Utilize your HP IPAQ voice messenger! Do you all notice that this phone is a IP phone as well? Where if your office is fully converge with IP PABX system to replace the old analog PABX. Your IPAQ handphone is ready to become an IP phone. Means, u can log in to your IP PABX SIP server with your username/password. And u can start makes via VOIP call.

For those we don't have IP PABX implemented in their office like me. Visit this site www.voipcheap.com. Create an account & top up 10 Eur (about RM50). U can start to call to the globe at a very very very cheap rate & Free calls. Pls visit the site for the details.

My point here is, configure our IPAQ to connect to voipcheap.com's SIP server with your user account & password. And u can start to call via WIFI connection/EDGE over VOIP to house phone or any mobile phone at any destination...
eg. calling to Japan at only Eur 0.04 cent/s per minuts.. etc..

Technology ROCK on this IPAQ....

the touchpad is not weird but is UNIQUE.. All others notebook touch pad has a square box in the center for the touch pad. But this HP 520 touch pad is high tech in such a way that the pad surface is the same as the casing surface..

QUOTE(Lacus @ Sep 7 2007, 10:37 AM)
huh...New model again? The Presario V3665TU looks better than the HP520 imo..Coz HP520's touchpad looks weird XD. Any idea which 1 is better? specs are the same but jz diff models. ooh yeah..any idea which ram r they using? DDR2 533 or DDR2 667?

I don't know about u... i have no such issue...Pls double check when u are connecting the "internet sharing" in IPAQ 512..Before connect pls have a careful look at the bottom "network connection" Pls make sure the connection name is "DIGI GPRS" instead of DIGI MMS. Both also can make the connection and on the PC site.. everthing look normal.. But with DIGI MMS seleted.. your PC will not be able to surf net.

QUOTE(iRonTech @ Sep 8 2007, 09:54 AM)
i switch the sim card to se w610i as USB network for digi edge access, i found its much more stable than iPAQ 512 network..  sweat.gif

still waiting hp ipaq come out newer firmware to fix the unstable connection..  sad.gif

Yes.. maybe u can call Digi helpline to send you then GPRS setting.. For my Digi SIM card, when i plug it into my IPAQ.. All the setting is already preloaded in the SIM card. I can start to use EDGE & MMS without configure it..

QUOTE(iRonTech @ Sep 8 2007, 02:16 PM)
It should be DiGi GPRS profile setting issue.

I swap to maxis sim onto iPAQ, manual set the profile, it no problem to surf from one location to another.

Right now I use SEW610 as USB network access web from morning till now no problem...

Hi,
Before that i use bluetooth to connect to my notebook (USB bluettoh dongle). Yes, experience the same problem as yours...Now i use the USB cable already...No problem at all, but of course don't let your phone battery too flat when turning it as a modem.. I believe the phone consume more power then the charging's input...

My record of downloading is 4 hours.... No problem..

QUOTE(iRonTech @ Sep 9 2007, 12:51 PM)

sugen, what the longest time you connect your iPAQ to ur PC?

I tried before leave it overnight about 6-7 hours..next morning the iPAQ's battery drain off, shutdown, in charging mode...  sweat.gif  laugh.gif  doh.gif
Its same problem when I use SE phone as USB Network access.

I guess, probably the default USB cable power charging not fast enough to cover GPRS packets in/out power consumption..  sweat.gif
Inside the Resource Manager it did show "charging", yes, in fact its charging. But when some download running behind, the battery life show dropping (I check it from Tweaks2k2.Net utilities).

That is very good on consumer point of view.. By the way, each time when i want to use EDGE.. i will sure test the speed first at speedtest.net. And again the speed is from 160kbps-210kbps..

QUOTE(allrightall @ Sep 11 2007, 10:05 AM)
one thing good about digi edge is that if the speed too slow and u make a complain, the speed will actually improve rclxms.gif

How fast is AMD Turion x2 or Core 2 duo?

Or i wish to trade in my notebook.. Any1 in Low Yat do that? For your infor, i had upgraded to 1GB RAM (RM 150),+ upgrade to 3 years warranty (RM 280)... Pls advice who want to deal with me.. tq

Yes!! 4.7 score is not a bad score. Beside me is a Dell Inspiron 1420 Core2 Duo 1.5Ghz with 2GB DDR RAM. The rating is ONLY 4.6 (Processor), 4.5(RAM), 3.4(Graphics), 3.5(3D) and 4.8(HDD)..

4.5,4.5,2.4,3.0,4.7 score
how come Core2 Duo performance is so close with my hp520??

QUOTE(Lacus @ Sep 13 2007, 01:59 PM)
But i prefer the glossy look of the V3000 series XD..Sugen, it's not fast because hp520 is running on Intel GMA945 graphic card(onboard). 4.7, ok lar...My desktop running on sempron with a 6150se gpu only 3.0 =p.. if u want a laptop for video editing, u should @ least get a better laptop, with better gpu cards(nvidia or ati, price range of laptops usually 3k and above)

I think is the other way round.. Because when u received your invoice from HP... The invoice stated HP notebook + HP IPAQ+ Digi access.. That is all, u will not see a single bill from Digi side..
QUOTE(swanchew @ Sep 13 2007, 05:52 PM)
I just ask the digi sales rep. They said the RM170.50 is included RM99 data unlimited + RM20 Access + RM51.50 Call Air Times. Therefore the HP notebook & handphone is totally free ? she said no matter you make a call or not, RM51.50 already paid in RM170.50 package. If you call more than RM51.50, you have to paid the rest amount. However for 1st 6month we will get extra RM50 cash rebate per mth? Is that true?

no..not good enough. As Windows vista minimum requirement is 1GB RAM. Really make a big different if u add in another 1GB RAM.
QUOTE(TuanKing @ Sep 17 2007, 09:41 PM)
But since new laptop didn't install many things,512 is good enough isn't it? blink.gif

Yes, agreed with you. I have problem with the right bluetooth software to work with Nokia Suite on WinXP when using Nokia7610. Now, this bluetooth dongle plug in my Vista hp notebook. Vista is smart enough to find the correct driver for it and i m able to use it to connect to my IPAQ.. NO PROBLEM AT ALL
QUOTE(allrightall @ Sep 19 2007, 10:58 AM)
