i using 100mbps router ASUS RT-AC68U lan cable full speed 105mbps upload 51mbps

wifi i getting 80mbps upload 45mbps that cannot full speed due limited wifi

most be 50-80mbps so my phone we don't need full speed wifi its not imported for me

full speed imported most PC Desktop computer using lan cable only no wifi

WIFI = most phone enough speed
*
Depends on phone also. I can reach 400Mbps on some phone using RT-AC68U router. AC68U can handle 840Mbps on LAN cable no problem.

There are people paying RM239 for 800Mbps + Ultimate TV pack. If TM launches an 800Mbps plan, probably will be more expensive than this.

No more mosaic feature in new UI. Previously the thumbnail sometimes missing some channels anyway.

anyone having problem opening some sites like reddit, very slow loading also cannot play fortnite bcs of high packet lost?

No problem with reddit here.

Disable IPv6.
*
Reddit doesn't even use IPv6 so not an IPv6 issue. Disabling IPv6 actually make sites like Twitter load slower or sometimes not load properly at all.

Actually nothing to do with IPV6 .. ipv6 on doesnt make your connection slow
*
So far IPv6 affects Twitter only. Because Twitter's CDN for IPv6 and IPv4 is either different server or different routing. The IPv4 CDN has higher latency, about double. So using IPv6 actually makes it load faster. I've been keeping IPv6 enabled for few months now. No issues.

So I have heard there are alot of known issues with this router and wanted to ask what router most of you folks recommend for a replacement. I usually end up keeping the telco provided router as backup.
*
Asus RT-AC86U and Asus RT-AC68U is recommended. If want cheaper, Asus RT-AC1200G+ is okay.

What about the archer A9? comparatively ?

I have had ADSL Asus routers before but for some reason the dhcp is very flaky for my TV.
With TP Link or DLink , turning on the sony TV, in about 5secs it would renew dhcp lease and work fine.

But on the asus it wouldn't get dhcp properly and I would have to manually refresh the connection often.  Anyone experienced this before?
*
I don't know about D-link or TP-link other than the ones TM gave. I usually avoid brand ending with Link due to experience with their poorly made firmware.

I'm using a Sony Android TV with Asus RT-AC68U latest firmware using IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack. The TV can get IPv4 and IPv6 IPs without issues.

I would just say go for a dedicated router and access point setup.

Therefore u rarely need to touch the router when u change to a new access point model.

The higher the AC values doesn't mean the higher the coverage.

More antenna = more coverage, more throughput
Higher AC value = Higher transfer speed
*
Ya... And depends on how many antenna and AC value that the connected devices have as well.

*
VDSL one probably can replace with your own like a Streamyx modem. The one on fibre with ONU + router, can only replace router by yourself. ONU requires special configuration to connect to fibre network.

In Sarawak Town Areas The Unifi Equipments Use White ONU Huawei and Sliver Alcatel Lucent I 240-G. Btw The Router D-Link Has A Lot of Security Flaws based on DIR 850-L And Wanna To Throw This Router Out. Even Update Firmware Is Turning Out No Use. I do Like ASUS High Powers Routers And Asus RT-ac 66u.

But Wanna Say is That The TP Link Archer C6 Is The Best I connected To The Wifi To Time Fibre I Guess.
*
DIR 850-L does have lots of security issues. The last time I tested it on old firmware, the IPv6 firewall isn't even working. I didn't test newer firmware as I no longer use it since long ago. Have replaced with RT-AC68U immediately and got way better performance.

Google DNS is Good But The News Said 1.1.1.1 is Much More Faster and Reliable.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Dec 8 2019, 02:21 PM)
The fastest is always the closest. Try to use the DNS server built into your router. You can configure it to use 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 as you see fit or even both.
*
If want to find out which is fastest for you, can do something like this with PowerShell...
CODE
Measure-Command { nslookup forum.lowyat.net 8.8.8.8 }
Non-authoritative answer:

Days              : 0
Hours             : 0

So Cloudflare is faster for me.

What speed do you get if you use your router?
*
About 20+ ms using this command. I have a caching DNS server (which has Cloudflare as upstream) running on the network which the router points to. The DNS lookup alone should be 0ms. This Measure-Command thing times how long nslookup took to execute so there's some extra time.

Here are more accurate results using a linux system...

Cloudflare is mostly 19ms-20ms but Google ranges from 21ms-31ms.

2a00:5a60::ad1:0ff
2a00:5a60::ad2:0ff

Pinging return "Request time out"
*
Just tested after seeing this post. Same here, request timed out. Might be related to recent international connectivity issues. Some sites can hardly load here. A speedtest to Korea failed and speedtest to Japan results in less than 0.3Mbps.

Use IPv6 no loading problem. Already mentioned few time previously in these forums. IPv6 is better for Twitter images and videos.

Last time when Twitter got loading problem is because TM problem also. But the problem only affect IPv4 for Twitter. IPv6 not affected. Don't know your problem now same or not. Right now I can use Twitter and YouTube no problem with IPv6 enabled.

Reddit & Wikipedia loads perfectly and very fast on my end here. No issue whatsoever

And make sure you are using Google DNS, not Cloudflare DNS

Google DNS and Cloudflare DNS return the same results over here for those sites mentioned

IPv6 vs IPv4 however does make a difference for some of those sites mentioned

Is this temperature below OK for ASUS router..

Legend: 2.4 GHz - 5 GHz - CPU
Current Temperatures: 49 °C - 55 °C - 78 °C

You may try ask here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2651405/+10840
But for me in general, any CPU or GPU is okay if maintain below 80*C

sorry for the stupid question but how do you "enable ipv6"? lots of people here saying it seems to fix the connectivity issues with some sites
*
Depends on your router (for Unifi) or phone (for mobile broadband). I've enabled IPv6 for both Unifi line and mobile line (not Unifi). So far no issues in a few months of using. If you are using TM's router, you may find some IPv6 guides on TM's website.

is reddit also from that server?
bcs everytime unifi have this problem i can't surf reddit properly, like opening thread will take long time and also if have video it will load very slow and lag...
*
As far as I know...
Twitter - Edgecast / Akamai
Reddit - Fastly
Github - Amazon
Recent issues usually affect Edgecast IPv4 (IPv6 ok), Fastly and Amazon.

Netflix and YouTube usually will never have issues because they have cache servers inside TM's network with IPv6 addresses that are within TM's IP address block.

EDIT: Yup... the Twitter IPv4 issue is back...
user posted image
This will cause Twitter images and videos to load slowly or fail to load if you do not have IPv6 enabled.

EDIT2: seems there is an issue with DNS as well. Sometimes it only returns IPv4 result and no IPv6 for pbs.twimg.com so it still connects with IPv4 even when IPv6 is enabled.

Comparing my traceroute to Twitter's image CDN with one done online....

pass through same IPs towards the end but latency so much different there and I even get packet loss sometimes.

*left is online at https://pulse.turbobytes.com/ using Malaysia agent, right is on my PC on Unifi. IPv6 no issues but DNS sometimes doesn't provide IPv6 IPs for this CDN.
