Anyone knows of a "split controller" like Switch Joycon that'll work on PC? With analog triggers.

None that I can see.

In GOTG, at the start of the game when Meredith came over to talk to you, her lips synced perfectly.
In FH5, at the start of the game in the festival when you were introduced to Alejandra as the festival's new driver, her lip sync perfectly.
In Halo Infinite, all shots fired and sounded imediately.

Unless there is a delay I'm not aware of, I dont hear any game-breaking audio issues. Or are there games specific to this issue I should try?

I ran them all under Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos set in the XSX Settings.

Bethesda Delays Starfield To First Half Of 2023

I guess that Microsoft Bethesda June Showcase is pointless now, isn't it?

Looks like not only Starfield.........but a game called Redfall too is delayed to first half of 2023........



Pardon my ignorance, but this being my first time hearing about Redfall, I had to check out what it is. Ooooooh, it's an Arkane game.



Co-op. But with option to single play. Importantly, it's Arkane, their past history with good story based games is encouraging.

These two games better be good. 2023 is going to be awesome! .......only the wait is going to be a pain.

The next Cyberpunk,..............as in the next messy game like CP2077's launch?

Awesome that a game of its genre finally gets its due recognition. Sad that its sales get compared against a game like COD. Or rather, sad that the taste of modern "gamers" refers to COD and its sales number as the "benchmark" to compare to.

Probably also helps that 2022 list of AAA games is so thin. Narrows down the available choice and forces/encourages the demographic that gravitates to COD and its ilk to try something new other than stale shooters. But then again, "you can only bring the horse to water trough, you cant force the horse to drink the water".

Time to replay my favorite assassin trilogy again, Ray Tracing & DLSS update coming (PC only) in less than 24 hours! WOOHOO!
