I got an average speed of 200kbps ... I am getting the speed of 30-50kbps since i activated my digi sim card. I am still not sure is it Digi network egineer had done something on their site (log a report to digi on 14/8/2007) or the slot is free at morning time? But anyway, i will try this afternoon & tonite to see if i still can get this 200kbps speed. If yes, then i believe Digi network people had done something on their side..Will update again..

Digi network people call me. They said they had reset the "server" at my area... Ask me to monitor for few more day before they close my case. Will monitor 2 nite onwards..
They said, normal speed is 70-200kbps.. as it is a share bandwidth method.. My opinion 70kbps..hmn.. not acceptable.. at least the average speed has to exceed 120kbps..

QUOTE(ahpunk @ Aug 19 2007, 11:14 PM)
If I am correct, Digi QOS will benefit voice calls, that is why the internet speed will vary, try it at 3am, suppose to get the full speed  biggrin.gif ,  Do correct me if i am wrong...

Need some help here....

I'm looking to get an internet access at my area (without telekom service) and Digi's package is my first choice. But was told that it will take 3 weeks to process, where i need the internet connection urgently. Any idea where I can make the process faster, e.g. pay up the whole lump sump, register at their HQ, etc? Thx

Me again for the update...The speed is better slightly about 60-70kbps... But after i installed Neteagle, the speed increased very very much. It boots up to 110-120kbps immediately after restarting my notebook. This NETeagle really works... But, then i still feedback to Digi about the slow connection even with NETeagle..

Seems like HP had running out of stock for the 520 notebook with 1.6Ghz Duo Core processor. This is really a great deal !!! If u want to buy 3 Years warranty u need to add RM 290 for the care pack. RM 384-RM290=RM 94.. RM 94 u can get 120GB HDD instead of 80GB + 1.66 Ghz processor.. I want !!!!! But, mind already got the notebook 520 from hp already....

QUOTE(cy_an @ Aug 22 2007, 07:30 PM)
hp hird party call me to ask me to top up RM16 per month to get 3 years warranty, 120gb harddisc, 1 gb Ram, core 2 dua 1.66 ghz.
RM16 per month for those things. IT's worth or not?

i'm not sure its iPAQ problem, or DiGi EDGE...I'm facing some 'technical' problem...  sweat.gif

whenever I travel from one location(eg: Cheras) to another (eg: subang ofis), the iPAQ can't go online... sweat.gif

until I power cycle the iPAQ, the internet access (web, messenger, fring) will work.

the iPAQ firmware is 1.09.00 0.76.

do you guys who using iPAQ facing some problem?

Frankly, If u are purely looking for broadband service provider to replace streamyx.. Then EDGE technology is not suitable..It is Enhance version of GPRS only with max speed 384k. Go for either Maxis or Celcom 3G services perhaps their charges plan is suitable for you..
It is the hp/digi package that made us use EDGE..

QUOTE(ape @ Sep 3 2007, 08:40 AM)
I think can use edge/3g router to broadcast wifi, but after testing the edge speed, i think not worth it lah. The router cost >RM500.

Same thing lah..HSPDA stand for High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA, also known as High-Speed Downlink Protocol Access) is a 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol. HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of 1.8, 3.6, 7.2 and 14.4 Mbit/s. But i think, at the moment Celcom or Maxis only offer max 3MB.. but this technology have a potential to growth.. As the max speed is 14.4Mbps..

Since Digi fail to tender for the 3G license.. I am in doubt that what is their company direction in future...

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Sep 3 2007, 12:15 PM)
How about HSDPA?

Hard to say, HP business class notebook should be more durable(i believe). For Compaq family, the quality is really bad. Many of them suffer from screen problem just right after 1 year... The Rm 285 is just like buying insurance... If really that bad luck screen faulty on Year2.. then, this notebook can through away already...Better play safe

QUOTE(ember(tm) @ Sep 4 2007, 12:47 AM)
Ah, ok. I'll consider extending the warranty then.  smile.gif
Wow. RM285?  blink.gif

But are HP notebooks really that faulty?
*

Added on September 4, 2007, 10:44 amNo no.. both different technology.. HSDPA can carry higher pipe line data (up to Max 14.4mbps). I saw Maxis & Celcom already promoting their HSDPA service. But never find out in details..

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Sep 3 2007, 05:47 PM)
is that mean HSDPA and Edge is the same thing, just HSDPA have a higher spped. And our Maxis, digi and celcom all still not able to give HSDPA speed only

For the internet sharing..hmn.. if u have a way for XP, Vista to share out again from the "internet sharing connection". They it will works.. The thing is, need to figure out on this..

To me.. still ok. I can even do some downloading... the speed is about 20kb or sometimes 25 kb...Not bad lah... The selling point here is mobility.. And look cool also by plugging hp to notebook n ONLINE..

But one thing is, when there is incoming call. The internet will stop.. Once u hang up, the internet is working again...

QUOTE(sam240 @ Sep 5 2007, 10:43 AM)
