I think, ASNB had been previously for many many years had been giving better rate than epf... Just since 2 yrs ago... Epf had been better.
Am I correct?

Comparing to ASMx, epf has been paying better dividend since 2017, in fact for the the last 10 years, 6x epf better than ASMx & 1x same dividend.

Some people says ASM vs EPF is not apple to apple comparison 😋

Different investment strategies & geographic exposure 🧐

Not forgetting fund size too...

👍👌
So in conclusion, epf better than ASNB fp funds in terms of chances of higher annual ROI...
But the drawback is long locking period for those not near retirement age or hv < 1mil inside.

I think epf doing better than ASMx now due to epf's foreign investment n rm weakening.

ASMx vs ASB portfolio variant alot?

For I read,...
Epf dividend exceed Permodalan Nasional Bhd’s (PNB) 4.25% dividend for 2020, making it the first time the retirement fund has outperformed PNB’s benchmark Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB).

That means ASB all the while better than epf...

So there's possiblity of ASB dividend higher or on par with EPF (probably matching Shariah version) this year???

Since ASB also have quite good foreign exposure? 🧐🤔

EPF major drawback is its illiquidity.

Oil and Gold are the places to be at the moment but I still think ASB2 dividend (due end of March) will total around 5% inclusive of bonus.

Fingers crossed.

For gold, how to invest? Which is the safest platform with smallest spread? Thru banks ok?

Just set yourself up with a reputable broker and start a trading account. We have an offshore trading account from when we lived overseas but I would imagine the process is similar for onshore investing. Your bank relationship manager may well be a good place to start but do your homework. Most brokers prefer to invest other people's money rather than their own for a reason.

Hi all, I have ASM1,2,3.

I will be selling off a big chunk of them to fund something. I'm confused as to which fund to sell more, or sell them "equally". The dividend payouts are in April, Sept, Oct iirc.

Q1. The one with April dividend - should I sell more or sell the least? In what way will selling in March affect the dividend amount?

Q2. If I manage to hold till nx month baru sell, should I sell more or less if the fund in Q1?

Q3. If I expect dividend to go up, does it mean I should hold more of the funds with Sep/Oct dividend?

Any thoughts will be appreciated.
